Windows 7 - Create a System Repair Disc on a Bootable USB Flash Drive

Create a USB flash drive which has the same functionality as a system repair disc - startup repair,
system restore, image recovery, and command prompt. Some computers may take more time to
boot from USB, although newer machines should boot faster. This method should also work with
a USB hard drive. I will be working on a method to do this without burning a disc.

The point of this is is to create a recovery "disc" on a USB drive, and the first step is to create one
with an actual disc? Just stupid really.. The point here is, I don't have a disc laying around, if I did,
I'd probably use that instead.

I'm sure you could scarf up at least one disc, dude. And that's the point, that disc can become
ruined and you'd have to track down another. This way, you have a recovery stick that you could
store somewhere safe without high likelihood of it going bad.

Pls tell me I made a system image on my ext hdd. And my hdd is no longer working after a power
failure. So I bought a new hdd. Can I use the repair disc and use the system image(like making an
exact copy of my old hdd lol) without installing windows 7 first? or should I install windows 7
first? thanks

If you still have the disk image located anywhere on your computer you can recover whatever
was on the hard drive through system restore without a windows 7 repair disc

This was great! Thank you for the instruction. Something others might know but I didn't is that
reformatting the disk doesn't "erase" it as far at the repair disk creation goes. I figured reformat
would erase. It didn't. I had to use the Erase command.

HI hope you can "still" read this comment..
im having a problem on selecting the partition.. whenever i "select partition 1" , it says "THERE IS
NO PARTITION SELECTED"

hence, i couldnt make it "active"

and also i noticed that from the partition list, there's an '*' before the partition 1 whereas in your
video there shouldnt be one..

So... With this disk, I can reinstall the entire Windows 7?
I'll just put it in and reboot, then the computer asks if i want to clean the entire computer and
reinstall a fresh Windows 7 without ANY other files?

Omg fucking god. I couldn't create a windows 7 repair disc, so I got one off of Pirate Bay since
mine is lost. I didn't know what to do. Then I saw that the files in this video are the same as the

Man,I had Windows Vista Home before I install Windows 7 ultimate in my computer.But now my
computer is having trouble, it turns off itself and has many errors and things like that.But, when I

I got two questions? 1. say i wanted to put windows 7 on a computer that originally had win. xp,

is the repair disc the same as a recovery disc? got a new dell and right from the start it had me
back up something on to my external hard drive... then i couldn't find it again. this repair disc
was just over 100mb vs my vista recovery disc it took three dvd's.
