Christian Apologetics

Course Objectives

 To impart skills to the students to think logically and to


understand why they believe what they believe.
 To help students learn the basic guidelines for Christian
apologetics.
 To learn the art of presenting and defending one’s faith.
 Helping the students to reach to the intellectuals with the
message of truth.

I. The Role of Apologetics in Evangelism

What is Apologetics, the Relevance of Studying Apologetics,


Biblical Basis of Apologetics, and The Character of the
Apologist.

II. Introduction To The Foundations Of Philosophy And


Logic

Philosophy (Love Of Wisdom) And Its Major Branches: Logic:


Study Of The Principles Of Reasoning; Axiology : Study Of
Values; Epistemology : Theory Of Knowledge; Metaphysics :
Study Of Ultimate Reality (It Includes Both Ontology (Study
Of Being) And Cosmology (Study Of The Structure Of
Universe); First principles.

III. Three steps towards Christian apologetics

A. Philosophical Apologetics (Defending The Truth


Against The Non-Theological World Views)

1. The Nature And Scope Of Logic: Terms, Propositions


And Syllogisms; Inductive Logic; Deductive Logic;
Fundamental Laws Of Logic; Fallacies; The Limits Of
Humanly Generated Principles Of Logic; The Ultimate
Center Of Logic For Man Is In The Character Of God
As Revealed In The Bible.

2. Attitudes, which Hinder The Possibility Of Coming To


The Knowledge Of The Truth: Agnosticism,
Skepticism, Relativism

3. Inadequate Approaches Or Worldviews To Attain
