1 Before You Start

To manage an NE, the corresponding NE version component package must be installed on the
CME. For the component package that is required for the installation, see section "Related NE
Product Versions" in the iManager U2000-CME V200R015C10SPC240Release Notes.
After the CME is upgraded, the previously installed CME components are automatically
uninstalled. You need to reinstall the CME components.
Contact Huawei technical support engineers to obtain the software versions, tool software,
and related documents mentioned in this document.

1.1 Impacts of the Component Installation

Impacts on Services
The CME services will be interrupted.

Impacts on Network Communications

None

Impacts on the U2000

None

1.2 Precautions
Operations performed on the OSMU for an ATAE server differ from those on a Sun server.
You must perform OSMU-related operations based on the actual server types.
In the U2000 remote HA system (Sun Remote HA System Veritas), see section " Installing the
CME Component in the Remote HA System (Sun Remote HA System Veritas)" in the
iManager U2000-CME V200R015C10SPC240 Component Installation Guide.

2 Preparing for the Component Installation

2.1 Obtaining Server Information

Before installing CME components, ensure that you have obtained necessary server
information. The required information varies according to server types.
 Sun server
− IP address of the U2000 server
− Password of user root on the U2000 server
− Password of user ossuser on the U2000 server
 ATAE server
− IP address of the OSMU server
− Password of user admin on the OSMU server
− IP address of the U2000 server
− Password of user root on the U2000 server
− Password of user ossuser on the U2000 server

2.2 Obtaining the Software Required for the Upgrade

The package of CME components is released in the following two methods:
 Method 1: The package of CME components is released with the CME software
package. The NE component package is released with the CME software package, which
contains components of all NEs supported by the CME of this version.
Contact Huawei technical support engineers to obtain the package, perform the following
steps:
1 In the address box of Internet Explorer, enter http://support.huawei.com.
2 In the displayed window, click Log In.
3 Specify the values for User Name, Password, and Verify Code, and click Login.
4 choose Support > Software > Wireless Network > SingleOSS > SingleOSS > M2000-
Common > iManager U2000-CME.

XXX_pkg.tar after downloading it to a local PC. Obtain
 CME_COMPONENT_XXX the component package of the
XXXXX_pkg.tar corresponding NE type in the
CMEComponent_XXX folder.

The naming styles vary according

to NE versions. Package name formats vary with NE
types.

Method 2: The package of CME components is released with the NE version. If an NE patch
is released later than the latest CME version, the NE patch component for the
CME will be released together with the NE patch version on Huawei support
website. The related CME versions are described in the related NE release notes.
If an NE patch is released earlier than the latest CME version, the NE patch component for
the CME will be released together with the latest CME version on Huawei support website. In
this case, you need to use the NE patch component released with the CME version.
Contact Huawei technical support engineers to obtain the package, perform the following
steps:
1 In the address box of Internet Explorer, enter http://support.huawei.com.
6 In the displayed window, click Log In.
7 Specify the values for User Name, Password, and Verify Code, and click Login.
