Dedicated to my brother Danny. You love this game and it is because you
mentioned this game earlier that I have gone back to play through it for the
first time in years. I only hope this FAQ lives up to your skills at this
game!

Also, for Cougar, Howler, Koonce, and Gracey. I miss you, and I hope you
are living it up in the afterlife as you did in this world. You will always
be in my memories, and you will never be forgotten.

---------------------------------Introduction-------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

1) Well, this is a truly unique game in a field that is often choked with
way too many RPGs. How is it unique you ask? Well, how about L'il
Flying UFO's, Hippies performing ridiculous feats to affect your
character, people living inside a fenced off area and thinking they have
caged the world, enemies from the future, everyday items being used as
deadly weapons (baseball bats, frying pans, and yo-yos to name a few),
and of course, a Hero who picks through the trash, grabs the Food inside,
and then consumes it? Welcome to the odd, sometimes scary, and downright
goofy world of Earthbound!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

3) This section will give a quick look into the characters that dot the
adventure that Ness is about to embark upon.

o-----------------o
| Main Characters |
o-----------------o

====
Ness
====

The hero, the myth, the kid called Spanky (by Pokey anyway). He wears his
red cap as he tours around the world, fighting the forces of Giygas as he
was destined to do.

Ness does not have extraordinary abilities like his three fellow companions
along the journey, but he does boast the highest Hit Points and Guts
ratings. He also gets PSI Special (named whatever you name it) that no one
else gets, and it can deliver some spectacular damage to all the enemies on
screen.

=====
Paula
=====

The pre-school helper to her parents, the PSI spell vixen, and occasional
kidnap victim! Paula may disappear from action every now and then, but she
carries her weight.

Paula has a special ability called Pray. When she does this, random effects
can occur, whether good or bad, for both her allies and enemies! She has
the lowest Hit Points of all the main characters, but she also boasts PSI
Points that essentially equal her Hit Point totals, allowing her to use a
wide array of her PSI spells over and over.

====
Jeff
====

Boarding School drop out, smarter than the average human, and a master of
all things mechanical (ie he is a NERD!). Jeff comes along third into your
party, bringing with him the most unique sets of weaponry in the game.

Jeff has a special ability called Spy. This ability will allow Jeff to
ascertain all the stats of an enemy, including their Hit Points and any
weaknesses that they possess. Jeff makes use of rays, guns, and beams for
main weaponry, while using Bombs, Bottle Rockets, and repaired Items as good
alternatives to his main weaponry.
===
Poo
===

The Prince of Dalaam, trained in the methods of Moo, and named after human
excrement! Coming into the party last, this high class fellow can not
stomach western food.

Poo has a special ability called Mirror. This allows Poo to emulate the
abilities of an enemy, using the moves of said enemy for thw good of his
allies. Poo possesses few things he can equip (he only gets one for each
type of equippability), he has good Hit Points and PSI Points totals, and he
learns a wide array of PSI Spells (think Ness and Paula mixed) as well as
PSI Starstorm ( a massively damaging spell). He is a welcome addition,
although he begins his training late in the game.

o-----------------------o
| Supporting Characters |
o-----------------------o

===
Mom
===

Ness's Mother will feed the group Ness's favourite food to refill their Hit
Points and PSI Points, she will rid Ness of his homesickness, and she will
provide encouragement to her baby boy. She will be a continual source of
help throughout the game.

===
Dad
===

Ness's Father will never appear physically in the game, but he will talk to
Ness over the phone, saving his progress, cashing his money won from
enemies, and telling the team how much more experience is needed to gain a
level. You will speak to him on many occasions through out the game.

=====
Tracy
=====

Ness's sister Tracy will start working at Escargot Express (despite their
name, they do work fast) partway into the game, allowing Ness and company to
have her store Items they do not want/can not get rid of (for a small fee of
course!).

==========
Mach Pizza
==========

Once Ness gets to Twoson, he can call these guys to deliver a Pizza Pie to
him (for a decent amount of money) that will help refill lost Hit Points.
Just be sure to have cash on hand and to not go where the delivery guys can
not go.

============
Runaway Five
============

A Blues band that are guilty of two things: 1) getting themselves into
terrible financial straits, and 2) ripping off the Blues Brothers of
Saturday Night Live fame. These guys will always seem to be in trouble, so
bail them out to receive some help, usually advancing your crew further
through their adventure.

===========
Mr. Saturns
===========

These oddly speaking fellows will assist your characters a few times along
the way. They will prove to be good allies, despite their odd sentence
structure. BOING!

========================
Apple Kid & Dr. Andonuts
========================

These two will help the group out multiple times, supplying ueful inventions
that get you where you need to go.

=========
Buzz Buzz
=========

A warrior from the future, he will help Ness get through a tough battle
early in the game.

==========
Flying Man
==========

Found in Magicant, these brave warriors will accompany Ness to lend their
strength.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------Walkthrough---------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

4) This section will have the step-by-step method for getting through the
game.

o-----------------------------------o
| Things That Go Bump In The Night! |
o-----------------------------------o

Onett, a peaceful place at night (as the lovely scene that starts you off
will show), but that is shattered by a massive explosion! Sirens will be
heard off in the distance as a tousle-haired Ness comes from his bed. Head
out the door to the hall, heading straight across to go downstairs (maybe
stop by and see your Sister first) to find your mother who insists you
change into proper clothes before you leave.

Now back in your room, head out the door again, stopping by your Sister's
room to grab the Cracked Bat from the Giftbox (be sure to equip it). Now
head downstairs once more to leave the house. Head to the path below,
turning left until the fork (head down). Follow the edge of the cliff (talk
to anyone along the way for some info on the happenings), and when you reach
a part where the path leads upwards, go right to grab a Bread Roll from a
Giftbox first (then go up). Continue your trek by going right to find the
crash site of the meteorite as well as your neighbour Pokey annoying the
Officers.

After speaking to them, head back to your house and talk to your Mother to
head off to bed. However, someone will start knocking on the door soon
after (in a VERY obnoxious manner no less), so send Ness down to find Pokey!
After hearing how he lost his little brother Picky (through no fault of his
own of course), agree to help and talk to your Mother who offers the dog's
help. Now head downstairs after changing (your mommie loves you so much!),
take a Cookie from your Sister, and then grab Pokey and King to get your
rescue party assembled.

As you start towards the door, the phone rings. Even though you are busy,
your Mother will let you answer to talk to your Father who offers to save
your game through out your journey as well as tell you he deposited money
into your account (always talk to him to Save and find out how much money
you have earned since you talked to him last). Now you can head out the
door for real.

o-------------------------o
| Off We Go To Find Picky |
o-------------------------o

Start out by re-tracing your steps to the summit of the hill again where the
Meteorite crashed, but this time, wild animals will attack your party! You
can see them come after your party, initiating a fight scene. If the two
groups meet head on, the swirl into battle will be black, indicating both
parties can attack in the first round. If the enemy attacks your party from
behind, a red swirl will lead into battle where only the enemy will get to
attack first. If your party manages to get the surprise drop on the enemy,
a green swirl will lead into battle where only your party will get to attack
for the first round.

