Stage 1 – Desired Results

Actions:
 Identification of the most common difficulties regarding linguistic
competence in students. For example: spelling, reading comprehension,
correct use of punctuation marks, word order in English, categories of words
in Spanish.
 Identification of key words for every unit in Natural Science and Social
Science.
 Research on experiences of coordination: brainstorming with teachers at

 Identify and prioritize specific areas of coordination.
 Agree on methodology and techniques to work on priorities.
 Design of activities, taking into account the priorities and the topics to study

 Reading comprehension with texts related to the topics,

 Agree on a code of colour for different word categories (nouns, verbs,

 Agree on routines to work on spelling. For example:
 presentation of the words of the week with flashcards (or a digital
presentation),
 build words with letters made on pieces of cardboard,
 unscramble words,
 write letters with stamps,
 short spelling exam at the end of the week.
 Apply these agreed techniques and activities in class.
 Reflect about the results of the actions applied, both regarding the process
(engagement of students, difficulties when applying, time required, etc.) and
the results after the assessment of students.
