New Features

This section provides a general overview of the new features of Aspen Fleet
Optimizer V9.

AFO Map Monitor

AFO Map Monitor allows the users to view their schedules, and also displays
their truck routes over a period of time. With AFO Map Monitor, you can:
 Click on trucks for selected time-period and is able to view each trip
individually on the map.
 Select and view Groups, Terminals, and Trucks on the map.
 View Group, Terminal, and Truck details.
 View orders associated with the Groups, Terminals, and Trucks.

Terminal Name Display

The terminal name is now displayed under the terminal number on the Order
Detail dialog. Since the SortTerminal option displays the terminal name with
the terminal number already, the terminal name will not be displayed under
the terminal number if SortTerminal=1.

Split Order Expansion Default

In Resource Scheduling Optimization (RSO), split orders that have been
assigned to a transport are displayed as a tree structure which is initially in a
collapsed state. This new feature allows the default display for split orders to
be either collapsed or expanded based on the new RSO option
ExpandSplitOrders.

New Features 5
Order Dialog Accelerator Keys
Several accelerator keys have been defined for the Order Detail dialog to
improve its usability. The functions can be accessed by holding down the Alt
key and pressing the accelerator key which will be highlighted with an
underscore. The accelerator key is active whether or not the shift key is
pressed, and will not be active when the applicable function is grayed out or
otherwise inactive.

Accelerator Key Function

K “Locked” checkbox
S “Source Lock…” button
U “Buffers…” button
R “Transport Info” button
F “Tank Info…” button
I “Restrictions…” button
M “Order Items…” button
P “Split Order…” button
(Replenishment Planner order export
only)

Customer Search from Order

Lists
The existing RSO Edit->Search->Customer Number feature can now be
accessed directly by right-clicking on an individual order in the Available,
Transport, Overflow, and Storage lists and on the Gantt View schedule.

Enhanced Overflow Order

Processing
Additional post-optimization processing steps have been added to RSO to
reduce the occurrence of must-go (and optionally can-go) orders in the
overflow list. When enabled, selected orders in overflow will be tested
against transports in either the current terminal or the entire group and
placed on the transport if there is a match. This post-processing is not
guaranteed to result in an optimal placement of such orders, but is intended
to reduce or eliminate manual dispatching for orders which the optimizer does
not place on a transport.

6 New Features
New Configuration Settings
The following settings have been added to Aspen Fleet Optimizer to support
the new features provided in this release.