Now that that is out of the way, you will head for the Meteorite. Once you
arrive, King will run off (well, at least he is an honest dog!), so go grab
Picky from where he is crying (although he is already much nicer to have
around than Pokey... smarter than him too). Start to head home, and a
buzzing noise will assault the group. This bee (not really a bee) is named
Buzz Buzz, and he will join your crew after telling of the horrors that Ness
might be able to stop.

o-----------------------------o
| Futuristic Enemy And Sorrow |
o-----------------------------o
Continue back towards home (no enemies to annoy your party), and as you head
up towards the right hand turn towards home, a beam of light will shatter
the night! This will enter your crew into their first BOSS FIGHT!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Starman Junior ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
H.P.: 200
P.P.: 999
Exp.: 16
Starman Junior brings his impressive array of PSI spells to battle, but Buzz
Buzz will have Shields in place to protect your party from them. This
battle is not really a battle as you are destined to win this one thanks to
Buzz Buzz (he does all of the work with Shields and damaging attacks).
Now that you have finished the bad guy off (it appears Giygas knows of Buzz
Buzz's plan), you will need to be careful. Head into Pokey's house to see
the two boys get in a lot of trouble (Pokey's Dad beats them evidently) and
Pokey's Mom will cause Buzz Buzz to die when she swats him! Talk to Buzz
Buzz to learn of the "Your Sanctuary" locations, which will help Ness defeat
Giygas! He gives you a Sound Stone to record their melodies and tells of
Giant Step before he finally passes...
o---------------------------o
| The Onett Town Run Around |
o---------------------------o
Step outside of Pokey's house and head next door (get a photograph done) to
see your Mother for a free fill-up of HP/PP courtesy of your favourite
homemade food, and then start going south towards town. Turn west to find
the library (you can get a set of town maps for convenience as you travel as
well as getting some good tips), and then head northwest of the library to
where a dirty kid patrols. go to his right to be against the trees, and
then go up through the hidden path to enter the hideout he was guarding to
speak to the kid with the red cap to get his Mr. Baseball Cap (be sure to
equip it).
Continue to the northwest to find some people milling around the entrance to
Giant Step, which has been locked away by someone at City Hall! Head back
to the east, and follow the path south to enter into Onett proper. Check
the Garbage can to find a Hamburger (still edible apparently as Ness likes
to eat out of trash cans), followed by a trip past the Burger Shop to the
Drug Store to shop over the following Items:
____________ _______ _____________
| Name | Price | Stat/Effect |
|____________|_______|_____________|
|Cracked Bat | $18 |+2 Offense |
|____________|_______|_____________|
|Tee Ball | | |
|Bat | $48 |+8 Offense |
|____________|_______|_____________|
| | | |
|Yo-Yo | $29 |+6 Offense |
|____________|_______|_____________|
|Baseball | | |
|Cap | $19 |+5 Defense |
|____________|_______|_____________|
|Cheap | | |
|Bracelet | $98 |+5 Defense |
|____________|_______|_____________|
|Cold Remedy | $22 |Cures a cold |
|____________|_______|_____________|
You should invest in a Tee Ball Bat and a Cheap Bracelet if you wish to be
optimally equipped, If you can not afford both, come back later with more
cash.
Now head down south to the next block and walk around to the southern side
to enter City hall, where you should head through to find the Mayor. he
will be unable to help you (too busy apparently), but maybe if you solved
one of his problems he would be willing to meet with you. The Sharks would
make a good target, so go get started!
So now you should spend some time fighting the local Sharks (gang members)
for some experience as well as cash (buy any Items you need, and the Pogo
Punks will often leave Hamburgers behind after getting beat). Once you feel
you are strong enough (level 5 is the lowest recommended for this), head to
the south end of town and enter the arcade (the Sharks are usually focused
in that area of town). Once inside, you should make tracks for the back
door (you will have to fight an aggressive Shark as well as the guardian
Shark at the back door) to find yourself in the backyard for the boss of the
Sharks, Frank, is waiting! Fill up your Hit Points and then go talk to
Frank to enter into battle!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Frank ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

H.P.: 63

P.P.: 0

Exp.: 50

Frank has no PP, so he will just use his brandish a knife attack (hard
hitting), comes out swinging (much less damage), and he can also say
something nasty to drop your guts level (seriously, that is the attack
name). Your goal is to go in swinging with your Tee Ball Bat, only
stopping if he keeps landing those brandishing knife attacks to use a
healing item/PSI Lifeup alpha.

After his defeat, he takes it badly and sics that weird creation in the
corner of the yard on you!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Frankystein Mark II ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
H.P.: 90
P.P.: 0
Exp.: 76
This behemoth is actually not difficult at all. It will spend the first
round generating steam, then it will throw a punch/tear at you on the
second round. Then it will just repeat this pattern of attacking every
second round, so your job is to just bust it into a pile of punk with
repeated bashings from your Tee Ball Bat. You may need to use a healing
Item/Lifeup alpha once because of your damage from your tussle with Frank
however.
Well, you bested the Sharks that not even the Police could handle (funny how
that works), so head for City hall and head upstairs to see the Mayor. He
will grant your request for the Key to the Shack (provided you promise to
not say he was responsible if you get hurt... like any good politician
would), so head out to the entertainers shack that is northwest of town and
open the door to the shack. Grab the Travel Charm from an entertainer (be
sure to equip it), and then pass through the shack to start your trek to
Giant Step!
o---------------------------------o
| First "Your Sanctuary" Location |
o---------------------------------o
Head left (remembering that the Rowdy Mice can SMAAAAAAAAASH! you easily) to
go up to the first hole in the wall you see to find a Skip Sandwhich in a
Giftbox. Now go back to the main cave, turn left, and continue until you
find a rope leading up the cliff (the cave to the left is empty). Head over
to the right (fighting through Rowdy Mice, Attack Slugs, and Black Antoids)
to pass a rope leading up the cliff to get a Cold Remedy from the cave to
the right (then return to the rope and climb on up). Now head left to find
the exit, leading to the outside world.
While out here, cruise around looking for a Magic Butterfly as they are
commonly spawned in this area. Once you are ready, head left to go into the
second portion of the cave.
Grab the Hamburger from the Giftbox here and then go through the hole above,
followed by going to the left here to pass through another cave opening. Now
you will need to climb up the two long ropes to arrive at a strange
apparition blocking the cave opening. Go talk to it to meet the new owner
of the "Your Sanctuary" location, although he is willing to fight over it!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Titanic Ant ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

H.P.: 235

P.P.: 102

Exp.: 685

Well, your first true test in a Boss Fight. Not only does the Titanic Ant
have some good attack power, but he can also use a wide array of PSI
attacks, including: Magnet alpha (steals your P.P.), Defense Down alpha
(lowers Ness's defense), and Shield alpha (protects against damage better).
Also in addition to the above stats, two Black Antoids will accompany the
oversized insect. Start off the fight with a PSI "Special" (referred to as
Special from here on out, but it will be named to whatever your favourite
thing you entered was), which should kill off the Black Antoids as well as
damage the Titanic Ant a bit. Now you can either Bash away (if you wish
your P.P. to be for Lifeup alpha) or continue to use PSI Special (if you
have Hamburgers for healing purposes). Either way, keep on attacking, only
taking time to heal when necessary, and the Ant should fall quickly.

