In order to calculate concrete quantity, we need to know how volume is calculated. In order to calculate
volume of rectangular cuboid, it is best to use formula L x B x H which gives the value in unit3.
For a circular column, its volume can be calculated by using formula πr2h which will also give volume in
unit3.
Density of materials
Dry Volume = Wet Volume + 54% of wet volume Dry Volume = Wet Volume x 1.54
We have been given Grade – M15 and we have to calculate the quantity of cement, sand and aggregate
in cft, cum and kg.
Volume = 10 cubic meter
This is wet volume, so we need to convert it into dry volume.
Actual volume x Aggregate ratio x 35.31 = 2.2 x 4 x 35.31 = 310 cubic feet
Actual volume x Aggregate ratio x density = 2.2 x 4 x 1600 = 14080 kg
Actual volume x Aggregate ratio = 2.2 x 4 = 8.8 cubic meter
