Parasol Roofing ! One of His various roofing practice on residential buildings found in His own residence in
Dhanmondi ! Interior is composed with different volumes of spaces, connections in various layers, and the
semi-outdoor spaces, all under in one roof, Parasol ! One solid building in brick with concrete roof and some
other details made the building unique ! His notion in climate response and structural clarity with highly
controlled details in brick, joining and overall proportions are the true Muzharul Islam identity ! Its now
using as a residence for owner of Rahmat Group ! Modifications, additions and structural change damaged
the sexiness of the building. Its highly restricted to get in side of this house and to take pictures ! 8

this is truly a masterpiece. I asked sir why he sold it. he took a long pause and said 'for money'. so sad. It
has been altered many times. I haven't been inside. I wish I could. This is a masterpiece because it fuses
the pavilion with the hut in section. These two are archetypes of our delta. He fused the two types
horizontally in the college of arts. 5

my pleasure. like life of pie stories are added to architecture! but when architecture is at it's best it
doesn't need one! as I say, your body will tell you when light and environment are in peace with it. There is
an intellectual story but all that lasts is the emotional content a work of art embodies and tells in a
language of its own. to me All else is superfluous. 4