Now head outside and walk towards the Giant Step to receive the first melody
from the Earth and to catch a glimpse of King from when he was a puppy!

o----------------------------------o
| On To Twoson, But The Police...? |
o----------------------------------o

Since the Giant Step refilled your HP/PP, head back through the cave, taking
time to fight the enemies who are now afraid of you (getting lots of green
swirls and automatic victories) to finally exit. However, upon exiting, the
Police will accost you for disobeying the sign saying "Do Not Enter", and
after you answer his question (you are either a dumb kid or a smart ass),
you will be told to visit the Police Station.

Now you are free to cruise through town again, so stop by your Mother's to
heal up for free and buy anything you wish to. Once you are done in town,
it is time to go visit the police Station as ordered (check the southwest
end of town).

Talk to the second officer in front of the desk and say yes you wish to go
to Twoson to go into a room where the Captain has led you to fight five of
Onett's bravest for the right! They have been corrupted by Giygas's
influence, so you better render them unconscious (you will only have to fight
four as one runs away).

~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Cop ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~
H.P.: 75
P.P.: 0
Exp.: 86
Simply use your Bash attacks against these consecutive fights, remembering
to use healing Items/Lifeup alpha as necessary because you have to heal on
the go. The Cops can use a regular attack (lower damage) or a Crushing Chop
(massive damage), so they will drain your Hit Points continually.
After routing his forces, the Captain will step in to teach you a lesson!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Captain Strong ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

H.P.: 140

P.P.: 0

Exp.: 492
This guy can hit you with a couple hard hitting physical attacks in come out
swinging and submission hold, and he can also lose his temper to increase
his offensive capabilities. If you want to use the PSI Points, hit him with
the PSI Special once before resorting to bashing his mustached face in.
Be sure to keep your Hit Points high as he can hit Ness really hard without
a moments notice.

Now you should visit your mother or the Hotel if you wish to rest. Whenever
you are ready, head south to pass by the Police that have removed the
roadblocks and start towards Twoson. he first house you will come across
contains a free item named an "Exit Mouse" (allows Ness to leave a dungeon
automatically), so you may wish to grab one as you go. Keep heading south
until the path finally leads into the forest.

o--------------------------o
| The Paula Disappearance! |
o--------------------------o

You will reappear in a new area with new colours and music, so you MUST BE
in a new town (as the rules in RPGs go anyway). Head on down the path to
enter into Twoson, where you can do some exploring. Be sure to go to the
Cycle Shop to get a free bike (only one person and no carrying Teddy Bears
while riding), the Chaos Theatre, and a few other spots. Also be sure to
drop by the Department Store for some great deals:

After finally finishing your shopping sprees in these two areas, you should
head for the shack in the middle of Burglin park, where a Mr. Everdred is
rumoured to be (and he may know something about this Paula you have heard
about). As you near, he will leap off of the roof and engage you in battle!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Everdred ~~~

H.P.: 182

P.P.: 0

Exp.: 986

This guy has a wide array of possible moves, including: Steal (takes an
item), Bite (does decent damage), and knit Brow as well as Grin (wastes a

turn). However, he can inflict good damage when he does attack, so use PSI
Special if you can, and use your bash attack otherwise to win quickly.

He will reveal that Paula headed for peaceful Rest Valley to relax, but was
captured by a fat kid and some deranged fellow who wish to sacrifice her!
You should get yourself prepped with some Items before journeying out (if
you pass the Hotel, stop in to bug the fellow at the tables for some money
and keep at him until he coughs it up).

Before you head out of town though, grab a piece of food and 200 dollars,
and head south to the road leading out of town. Look for a house with a
sign advertising the Apple Kid, and go inside there to give him food and the
money. His mouse will give you a receiver Phone, which allows the Apple Kid
to talk to Ness whenever he invents something (you are funding his work
after all).

Now that you have completed that task, head back up the road and turn east
at the intersection. Go past the Bus Station and continue east to find a
small cave to pass through. Pass through it to end up at Peaceful Rest
Valley.

The girl you see will pay 50 dollars for each mushroom you bring to her
(they will grow out of your head via an Evil Mushroom's spores), so that is
good to know. However, many of the enemies will be increased in strength
in this area, so be ready.

head up along the river, past the first broken bridge to find an iron
Pencil-Shaped Statue blocks the way. return back to Twoson through the same
method you came, and when you come back, the Receiver Phone will ring!
Answer it to learn that the Apple Kid has an invention for you! Go to his
place and you will find out he is not there (although the Orange Kid knows
where he is). Go to Burglin park and find him. He shall give you a Pencil
Eraser (JUST WHAT YOU NEED! I am shocked by this revelation too), so return
once more to Peaceful Rest Valley.

Once you have eradicated the Pencil Statue, you can cross the bridge that is
still standing (if you go north of it, you can get a photo done at the
rapids in the river). Now across the bridge, head east along the water
turning south as the path does to find a fork where they lead west and
north. Head north first to find a Giftbox holding a Travel Charm, followed
by going south (take the path on the right) to find a Luck Capsule in a
Giftbox.

return to the last fork and choose the other path, going south past the
broken bridge to follow the river to find a Giftbox holding a Criossant.
Now turn east to pass the path leading up to find a Giftbox with a Bomb,
followed by returning west to skirt the escarpment as you head northeast to
find a bridge. Cross the bridge, go north to find a fork, and turn west to
find a Hard Hat in a Giftbox.

Return to the fork in the path, go east and then south to find a small path
leading way south to a Cup Of Lifenoodles. Now return to the previous path
choice and go west to pass through a cave to find Happy Happy Village!

Now that you have arrived in an odd little town with an unhealthy
fascination on the colour Blue (as you will soon see), explore the town
itself (be wary of blue-robed people as they will attack Ness). In fact,
the local store has a few good deals going on:

You can also steal to your heart's content (or pay), but with no one to
collect the cash, you can earn lots of money by stealing Eggs and letting
them hatch into Chickens (You will have to fight one fellow though if you do
steal). Once you are done exploring the town, head into the cave to the
left of the Drug Store.

