Uniqueness of AKIJ PCC:

Salinity Resistant:
Additional CSH gel of Blast Furnace Slag Cement can protect sulfate attack SO4 + Ca (OH)2 =
Ettringite and permeability of concrete. Akij Cement is salinity Resistant Cement because of low
permeability in salty environments.
Anti-Crack:

During hydration process in mass concreting, inner temperature is too high. Akij Cement mitigates
this inner high temperature by producing more CSH gel resulting in reduced thermal cracks.
Resists Dampness:

Fly Ash is a Carbon compound which attracts moisture from environment. Blast Furnace Slag is a
Calcareous and Alumino-Silicate compound which does not attract environmental moisture. Thus,
Akij Cement is damp-resistant cement.
Corrosion Resistant:

CSH gel of Blast Furnace Slag Cement holds concrete together with reinforcement [Rod], resulting
in lower permeability. It also reduces chloride-ion and other air access to the RCC. Thus Akij Cement
can protect steel corrosion of inner structure.
Environment Friendly Green Cement:

Fly Ash use in cement is hazardous to health due to the presence of heavy metals like Arsenic,
Cadmium, Chromium, etc. Fly Ash free Akij Cement substantially reduces additional load on
environment by reducing 45% natural limestone use, 40% of CO2 emission and 40% energy
consumption in its production process. Even the cement bag is biodegradable making Akij Cement a
truly Green Cement.
Fair Facing:

Akij Cement yields ‘whitish’ shade or lighter colored cement suitable for fair facing of the structure.
This also reduces the color cost. Reputed structural engineers are now suggesting Akij Cement for
fair facing of valuable structures.
