INTRODUCTION

Poetry, I consider, is a melodious song sung by mind for its

gratification to make itself mindless. This may sound rather
strange to those who consider poetry as a source of recreation.
In the process of recreation or enjoyment there are three things
- enjoyer, the source of enjoyment and the interaction linking
these two. This amounts to a filtered and diverged merrymak-
ing and not the absolute sense and experience of the sublime
happiness. One has to merge the said threefold dimensionality
into one and only one, if absolute mode of joy is to be
experienced in poetry. I experience that the poet SHREEYASH
was in trance of oneness neighbourhood in his creation 'On the
Sea Shore' His dialog to himself.
But I walk alone
Hence no one to talk
depicts in silence of absoluteness to the external material
world of anxiety.
The initial duality of the poet
The fire in my heart
Which burnt some parts
finally identifies with oneness
Water has calmed by
In the poem there are many places and occasions, when
the poet seeks isomorphism with the intrinsic beauty coupled
with poetic wisdom to enjoy the nectar trickling from poetry.
The things, which are not of much interest in general, such
as sand, shells, crabs find respect in his poetic grandeur. The
most beautiful part, I perceive, is the cascading tranquility of
dynamism through shining Sun, gushing water Waves, noisy
nights, crying conches, darkness, etc as well as peeping moon,
golden mermaids, coconut trees etc.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Now a days, we all know that all day we are surrounded by

motors, and poison filled smoke, people shouting and hurling
abusive words and all other things on the media to corrupt
young minds. All this useless shit which plays around us all
time deviate us from the life's true rhyme and all together our
outlook towards it. But the most who suffers from this is a one
who has poetic mind. He is not that much equipped to run with
the practical world, a kind of misfit what I consider myself.
But this suffering is a coin which has got another side too
and a good one. I can in a sense boast of enjoying a different
kind of attitude towards world and to guess that's also the
reason this collection is possible.
The origin of idea of the poetic collection is too unique one.
It goes like this, I was watching a Marathi film in which actor is
walking on the beach and talking to a sun which is soon to go
down. I thought, wouldn't it be interesting to convey this unique
outlook of enjoying the naturistic life and loving it to the
concrete world? At that second, I began on my first stanza and
really never guessed, would write Sixty Four poems. I do not
reject the fact that every person's meaning and way of living a
life is different in million ways possible. My only intention to
publish this book is to tell everyone that this is also an outlook
and the one which cools your nerves rather than swelling them
up and ultimately leading to the explosion. In the poem
protagonist is a young man who is away from the city life, on a
not much visited beach living a peaceful life. One day
distraction a beautiful mermaid comes in his life. He soon
understands that in being with her, he has started neglecting
his real mates - the seagulls, the rays, the corals, the fussing
coconut crabs etc. He takes decision against his gut and asks
mermaid to go away to her clan and leave him alone so that he
can again start loving his friends. These poems are kind of a
story in the verse having with its theme having a useful advice
for especially the teen readers.
I would like to thank Dr. T. M. Karade for giving his
special note of appreciation to my collection. I am very much
thankful to Dr. Babanrao Taywade, Dr. V. S. Jog, Dr. Ratnakar
Bhelkar, my parents, relatives, teachers and friends for their
unceasing support and I am also grateful to Nathe Publication
Limited for the keen interest they have taken, and the
co-operation for publishing the book.

When there is Sun

There is light
The darkness I see
When Moon looks at me
Things are same
Water in ocean lame.

On The Sea Shore... / 7

2

On this beach
Now I walk
But I walk alone
Hence no one to talk
I press this sand
Of the long sand band
And press my toes
On this wet land.

On The Sea Shore... / 8

3

Water comes and goes

And like her touch
They touch my toes
Waves are gushing
And coming on beach
Fisher at some distance
Hurriedly homeward rows.

On The Sea Shore... / 9

4

The night is calm

No clouds , no rain
In this beautiful scene
I walk in vain
Nothing is moving
No leave, no flower
Only me and water are
Looking for our lovers.

On The Sea Shore... / 10

5

Fishes have gone

Deep inside
I throw them some food
But they don’t come to me
They have deserted me
My friends with fin
I don’t see their jumps
As always have seen .

