manufactured in Manila by Dy Buncio & Co., Inc.
2.WALINNG-WALING FACE POWDER- Popular in the 1940’s, Waling-Waling face powder was

Assignment no. 2
GENERATION AND AGE BASED DIFFERENCES:
1. SILENT GENERATION/ VETERANS- Those kids who were born on year 1920-1944 with a personality
of being persevering, loyal, conservative, thrifty and optimistic.
2BABY BOOMERS- In the Philippines, Baby Boomers grew up in an abundant and healthy post-war
economy. This is an egocentric generation; seeing themselves at the center of the world or as the saviors
of the world. Work has become crucial in their evaluation of themselves and others. They actually live to
work. For the Boomer, work-life balance is just a novel idea... a rare and distant possibility at best. This
has often been a point of tension between them and the newer generations.
3. GENERATION X- born on year 1966-1986. They work best alone, saying they can cover more ground
when they work by themselves. Having grown up during the genesis of the Information Superhighway,
this generation easily switches between the use of technology and traditional methods of working and
gathering information (physical libraries and archives are theirs for the browsing when the internet goes
down).

4. MILLENNIALS- Much has been said about millennials – roughly defined as those who were born
between 1980 and 2000. Millennials in the Philippines are described as those who are social media-
dependent and also, the “selfie” generation. Many things describe what a millennial is. According to The
Week, millennials are usually spendthrifts. Millennials in the Philippines are known to usually spend for
luxury goods which leave their bank accounts shaken—the reason why they are also described as
“broke.” Millennials are also described as narcissist, making them known as the “Me, Me, Me
Generation.”

Assignment no. 3
Today’s workplace is becoming more diverse and there is a growing sense that this new workforce is
quite different. Although the diversity can actually be productive and lead to innovation, when not handled
well, the differences in generations may lead to discord, conflict and have detrimental effects on
relationships and productivity. There is a greater sense that leaders and companies need to better
understand this new generation of workers.
