Autonomous Standby Power Supply Unit (ASPSU)

The ASPSU is installed in the right side of the

electronics bay between STA1393/FR19 and
STA1446/FR20. If electrical power is not
available from the related busbars, an internal
monitor device (in the ASPSU) connects the
ASPSU to the RPWS. The ASPSU then
supplies 28 V DC electrical power to the
RPWS for a maximum of 1 hour at normal
temperatures. The ASPSU also has a heater
to help the function of the battery packs at low
temperatures.