On The Sea Shore... / 11

6

Wetted with water

Little grains of sand
They shine so much
Like diamonds on the land
They look like diamonds
Diamond thrown from the sky
But I don’t see the shooting star
When I look at the sky .

On The Sea Shore... / 12

7

Dark film this ocean

Lightened by the Moon
Mystery it seems
Like voice of a Loon
Bird is singing
And I hear its voice
It is calling me
To live in rejoice.

On The Sea Shore... / 13

8

When at some distance

I sat on seaweeds
And to create some melody
I start playing shy reed
Then stars look at me
They shine more bright
I knew by those gesture
That I was blowing right.

On The Sea Shore... / 14

9

Melody sounded good

Had beautiful sound of wood
Moon even enjoyed that
And why wouldn’t he would ?
A night near water
Was now brightly lit
The waves moved towards me
And touch my hard feet .

On The Sea Shore... / 15

10

I keep on playing reed

And not stop playing
Till my lips start to bleed
I keep blowing my breath
I blow some more
I play in his praise
On this sandy shore.

On The Sea Shore... / 16

11

The night is so noisy

And yet so calm
And waves are rhyming
Poet writes a poem
Hence rides on these waves
He craves for the words
For beauty he craves .

On The Sea Shore... / 17

12

I stop playing my flute

Waves splash on me , in rage
And in their haughty manner
They flow in other way
They splash on me
And prompt me to play
They want to hear
They want to hear my melody.

On The Sea Shore... / 18

13

The sand gets dry

When waves merge in ocean
When conches begin to cry
They come again to see
They wet hard shells
The ivory curved bells
At distance with a distinct cry
Cry some large whales .

On The Sea Shore... / 19

14

The fire in my heart

Which has burnt some parts
Water has calmed by
Its rustling sound
And made me to giggle
Golden Mermaids around
Mermaids touch my feet
Mermaids touch my ankles
And shine in moonlight
Just like womans golden.

On The Sea Shore... / 20

15

Round are rocks

Over whom I sit
They have become slippery
With slimy green growth
These algaes have covered
These round hard rocks
They wear these algaes like
huge green socks .

On The Sea Shore... / 21

16

I do love this dusk

I do love this shade
Want to feel this in my eyes
Before I go to bed
Somewhere is red
Some clouds dark blue
They hold on each other
By some cloudy glue .

On The Sea Shore... / 22

17

A dieu my beach
There is sleep in eyes
I want to reach
To my bed
I am loosing my speech
Unable to see
And am full of yawn
But I will come
And play for you
I wait for the ray
I wait for the dawn.

On The Sea Shore... / 23

18

I fall over my bed

Then quickly enter my dream
Those shouting of whales
That jumping of bream's
They come in my dream
And swim in mind
Oh these lovely creatures
They are so kind.

On The Sea Shore... / 24

19

I wanted next morning

To sleep some more
But awakened by gulls
And sound of the shore
Like new born bird
Make a hatch
I woke in my
Drangling strawfilled thach .

On The Sea Shore... / 25

20

I took first breath

As hatchling somewhere
And spread my wings
To fly in the air
I open my eyes
To see everywhere
To touch its blue water
I put down my feet
With my feet dirty bare
I woke towards ocean.

On The Sea Shore... / 26

21

I have smile on my face

I am in my dream
A step in lovefull water
Away from chaotic race
Waves are coming
And then going back
They are hitting my lids
And frills of lashes
Water oozes out
My eyes in happiness
The happiness I seek
Water in childish way
Rolled down my cheeks.

On The Sea Shore... / 27

22

Up comes a Sun
After a long run
I am the one
To first see it
Over the water
Floating over I see
Sun my God
Is addressing me.

On The Sea Shore... / 28

23

Sound I hear
The sound of waves
Which go deep within me
Deep in the caves
Sun lays his hands
His rays over my head
He is bright yellow
He is bright red.

On The Sea Shore... / 29

24

Some birds are crying

Some fly eyes closed
They fly as it drunk
Those drunkers heavely dosed
They fly up in the sky
And swiftly make a dive
They sit on my thach
And enjoy their catch.

