The one-page portfolio site is a tricky thing to pull off, but Kfouri succeeds well in giving his colourful and impactful visuals – including single images

enjoy and appreciate the wide scope of his work at a leisurely pace.

• Social Media Branding

Portfolio evaluation
I think my portfolio turned out to be quite decent as it is layed out neatly, with
lots of my past to present work included. It is, however jumbled up in a way even
though I tried to set them out in categories it would have been better, and more
effective if I had all the categories in a row and once clicked on, it would showcase
all the projects I have done within that category instead of a big page with all my
work on.

Evaluation
Evaluation of findings

Discuss why communication and presentation skills are important for progression within art and design education or related employment
Communication and presentation will help with delivering project proposals and it will help with understanding other people’s thoughts and opinions.
Bad communication will result in a bad outcome, for example if you’re giving a bad presentation to your potential boss/clients then they’ll think that the presentation you just delivered will be reflected in the quality of your
work which isn’t true. Verbal communication will help with interviews too, if you have bad communication skills then it will be picked up on in interviews and may result in a declined interview/job position.

Comparing communication and presentation styles

Compare all the communication and presentation styles we have looked at in unit 9, also choose a favourite that you think is most effective and a least favourite and explain. Dicuss how they can help. Relate it
back to being a designer and design student...

CV:
A CV will help the agency determain whether you are fit for purpose and it allows yourself to stand out from the rest and impress.

Cover Letter:
A cover letter creates an instant judgment of yourself to your potential work place so it is very important that is done well and efficiently

Digital Portfolio:
Portfolios are the most important communication/presentation style and always will be. It is presenting people with your past work and skills. Without a portfolio people
won’t be able to judge your style of work and abilities leaving you without a creative job.

Presentation / Critques:
Presentations are very important which allow you to show off your communication skills and delivery to others which is an important tool to have while working in the

2 Year Action Plan
Aims for the next 2 years

What would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail?

If I couldn’t fail I would proceed to university to gain a degree in graphic design and go on to obtain futhur high-
er qualifications in the same field of study.

Is anything holding you back and if so, how could you change this?
I think my motivation levels are holding me back, I could possibly change this by setting myself targets and goals
or even personal treats like if I pass a course I’d take myself on holiday.

What do you want to have realistically achieved by the end of 2 years?

Realistically speaking, I’d like to have obtained an extended diploma in Graphic Design which is the equivelant to
an A level qualification.
What are your options and priorities for the next 2 years?
My options are quite closed, however I want to stay on the Graphic Design course I’m currently on and achieve
the best outcome I can by working very hard and defeating my lack of motivation.
Create a realistic vision of your future, which takes into account your work and your life:
My vision for my future is passing my graphic design course, and either getting a job with that qualification or
go to univeristy to study it in greater detail with a higher qualification which will enable me to be a professional
graphic design with a much more open doored future with many job opputunities.

Overall:
By the end of 2 years I would like to pass the course, I will do this by trying my hardest in the course. The only help I’d like is guidance and to be informed exactly what I need to do to pass.