After passing through the brief cave, enter the cabin you find to meet
Paula! She will ask you to take out Carpainter (leader of the Blue Blu Cult
in Happy Happy Village) to get the keys to bust her out, and she then gives
you a Franklin Badge to help deflect the lightning of Carpainter. Head back
outside to find Pokey with some cultists and a Spiteful Crow, who he sics on
you before running away (he is not a brave one after all). After winning
that rather easy battle, head into Happy Happy Village to refill your HP/PP
for free at the house with the blue cow.

Once you are all ready, head for the large house in the middle of town to
find Mr. Carpainter. Now you will have to talk to the Cultists to move them
out of your way and keep moving towards the far side of the room to pass
through a door you find. Head up the stairs in this room to find Mr.
Carpainter with the evil statue you may have seen in Onett. He will bring
lightning to attack you, but the Franklin Badge will reflect it, so
Carpainter will challenge you to a battle!

P.P.: 70

Exp.: 1412

Carpainter has an impressive array of moves, including: a Paint Attack, a

Crash Boom Bang attack (always blocked by the Franklin Badge and reflected
back), Lifeup alpha, and PSI Shield alpha. That said, if he beats you, it
would require you to come into battle super weak or him getting continual
SMAAAAAAAASH! attacks. Just Bash away for the easy victory.

After taking the key for Paula's cage, head back outside to have Pokey
apologize wholeheartedly (YEAH RIGHT!), head through the cave by the Drug
Store again to let Paula loose and have her join you on your journey!

Your first step is to go buy some equipment from the store for her (Ribbon,
and Frying Pan), followed by staying at the house to refill your HP/PP. The
next step is to do some leveling up in the first areas of the cave to the
right of the Drug Store, and once Paula is Level 4 or so, you are finally
ready to tackle the next step of the journey.

o----------------------------------o
| Second "Your Sanctuary" Location |
o----------------------------------o

Head to the right upon entering, go down and to the right to reach a fork,
and you will go down. Follow the path to find a Giftbox containing a Great
Charm (equip it on Paula), and then retrace your steps back to the fork to
go right. Keep going on to the right to find a Giftbox with a Croissant
inside before going down and then right to find a long path leading up along
the water. Now skirt the lake as you turn left to enter a large open area.
Head down and then left to start up on top of the higher escarpment to take
either path (grabbing the Giftbox PSI Caramel near the end), and then
continuing on to the right to find the second pretender to "Your Sanctuary"