On The Sea Shore... / 30

25

Leaves of coconut trees

Are swaying in air
One or two coconuts
Are floating somewhere
I have never seen
Morning so good
Long slender trees
Are loaded with seeds
And some coconuts crabs
Are scratching its woods.

On The Sea Shore... / 31

26

Long long coconut tree

Have their roots in sand
And have their heads
Swaying heads, over sea
Many of them grow
Straight towards sky
And many of them
Are expressing their sigh.

On The Sea Shore... / 32

27

The Sun has now risen

Risen up from the deep
From high in the sky
He is warming the reef
He is telling me now
To shed some of my clothes
And to go in water
And make a dive.

On The Sea Shore... / 33

28

Dive, dive my son

Swim along the reef
For how deep you dive
I want to see
Touch those redish ,
White, orange clowns
But be aware of those frills
Those jelly filled gowns.

On The Sea Shore... / 34

29

MY son be aware
Be aware of my stings
Those stings of ray.
Please follow my instructions
And do as I say
Swim but with care
I want you to swear
And go nowhere
Where I can't see you.

On The Sea Shore... / 35

30

Swim my son
And don't miss this land
Don't miss that thach
And don't miss that sand
And enjoy with mermaid
Water ladies of various kinds.

On The Sea Shore... / 36

31

Sun is shining
Brightly in sky
And laying its rays
On water and through
I have been searching
I have been searching for you .

On The Sea Shore... / 37

32

Oh mermaid, my mermaid
Take me through the cave
Love me the water
Love me on the waves
We dive deep inside
And only bubbles come up.

On The Sea Shore... / 38

33

Group of bubbles
Upwards going , small round
Big , Many of the small
Make a prestine sound
They moan of something
That something is done
Deep within the caves of water.

On The Sea Shore... / 39

34

After some time with her

I came on the shore
I came out of water
Yet craved for some more
I craved for her eyes
I craved for her fins
Then everyday went in water
To commit addictive sin .

On The Sea Shore... / 40

35

Everytime , just before night

To call her I used to sing
A beautiful head after that
With her long gold fins
Would come out
Beautiful lady
With her long gold fins
Some shallow water's noise
Then in her arms
She says to me
I mean no harm.

On The Sea Shore... / 41

36

I dive in water
And wet my dry face
The land on me
Becomes thirsty more often
On sand I walk
More often
Unstable like a hungry tiger
In cage , in rage
Throw nuts in water
If she is late.

On The Sea Shore... / 42

37

God what happened

To my love for this shore ?
God what has happened
To my love for
The wetting and then drying sand ?
Why do I wander
On this long band
And crave for her love
Instead of loving all these ?

On The Sea Shore... / 43

38

Am I a man
Who has now become animal ,
Who only loves flesh ,
Have I become a cannibal ?
Who loves body more
More than this shore
I have closed all my doors
All windows of my thatch
But left open the door of lust
Unaware of letting in the dust
In my clean life.

On The Sea Shore... / 44

39

I realised
Was doing wrong to these shore
On which I live
And this blue water
In which I swim
In which I dive
I will tell her to leave
When she arrives.

On The Sea Shore... / 45

40

The night was calm

And the water was calm too
The sky was clear
There were no clouds
In that calm air
I dared to call her
And sing a song loud
She came upwards
And flapped in happiness
To call me in water
I could say nothing
Just nodded side to side
And turned my back.

On The Sea Shore... / 46

41

I was on the beach

Away from her
She wanted to hold me
But I was away from her reach
She loved her fins
But not that day
Wish I was human
She said to herself.

On The Sea Shore... / 47

42

I said to me
Ignore her sound
Don't go in water
Stay on the ground
Put hands over the ears
Go away to your world
Go away my dear
My dear mermaid.

On The Sea Shore... / 48

43

Go , call shipmen
Make them come to you
Bid me a good bye
Bid me a adieu
Leave this man
Who has stop loving nature
Now only who adores is your form
Who adores your stature.

On The Sea Shore... / 49

44

I love you yet

Take your wet charm
Away from me
Go away to your clan
So that I can
Love my family again
My trees , my gulls
Are all complaining,that
They have lost their lover.

