ADCE Parameter Description

Below are the list of NSN Adjacency parameters with description and recommended values.

1. directed retry threshold (DRT) - drThreshold

With this parameter you define the threshold value of the signal strength in the adjacent cell for the
Directed Retry procedure. If the signal strength level in the cell is lower than this threshold value,
adjacent cell is not accepted as a candidate in directed retry.

Range:- -110...-47 dBm

Default value is -100 dBm but it is advisable to set it at -85dBm for performing directed retry in good
RF condition.

You may change this value in order to to improve TCH assignment success rate if there are lot of DR
attempts due to blocking.

2. HO load factor (OF) - hoLoadFactor

With this parameter you define how much the priority of the target cell will be decreased if the cell is
overloaded. The parameter is used only for the cells under one BSC if the BSC cannot get
information about the loading of other cells.

Range:- 0....7 defualt:- 1

You may decrease the priority of overloaded target cell in order to reduce unnecessary HO attempt to
improve HOSR and TCH drop.

3. HO margin lev (LMRG) - hoMarginLev

With this parameter you define a MS rx level threshold for a handover caused by signal level.
Range:- -24.....24 dafault:- 3 db

If there are higher % of HO caused by UL/DL level then you may increase this parameter to 6dBm
for reducing unnecessary ping pong HO attempt in weak coverage area.

4. HO margin pbgt (PMRG) - hoMarginPbgt

With this parameter you define a MS rx level threshold in the power budget process. The handover
margin prevents repeated handover between adjacent cells.

Range:- -24.....63 dafault:- 6 db

If you need to make fast HO decisions then decrease value of this parameter from 6 to 3 or 4 dBm.

5. HO margin qual (QMRG) - hoMarginQual

With this parameter you define a MS rx level threshold for a handover caused by signal quality.

Range:- -24.....24 dafault:- 3 db

If there are lot of HO caused by DL qual then you may increase value of this parameter from 0 to 3 to
reduce unnecessary HO attempt in weak quality. This will improve your HOSR performance.

6. RX lev min cell (SL) - rxLevMinCell

With this parameter you define the minimum signal level of an adjacent cell, when a handover is
allowed to one of them.

Range:- -110...-47

default:- -100 dBm

It is advisable to keep this parameter at -95 dBm or higher than that in order to reduce HO failures
happens in weak coverage area. This will imrove your HOSR performance.