location!

~~~ Mondo Mole ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

H.P.: 498

P.P.: 161

Exp.: 5791

This guy can bring out some hard hitting attacks (Attack, Claws, and Tears
Into You) as well as some annoying PSI spells (PSI Shield alpha, Offense Up
alpha, and Lifeup alpha). However, this hard hitter does have one huge
weakness, and that is too Paralysis alpha (if you have omega by now, you are
WAY over leveled), so make use of it from Ness. So, Ness should use
Paralysis alpha to start and Paula should Thunder alpha (risky, but it does
great damage), with Ness changing to Bash attacks/PSI Special after
successfully getting Mondo Mole rendered useless (he will just heal himself
and up his now useless offense).

Step on through the opening, walk among the Lilliput Steps, and receive your
second melody from the Earth while seeing a vision of yourself a child.

o-------------------------------------------o
| Onto Threed... But What About The Ghosts? |
o-------------------------------------------o

Head back through Peaceful Rest Valley to Twoson, where you can catch a bus
to Threed if you like, but the Ghosts in the tunnel will block your way and
turn you back. You will need to do a few steps to get onto the next town,
so follow the steps in the next paragraph. If you wish to get the Mach
Pizza number for help for your party on your journeys, stop into the parlor
beside the Bus station to get their number. You may also wish to return the
rented Bike as it is now useless to you.

Head to the Polestar Preschool and have Paula talk to her parent's (you will
get a useful healing item called a Hand-Aid) and then leave the place to be
met by a messenger from Everdred saying to go meet him. When you do, you
will receive a Wad Of Bills as Everdred heads off to find the Mani Mani
Statue (the evil statue you will have seen twice now on your journey). The
next step is to take Paula to meet the Runaway Five as they want to meet her
in the worst way, so bad in fact he will give you a Backstage Pass to get
into their show!

Enter into the Chaos Theatre, use your Backstage Pass to go inside, and
then talk to the little girl on the far side of the room near the Mr. T
lookalike to get your party into the dressing room. Talk to the band, exit
the room, watch the show, and then go talk to the manager and show him the
Wad Of Bills (be sure to go behind the desk and stand beside him when doing
so). This will release the Runaway Five from their contracts, and they will
be heading out of town. Once you are ready (supplies and the like), talk to
the fat lead singer and get onto the bus to enjoy the rocking ride into
Threed through the ghost tunnel!

o----------------------------------------------o
| Wow... Threed Is Messed Up! What To Do Now? |
o----------------------------------------------o

The Runaway Five will tell you that they will play in Fourside sometime, so
keep an eye out (OOOOO! Foreshadowing!). Anyway, it will become readily
apparent something VERY odd is going in the town of Threed, with all of the
Zombies, Ghosts, and inanimate objects attacking people. You should do a
tour of town, including the Drugstore which holds some valuable Items for
sale:

____________ _______ _____________

| Name | Price | Stat/Effect |
|____________|_______|_____________|
|Minor | | |
|League Bat | $399 |+26 Offense |
|____________|_______|_____________|
|Thick | | |
|Fry Pan | $198 |+20 Offense |
|____________|_______|_____________|
|Hard Hat | $298 |+15 Defense |

|Insecticide | |Damage Insect|
|Spray | $19 |enemies |
|____________|_______|_____________|
|Copper | | |
|Bracelet | $349 |+10 Defense |
|____________|_______|_____________|

Anyway, you should also stop into the tent in the centre of town to find out
from the people still breathing about what is going on and then you should
head out exploring into the surround countryside, mainly the graveyard to
the northwest to town. After finding the two guard Zombies at the
underground entrance to the north of the cemetery, head back into town
towards the Hotel where people have seen a woman talking to the Zombies. As
she enters the Hotel, follow her (man is that Music MESSED UP!) all the way
to her room where you are ambushed!

You awake in a locked room, at which point Paula calls out to a friend far
away that she has never met and pleads for help!

o--------------------------------o
| Winters... A Place of Andonuts |
o--------------------------------o

Get Tony to join Jeff, raid the Cookies next door if you like, and then head
downstairs to find Maxwell in a lab room where he gives the Key To The
Locker. After you try it and it fails to work (it is bent after all),
return to get the Bad Key Machine instead, and raid all of the lockers to
get a Holmes Hat, a Pop Gun, and a Broken Air Gun. Now head outside and
have Tony boost Jeff over the fence.
Head right to enter the Drugstore, buy a pack of Bubblegum from the lady in
pink, and then leave the store to head south to find the Tessie Watchers.
Take on the enemies as you go, winning food and raising Jeff's levels. Look
for the tent where the stew is and stay over night. In the morning, head
onto the peninsula and the Bubble Monkey will summon Tessie to take Jeff
across to the far shore.

Head south to find a dungeon, so go inside. Take the higher path to the
left to get a Bread Roll from a Giftbox, then return to the next lowest path
to go down to get an Insecticide Spray from the Giftbox. Return to the
entrance again and take the next lowest path to find a fork, going right for
a Broken Iron before moving left. Head up and then left before going down
to find a path leading left. Head down for a Croissant via a Giftbox, then
head up and left to find a Stun Gun from a Giftbox before exiting the cave.

After talking to Brick Road to heal yourself, head southwest to find a cave,
followed by heading right through the next two rooms (grab the Hamburger
along the way) to find a large room. Climb the two ropes to find a Cheap
Bracelet in a Giftbox, then return to the lowest area to go left to get a
Bottle Rocket from a Giftbox. Now move below the rope coiled on the ledge
above, give the Bubble Monkey get it down for Jeff, then climb upwards and
move left to leave the cave.

After a rather awkward and forced leaving of the Bubble Monkey, head south
past Stonehenge (watch out for Cave Boys) to find Dr. Andonut's (your Dad)
Lab. Check out the upstairs to find a Broken pipe, then speak to him to get
permission to use the Sky Runner, then head left to enter into it to fly to
Threed to crash into the cell of Ness and Paula! Use the Bad Key Machine to
escape into the night once more!

o----------------------o
| The Zombies Must Go! |
o----------------------o

After selling any unwanted stuff and equipping your people with the best
stuff, it is time to do something about the Zombies. The people speak of a
Tent in the south of town that has appeared, so go check it out to be
attacked!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Boogie Tent ~~~

H.P.: 579

P.P.: 56

Exp.: 5500

This tent has a couple of good moves in a regular attack as well as spewing
Fly Honey on an ally (this will immobilize them for a turn). To win this
battle, have Ness Bash/use PSI Special, Paula should use PSI Fire, and Jeff
can Shoot/Bottle Rocket the way to victory.

After winning, check the Trashcan to get a jar of Fly Honey. Now tour
around the town till Apple Kid sends the Mach Pizza delivery guy with his
newest invention, the Zombie Paper. Use this in the tent to draw in all of
the Zombies and trap them Sleep at the hotel to trigger the event), thus
opening the path to the tunnel that was blocked previously. Head northwest
of town to find the entrance.

The first room is empty, so move into the second room to find a Skip
Sandwhich DX before moving to the next room to pass through the small hall.
Grab the Silver Bracelet from the next room, then continue through the next
room to find a slimy little surprise!

This annoyance will expel stinky breath frequently, causing your people to
cry (dropping their accuracy) as well as attacking. Use PSI Special with
Ness, PSI Fire/PSI Thunder, and Bottle Rockets with Jeff to get the quick
victory.

After leaving the tunnel, head north along the water, taking the first cave
you see on the right to arrive at Saturn Valley!

o----------------o

Be sure to check out the free inn, the Dr. Saturn (remove that pesky Ghost),
and the store in the higher area of town for the following deals:

|____________|_______|_____________|

Also be sure to check out the other vendor who carries great items like the
Secret Herb and the Horn of Life. Once you are all prepped (talk to the Mr.
Saturns until you find one who tells you the password), head back through
the cave to continue treking north along the water to find Grapefruit Falls.
When you talk to the doorman, do not touch anything for three whole minutes
and he will let you into the Belch Base.

Head right, say YES to avoid a fight (say NO to fight a Slimy Little Pile),
and then enter the door on the right to get a Bomb from the Trashcan before
taking the ladder downward. Head left to find a ladder leading down to a
room containing an IQ Capsule and a Broken Laser from the trashcans before
returning to the ledge you descended from. Head left past the Slimy Little
Piles to climb the ladder to find a room with a Vital Capsule, HP Sucker,
and a Calorie Stick sitting in Trashcans.

Head back down the ladder, heading down to find a door. inside this room,
Magic Butterflies are prone to appear, so enter and leave it repeatedly
until Ness and company are completely filled on PSI Points (use Lifeup PSI
Spells to get full Hit Points). After filling up, head left to fight past
the enemies to find a door leading to the big boss guy in the base; Master
Belch!

This fight is so simple, PROVIDED you do one thing. Use the Fly Honey
immediately to make Belch forget about battle, and follow that up with the
strongest PSI attacks from Ness and Paula while Jeff Shoots. If you choose
to not use Fly Honey, it appears Belch does not take any damage (it will show
him taking damage, but it will not subtract from his totals).

Now that you have won, head through the cave to use the Hot Springs to
remove all the crud you accumulated in the Belch Base. Following that, find
the Mr. Saturn who has a trove of Items for your troupe (Cup Of Lifenoodles,
Mr. Saturn Coin, and Stag Beetle). When you are ready, head past the Hot
Springs to enter the cave which leads to your next challenge.

o---------------------------------o
| Third "Your Sanctuary" Location |

Head right through the cave, then down and right through the open meadow to
enter a cave, followed by grabbing the Coin Of Slumber from the Giftbox by
the entrance. Now just continue down the path to find the Your Sanctuary
location!

This bad sprout is accompanied by two Tough Mobile Sprouts, so wiping them
out quickly is an excellent idea. As for Trillionage Sprout, it can attack,
put a character to sleep, and it can also cause your characters to be
Mushroomized. Have Ness use PSI Special (keep laying it on), PSI Fire for
Paula's first turn, then switch to PSI Freeze every turn following, and Jeff
should make use of his Bottle Rockets and other toys he has on hand.

Step on through the opening, walk towards the Milky Well, and receive your
third melody from the Earth while hearing the thoughts of your Mother.

o-----------------------------------o
| Fourside... Here We Co... AW MAN! |
o-----------------------------------o

Now return to Threed and tour around town, and when you are ready, board a
bus going to Fourside. Once the bus passes through the tunnel, a massive
traffic jam will block the way, causing Ness, Paula, and Jeff to have to get
off. Stop into the Drug Store and look over the wares:

Also be sure to get a few Wet Towels to relieve the Sunstroke you will
endure in your trek through the desert as well as some food items. The d
desert holds many good treasures in Giftboxes, as well as a few mysteries
like the Black Sesame Seed & White Sesame Seed, the Contact Lens, The Slot
Machine Guys, and Criminal Catepillars (worth 30000 Experience Points).
Also make sure to give some food to the miner looking for Gold before
leaving the desert!

Once you make it through the desert (heading east while looking for a break
in the rocks to get back to the road), continue east through the bridge area
to enter Fourside!

o------------------------------o
| Runaway Five MUST Be Stupid! |
o------------------------------o

Now that you have arrived in Fourside, your first stop should be the
Topolla Theatre. Buy a Ticket and talk to the Runaway Five before catching
the show. Talk to the Theatre manager to find out they owe about a million
dollars (how they managed to run up that much of a debt in just a few days
truly is staggering!). Anyway, lots of references being made to buried gold
hints that the miner that promised any gold he found to Ness. It is time to
head back into the desert!

o-----------------------o
| Gold Mine Exploration |
o-----------------------o

When you enter, you will find out enemies inhabit the way ahead. Head
upwards, continuing upwards at the fork to find a ladder leading down. Head
left until a path upwards appears, at which point a massive Mole will
lecture about his home and friends as well as his rank (Number 3) in power
compared to the others!