On The Sea Shore... / 50

45

Now mist has began to clog

And wet my eyes
These rock and logs
And air is telling me
To return to my hut
And take unwilling decision
A step Against my gut.

On The Sea Shore... / 51

46

Getting roughened by sand

I Often wander talking to me
Waves are slapping me
And winds do the same
Yet in her wet arms
I want to be seen again.

On The Sea Shore... / 52

47

Crabs pinch me
With two pointy claws
And take out spit foam
Out of long mouth
In rage they clap making sound
Tick- tick
I understand , hey crabs
All your sounds
I'm no stupid, I'm no hick.

On The Sea Shore... / 53

48

You all nut crabs go

Do things that you do
You see a coconut
That just fell
All of you go
And dig that well
And after drinking
That sweet water
Labour your claws
To scrap the white cream
Out of shell.

On The Sea Shore... / 54

49

Don't worry about my affair

Save yourself from being beaten
Save yourself from
Being Cooked in butter
And be served on a long bread
Were you with red wine
May simply get eaten.

On The Sea Shore... / 55

50

Trickle trickle sand grain

Clouds have gathered
Above the waves
They have clogged,
Start falling the rain
I Stand on small bridge
Made of logs
Up open mouthed horny partridges
Roam in sinfull fog.

On The Sea Shore... / 56

51

The rain helter skelter

From cloud falling rain
Zig zag comes water
Nothing seems sane
Everything seems mocking
A man loves fish
Who pops out of ocean
The wide moving dish.

On The Sea Shore... / 57

52

They wishper when

She comes out
And
Sweep in their lair
And close eyes in shame.

On The Sea Shore... / 58

53

Going away from critical sounds

Now often I submerge
And swim along reef
Here I see sea snakes
With recurring black white
Puffer who puff on touch
And rays angelic sight.

On The Sea Shore... / 59

54

Rings of bubbles go up
Dancing from side to side
Octopus wears those
Ring in hands
This is where love resides.
In waves of water
Weeds move hands.

On The Sea Shore... / 60

55

For little time I come up

I come up to inhale some air
And then dive down
Deep down in water
After some time I
Can be seen nowhere.

On The Sea Shore... / 61

56

Did I walk through fire?

Certainly I did
Certainly that water maidens love
I forbid
I did bid her adieu
Adieu farewell
In moon lit night
When silver comets fell.

On The Sea Shore... / 62

57

Now that maiden has gone

I spend my time
Counting stars,mostely bright
Looking at the horizon
Just before the dark
At orange lamp
Our lamp dimming light
Oval lamp is going down
Like God sowing
Bright seed in deep
From which a plant will grow
The plant which grows
From mounds of reef.

On The Sea Shore... / 63

58

In the night I splash my feet

Amidst small blue lights
Those have gathered on long rim
They illumine as I touch them
Frightened by a touch
Of grey childish bream.

On The Sea Shore... / 64

59

From above the rocky cliff

Where I stand
I see horizon, long pacific blue
I move my long wand
To change colour of sky
To rise high tides
Along every side
To make sea birds dive
And rays in air fly.

On The Sea Shore... / 65

60

I see the ocean I love

From the wide concave cove
And often in my long canoe
To nearby mound
With the long strokes , I row
I drink the dizzy brew
Made myself
And row blue water with elf's
The elf's holding bow.

On The Sea Shore... / 66

61

What you do
To make nut wine
Is to first of all
Huge the tree
With the warm romantic hold
And then strain your spine
As lover would
And then advance up and down
Back and forth.

On The Sea Shore... / 67

62

The vines have dried

The coconut dried leaves
Those that fall
When roots become loose
But remain hung
Green much long
Green coconuts , filled with juice.

On The Sea Shore... / 68

63

I most of time
Can be seen walking
On rock and sand
Waves keep coming
One after another
Day every night
Sun comes up
And then goes down
Birds wake up and glide all day
Music to my ears
Their lovely sounds.

On The Sea Shore... / 69

64

I have had my meal

And am sitting
And Looking at the horizon
Where sun is half submerged
And scattering its orange light
On the water
My question is :
Will the plain orange horizon
Always be so simple
Or will someone obstruct it again?
