Is He Not the Carpenter, the Son of Mary? – In today’s Gospel, Jesus is una-
ble to perform many miracles in his hometown because of the lack of faith of the
people there. They fail to trust in him as the Son of God because they cannot see
past him as the son of Mary and the carpenter. Instead of seeing with the eyes of
faith they let the limits of their human sight get the better of them. Do we often
fail to see with the eyes of faith? Are there times where we limit God’s work in
our lives and in the world because we are unable to trust in the power of his
love? To see with the eyes of faith allows us to recognize God’s work in the world, in the Church and
in others for us, and in us for others. There are no limits to what God is capable of doing through our
lives, for “nothing is impossible with God.” On Mission for The Church Alive! is an opportunity for
us to grow in trust of the amazing things that God can do in and through us for the good of the
Church and of our communities. Don’t limit the great work of God. Visit onmissionchurchalive.org
to learn more and to stay informed.