~~~ Guardian Digger ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

H.P.: 386

P.P.: 110

Exp.: 17301

Simply put, these guys can be a pain. They can use their claws to cause
massive damage as well as performing conventional attacks. They also begin
the battle with a small power shield (reflects physical attacks). Use Bash
with Ness (he will also play healer if necessary), Paula should use PSI
Freeze, and Jeff should use a Bottle Rocket or Shoot. Not particularly
tough, just be ready coming into the fight with full Hit Points. Note that
they are vulnerable to Paralysis Alpha/Paralysis Omega, so Ness can render
them useless with this spell sometimes, mkaing the fight particularly easy
to win (thanks to Camo_Yoshi for this information).

Grab the IQ Capsule from the Giftbox before going down and left to climb a
ladder to the next level. Now walk down and then right to arrive at a fork,
taking the downwards path to then go up and find a Giftbox with a Big Bottle
Rocket inside. Now continue onwards to arrive at a fork, taking the path
upwards and then right to go down a ladder. Head up and then duck into the
cavern on the right to fight another Guardian Digger (see previous
strategy).

Grab the Coin Of Defense from the Giftbox he protected, return to the
previous path, head right to grab a Calorie Stick from a Giftbox before
moving up the ladder to the next level. Head down to a fork, move right to
find a Giftbox containing a Teddy Bear, and then return to the fork to go
down to another fork (take the left path). You will find a ladder leading
down to a room containing a Super Bomb, then return to the level above to
move left to find a Guardian Digger (see previous strategy).

Grab the PSI Caramel from the Giftbox before backtracking to the previous
fork, this time going right (grab an Exit Mouse if you desire/need one) to
find two Giftboxes containing Picnic Lunch and a Croissant. Head upwards,
taking the path to the right to find a Secret Herb, then head back to the
previous path to go upwards to find another Guardian Digger (see previous
strategy).
Grab the Guts Capsule from the Giftbox, return to the Exit Mouse area, and
walk down the path below to find a Bomb in a Giftbox. Head further down the
path and then start off to the left to find the final Guardian Digger (see
previous strategy).

Be sure to grab the Luck Capsule and the Platinum Band before leaving the
mine. Head back for Fourside and on the way, the miners will give you a
Diamond since they want Gold!

o--------------------------------o
| Fourside Is A Happening Place! |
o--------------------------------o

Head for the Topolla Theatre, buy another Show Ticket, and then show the
Diamond to the manager of the Theatre (be sure to step behind the counter to
show it), releasing the Runaway Five from there troubles (AGAIN!). Now
watch the last Runaway Five show at the Topolla before exiting the building.

Now you can go visit a few shops, so check out the department store.

With no actual physical attacks to use, this SPook comes at Ness and Jeff
with a wide array of PSI spells, including: Freeze alpha, Brainshock alpha,
Magnet omega, and Lifeup alpha. Ness will be playing the role of healer for
the team as his primary job, Lifeup beta being called into use to repair the
damage this entity deals out, attacking as his secondary duty (save his PP
for the Lifeup spells). Jeff should make use of Bottle Rockets, Bombs,
etc., and then switch to shooting after those run dry. The SPook can be a
super tough enemy, but only if you fight recklessly while letting your Hit
Points go too low.

Paula has been sent to Monotoli, but your team will be unable to get into
his inner offices to speak to him! After getting nowhere with Monotoli,
head southwest for one block (along the east side of the Dinosaur Museum
block), then turn north and walk along until you find a Cafe. Head inside
and speak to all of the patrons until Ness hears about a noise outside.
Walk out there to see Everdred lying on the ground! Give some food to the
guy in grey on the right, allowing Ness to speak to Everdred to learn of a
hidden area behind a panel in the cafe. Heaf back in and tap on the panel
to be whisked away to...

| Moonside ... Edisnoom |

Welcome to a strange place that has strange ways of speaking and even
stranger enemies. YES means NO and NO means YES, so keep that in mind.
Prepare for what is considered perhaps the most odd area this game has to
offer (and that is really saying something)!

Head out from the Cafe, go southwest to find a fellow with a Hawaiian shirt
and sunglasses who transports the two to an area with a Giftbox holding a
Protein Drink. Now return to the previous area, move southeast to follow
the road (it will turn northeast) to find the Hotel. Now head down the
street, turning northeast to fins a Giftbox by a tree holding a Double
Burger. Now talk to the fellow in front of the Hospital to appear near the
Monotoli Building, so speak to the fellow to hear what he wants if you wish
to pass.
Now set out for the Hospital, speaking to the fellow in front to be
transported to a Giftbox with a Night Pendant inside. Next up is talking to
the transporter guy nearby to arrive in an area where a Giftbox has a
Handbag Strap, followed by speaking to the transporter guy to arrive in an
area to the west of the Monotoli building. Go up to find a Secret Herb in a
Giftbox, then speak to the nearby fellow (say NO to him) to arrive in a room
with a shadowy figure and a Mr. T, so speak to the shadowy figure and say NO
to his question, then speak to Mr. T to leave the room. Upon leaving the
Hotel, the shadowy figure will be following you, so now head south to the
Monotoli Building and speak to the guy blocking the way, and he will leave
with the invisible shadow fellow. Go down to the area below, fill up your
Hit Points, and then confront the Mani Mani Statue!

