SREE BHAVI PUBLIC SCHOOL

ANNUAL REPORT
2017-18

As we approach to the end of the academic year, I take this opportunity to thank the
Almighty Lord for his abundant blessings and guidance. I also thank for the support
from our management, parents, students, teachers and well wishers.

This year has been a very eventful one for us. We have made great efforts to transform
the attitude of children and have been extremely successful in most of our endeavours.
With Immense pleasure , I would like to present before you the report of activities of the
school undertaken during the academic year 2017-18.

There is a great saying “ Real education fetches you more than a job. It teaches you to
live. It cannot be measured in any tangible way.

As we share the annual report, we take the modesty to say that we did our best as we
had planned and we are proud of our students and teachers who strive hard to
achieve beyond expectations. We have focused on the holistic development of our
students. To avoid lengthy presentation, the report will be a nutshell of all.

Sree Bhavi Public School is an institution run by Sree Bhavi Cuiltural and literary
society which was established in 1971.
Sree Bhavi family consisits of 12 trained , experienced, dedicated teaching staff and 2
supporting staff.

Staying updated is the key to success in any field, especially in the filed of education .
Our teachers constantly strive to stay updated under the guidance of the members of
the Management.

Academics:
Achieving academic excellence is at the heart of endeavour of all educators and
academic institutions.
We, at Sree Bhavi have tried to implement concept based teaching learning strategies
for the academic excellence.
Remedial classes were held at required time for students requiring additional help in
various subjects.

Students were assessed continuously and the progress cards are distributed to the
parents on open day for the interaction between parents and teachers.

Co-curricular activities:
A host of co-curricular activities have been organized during the year. This year the
school has introduced Sree Bhavi Mid-day Radio Programme , to maximize the time to
expose their talent. The children got an opportunity to improve the art of public
speaking, body language depiction and the talent of self expression. The programme
also included the interviews of successful people in and around Pandakkal.

To promote the competitive spirit and to bring out the talent of the student, various co-
curricular activities were conducted this year. Competitions like Sree Bhavi
Handwriting Competition, Essay writing , Elocution , Painting, Drawing, Poem
recitation, Story telling , Memory test were conducted during the course of the year.

Our students also participated and won many prizes in various co-curricular activities
conducted by the Institutions and Organizations in and around Pandakkal.

They also took part in the Regional Science exhibition conducted on Oct 12,13 and 14,
at Paloor, where they showcased their creative ideas and models.

This year , …. Students took part in the off stage and On-stage programmes of Bala
Kala Mela. Aaradhya of 2nd std got II prize in drawing and Harika of UKG got 3rd
prize in Story telling Malayalam. Even though our kids were not able to grab many
prizes, they displayed their talents and got the audience and judges’ appreciation.

Of the total 69 students, 61 students participated in the PCM scholarship exam


conducted by progressive curriculum Pvt ltd. Out of students who were enrolled for the
exam, 23 got Grade A-3 with Scholarship, 18 students got grade B1 with Distinction,
and 15 students got grade C1 with first class.
Now lets us have a brief glimpse of the celebrations that marked the school calendar
this year.

Praveshanothsavam was celebrated on 1 June 2017 to mark the beginning of the new
academic year

World Environmental day was celebrated on 5 June 2017 with the theme Connecting
people to Nature with students, parents and teachers planting saplings in the school
premises.

Blue day was celebrated on 27 July 2017, which also marked the second death
anniversary of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam.

Our school celebrated 71st Independence Day on 15th august 2017 with great
patriotic fervor, zeal and zest.

Farmer’s day was celebrated on 17 August 2017 to mark the beginning of the
agricultural works. The children spent the day in the field observing and involving the
agricultural activities.

‘Onam’ was celebrated on 31st August with different programmes like flower carpet,
Tug-of-War and Chess competition . A delicious Saadhya was prepared and served by
the staff of SPBS.

Birthday of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was celebrated October 2nd, in our school
by cleaning the premises by students and teachers.

Vijayadeshmi was celebrated on 29th September in which initiation of letters was done
by Shri Unni Master.

White day was celebrated on 3rd Oct 2017.

National Unity day was celebrated on 31st Oct 2017 , to pay tribute to Vallabhbhai
Patel who was instrumental in keeping India united. On that day, school organized
National Unity Run to foster unity.

Children's Day was celebrated on 14th November by conducting various individual and
group competitions.

Christmas day and National Mathematics day was celebrated at school on 24th
December 2017 .

Sri. M V Devan's 89th birthday was celebrated as ‘Deva Smarana’ with a 'Drawing
and colouring camp' on January 16th 2018. Shri Veerandran , Art Master inaugurated
the programme in which students from 22 schools of Mahe region participated. Was
Drawing competition was organized and were given certificates and mementoes.

Our school organizes trips and picnics very year to help students gain firsthand
knowledge and augment their academic learning.

It was an amazing learning experience when the students of class 1 to 6 were taken to
our Unni master’s filed . They learnt various agricultural procedures during the trip.

Students of class 5 and 6 were taken to National Science exhibition organized at


………………., Thalaserry.

The Annual tour was organized to Sadhoo Theme park were students and teachers
had great opportunity to rejuivenate themselves.

13th Annual Sports Day was held at 11th December 2017 with Unni Master as the
Chief Guest. The event commenced with the hoisting of the flag by the chief guest
followed by the sports events in which students displayed their talents in various
sports. The staff and the parents also participated in different competitions. Medals
were distributed by S.I of Pandakkal, Mr.Shanmugam

I would like to conclude by extending our sincere thanks to all parents and each one of
you our well wishers who have lent a supportive hand down through the year, in all
our endeavors to produce a confident, educated and capabale students. I hope you
would enjoy the cultural programme, presented by our students and your evening with
us is a pleasurable one.