This evil incarnate can call upon a few deadly attacks. He can attack
normally (getting quite a few SMAAAAAAAAAAAAAASH! attacks) as well as a
glorious light attack ( it is the same as Flash Beta, so it can one hit kill
the boys!). It also Magnet alpha and pale green light (removes all effects
of PSI spells, including Shields). To win, go all out with Special beta for
Ness (who heals the duo as necessary) and Jeff makes use of any Bottle
Rockets or Bombs he has before resorting to shooting. Not a tough fight,
but Evil Mani Mani can get lucky with glorious light at times, making it an
unfair kill.

| Got To Do A Runaround To See Monotoli! |
o----------------------------------------o

The Apple Kid will tell you he invented a "Gourmet Yogurt Machine", but his
Poor choice in a transportion company will have it lost. No worries though
as the man in the desert happens to want to see your boys! Also, Mr.
Monotoli's maid Electra will request some of the yogurt, so off to see the
Talah Rama!

As you enter into the Dusty Dunes Desert, make for the Desert Store first to
get a Skip Sandwhich and a Picnic Lunch, both of which are required for
clearing the entire home of the desert monkeys out of Items. Also be sure to
bring the Pencil Eraser along. Head north from the Desert Store to find a hole
by a Monkey, so enter. The following diagram will show the number of Monkeys
within the cave, numbered. Below the diagram will be the monkey numbers, with
the listings of what can be traded, found, etc. Note that the additional
rooms in between are being ignored as they have no Monkeys to trade with.

If you wish to see a better representation of this than I can show you with
ASCII, look at this beauty of a chart! Many thanks to Devin Morgan for
allowing me to link to his wonderful diagram.

So, to get to the Talah Rama with minimal fuss, perform the following

valuable Items like a Bag Of Dragonite, a Flame Pendant, and a couple things
for Jeff (Broken Tube and a Neutralizer).

When you reach the Talah Rama, grab the Cup Of Lifenoodles and the Brain
Food Lunch from the containers and speak to the Talah Rama. Following
that, talk to the Talah Rama to gain the Yogurt Dispenser, which is needed
to gain access to Monotoli's Building (through Electra) as well as making
for a funky (albeit utterly weak) weapon in battle. Say yes to learning the
new skill, go learn how to do it, and then return to Fourside.

Head for the department store to find Electra the maid standing out on the

offices of Monotoli! Head inside the building to the elevator to ride it to
the 47th floor, head right to the next elevator, and it will deposit Ness
and Jeff on the 48th floor.

Head left through the door to the next room where you should move left past
the bathrooms to enter the first door you find. Now take the door at the
back part of the room, then do the same in the next room to find a Giftbox
holding a Sudden Guts Pill. Now return to the previous room, this time
taking the door on the left to the next room, where the door on the left
leads to a Vital Capsule in a Giftbox. Now back to the last room, this time
entering the door on the right, this time entering into the door above to
find Electra, who will give the team some Trout Flavored Yogurt. Once
again, go back one room, this time heading through the door on the left to
find an odd robot who attacks!

To win this battle, your strategies will need to be slightly different than
the normal ones employed. Your sole goal here is to Bash/Shoot (NO Bottle
Rockets or PSI attacks) away at the odd, little robot, using Lifeup
alpha/beta as needed to keep your Hit Points up. The Clumsy Robot will
waste quite a few turns, land a harsh hit here and there, and he will refill
his Hit Points completely with a Balogne Sandwhich every now and then. Keep
battling it for a bit till the Runaway Five comes through and shuts the
robot off for you!

After receiving the "great" advice of the Runaway Five, head next door to
get Paula back from a scared Monotoli. He will offer his helicopter to get
you to Summers (to spite the evil spirits that controlled him), but that will
become a non-option as you will see. How to get across the Ocean now?

o----------------------o
| Andonuts Would Know! |

Time to head off to Threed, and the Runaway Five happen to heading your way!
Once you arrive, head north to the cemetery where Jeff crashed the Sky

to see his Father. Dr. Andonuts will fix it, but it will take some time.
How to kill time...?

Regular attacks, Lifeup alpha, scattering some spores (Mushroomizes or

Poisons your people), and disrupts your senses (makes PSI uncastable) are
the multitude of attacks that this big time hitter brings. If your people
get Mushroomizes early, attack with them till they are feeling funky, at
which point they should be relegated to Item passing duties only (they will
kill their own teammates way too often). To bring down the big bad
mushroom, Ness should throw out PSI Special beta and Bash attacks as well as
healing the team members as needed, Paula should use PSI Fire and PSI Freeze
continually, and Jeff should bring Bottle Rockets and Bombs before switching
to Shooting away.

Step on through the opening, walk around the Rainy Circle, and receive your
fourth melody from the Earth while smelling the scent of Steak for just a
moment.

Return to the Andonuts Lab, where the Sky Runner is ready. Take it into the

Now you need to head into the port town attached to Summers, called Toto.
Explore the town, checking at every door to find some interesting people, a
rather crappy shop (it does carry a few unique Items, but nothing
spectacular like the Restaurant does), a dreadlocked fellow who give you the
Stoic Club phone number, and you will also find a disgruntled husband.
Note that Jeff's buddy will call, asking for the name of the player, so
enter in your name (or alias), but this insignificant event will become
clear later.

He will mention her great Magic Cakes and how her business will fail if she
does not stop hanging out at the Stoic Club, so call the Stoic Club to make
a reservation, go there, speak with the portly fellow with the moustache to
find out the woman by the door makes Magic Cakes, and then speak to her to
say YES you would like a Magic Cake. Now head out onto the boulevard,
moving west along the road till you reach the Shop. Look on the far side of
the street to find her, which is where she will present one to the group.

She will say "This is a very special Magic Cake", which is such an obvious
drug reference. To follow that up, the screen goes all purple and wavers
out of focus before going to black, so I guess your characters are tripping
or something. Anyway...

o------------------------o
| Dalaam Of The Far East |
o------------------------o

Poo, Prince of Dalaam is now your character to use, so head out through the
entire area, taking all of the Items you find in the Goldboxes. Eventually,
Poo will reach the bottom area of the town, where he will need to go to the
right to find the Star Man who will tell Poo he will teach Poo about Mu.

Climb the rope to start training, ignore the messenger and stay put
(pressing no buttons or direction), and then agree to everything the spirit
says (even though it sounds nasty) to pass your Mu training! Return to the
palace from which your journey originated to speak to the Master to learn of
your mission, gain a few levels and PSI Spells, and then Poo will teleport
to Summers!

Now that you have all four kids together, it is time to start solving a few

After getting rid of these two monsters, have Poo read the tablet to learn
of the following pattern:

This will become useful to you later when you find the Sphinx, but for now
head downstairs to talk to the Museum Curator to hear about the Fourisde

via your PSI Teleport and head into the Museum to far left to find Dr. SPoon
who will show you something "extraordinary", but only if you get the
autograph of Venus from the Topolla Theatre!

Go to the Topolla Theatre, pay your way in, watch her show, and then go see
her backstage to get her autograph on a Banana Peel. Now return to the
Museum to give it to Dr. SPoon to see his "extraordinary" discovery, which is

| Fifth "Your Sanctuary" Location |

After going down the ladder, head to the left past a ladder leading into the
water to pass to a new screen where a Croissant awaits in a Trashcan. Now
return to the previous screen to go down the ladder you passed to get into
the water to start slogging to the right to find a ladder leading out. Now
follow the path to the left to find a door where a Trashcan sits inside
holding a Broken Spray Can (ignore this if you do not need to have Defense
Spray).

Now move to the next screen on the right while on the path, finding a ladder
into the water to take, and then continue right by slogging to another
ladder to follow out of the muck. Now you should make the trip on the path
to the left, fighting enemies to reach a Trashcan holding a Rust Promoter
DX. Head back to the right to take the path to the new screen to pass a
ladder to enter a room where a Trashcan sits, holding a Broken Bazooka (give
to Jeff so he can try to fix it). Now return to that ladder you passed to
enter the water to move to the right to the next ladder to get out of the
water and to find the new owner of the "Your Sanctuary" location!

attacks per fight, which for the three characters not named Ness means they
are likely to be mortally wounded by the Plague Rat Of Doom. Ness should
Bash away (especially if you have any Sudden Guts Pills to feed him), Paula
and Poo should unleash PSI Freeze attacks, and Jeff should use Bottle
Rockets before reverting to Shooting. As always, Ness and Poo should be
ready with Lifeup and Healing spells to handle any problems that the Plague
Rat Of Doom serves up.

Step on up the ladder, walk towards the Magnet Hill, and receive your fifth
melody from the Earth while seeing a vision of a baby's bottle for an
instant.

Now grab the Carrot Key from the Goldbox, head back through the sewer to get
back into the main part of Fourside, and use Teleport beta to fly to Dalaam
(check the second page of your town lists to go there). Once you arrive,
fill up your characters at the throne room via the Master, and then head to
the south end of town, this time moving to the right to use the Carrot Key
to rid your path of the Rabbit Statues before entering into the cave.

Go to the left to pass through the opening to the next room, move down the
rope, and then move to the left to find a Goldbox with a Bracer Of Kings
waiting inside for Poo (one of three Armors he can equip in the entire
game!) Return back to the starting spot of the cave, head up the ropes you
find along the cliffs, turning left to find a hole to fall down to find a
Goldbox with a Sudden Guts Pill inside. Now move to the left, falling into
the hole near the left wall.
Hear you will find a Goldbox with a Rock Candy inside, followed by another
trip through a hole to move left to find the new owners of the Your

Boom Bang attack (equivalent of a PSI Thunder Beta attack, but requires a
rest by them on the next turn), Intertwine with a character (heavy hitting
attack), and summoning a storm (equivalent of PSI Flash Beta). They are
extremely dangerous, so you should make good use of your time to get rid of
them. Ness should use PSI Special, Paula and Poo should use PSI Freeze, and
Jeff should have a couple Bottle Rockets handy to hurt the team of two
badly. This fight is a truly tough one where your team CAN lose if they are
unprepared.

Kraken can do a few things to try and hurt your party, including: a Crashing
Boom Bang attack (equivalent of PSI Thunder Beta, he does not have to rest
though, unlike Thunder And Storm), he can breather fire (hit-all attack that
is very powerful), generated a tornado (hit-all attack that is very
powerful), PSI Flash Beta, and a pale green light (neutralizes PSI shields
and status effects). To win this battle, all out attacks could work, but
not without a couple characters falling down to the attacks of this beast.
Have Ness use PSI Flash Beta (causing him to cry, be numb, or die will
severely lower his ability to land continual damage to your party), followed
by Bashing or PSI Special. Paula should use PSI Freeze continually to deal
heavy damage and possibly freeze the beast for one round. Jeff should use
Bottle Rockets or just defend. Poo should use Brainshock Alpha to get him
confused so Kraken will attack himself, followed by joining Paula in the use
of PSI Freeze. With most of the big guys attacks nullified, he will be
easier to beat, but be ready with Lifeup from Ness and Poo as needed so your
party stays strong.

When you arrive in Scaraba, you will likely want to stay at the Hotel to
heal your wounds while refilling your PSI Points. Next up, tour town to

door that leads to a room with a Casket holding a Viper. Now move right
through the door and up the large staircase to find a room where two other
doors beckon while an altar lies in the middle of the room.

Start out by choosing the door above the one you came into the room through,
heading left up the long stairway to find a room with a Casket holding a Bag

the right to find a stairway leading downwards to find a door leading to a

After beating the menace, pass through the door to find a Casket with a Rain

backtrack to the altar room, noticing that the altar has slid to the side,

Now you should follow the first man's advice and head northwest, battling
the creatures of the desert (and the creatures that are rather odd to find
in the desert as well). When you find the Dungeon Man, use your Key to the
tower to enter.

Upon entering, you will walk along to a choice in paths, so head left to
find a bench that will let your people sleep for free to recover their
health. You will also see a Hospital, so keep it in mind for those big
emergencies you may face in here. Now head right past the path you came up
to find a path going up to a three way branch. Go on the right branch to
find a Giftbox with a Molokheiya Soup inside, then return to the path choice
area to go up the middle path. Rest on the bench if you wish, go left to
find a Giftbox containing a Cup Of Lifenoodles, and then go return to the
three path area to choose the left path.

Follow it till it splits, choosing the lower path, which will take Ness and
friends to a Giftbox with $5. Now head up the path above the sign to go on
the first right to find a Giftbox with a Snake inside, then return back to
the main path leading up to follow it to another Giftbox with a Super Plush
Bear inside. Return to the main level where you moved up from the sign,
choosing the path to the left of the raised path you were just on to go up,
finding a set of four ropes waiting to be climbed. Choose the third rope
from the left to get to the next floor of this dungeon.

Follow the path to pass one sign, moving left past the next one to take the
higher route to a Giftbox to find $10, and then head around the long circle,
bearing right as much as possible to find a Good Night Bench to fill up at.
Now return to the two sign area, this time choosing the route downwards that
will turn left to find a path leading upwards (follow it). Go up the nearby
rope, head downwards to get a Pizza from a Giftbox, followed by returning
to the last area of path, this time going up into the narrow path to find
Sudden Guts Pills in a Giftbox. Now go up the elevated path to either side
of the Giftbox, ignoring the rope to keep going up to get a PSI Caramel
before returning to climb the rope to the third floor.

The third floor is a relaxing jaunt through a zoo of sorts that Dungeon Man
has set up, but be sure to check out the lower left corner of the area to
find a Wet Towel in a Giftbox and a Good Night Bench. Once you are done
here, head up the rope to the fourth floor. Now talk to the Brick Road face
to learn he has fulfilled his dream of becoming a great Dungeon Designer (I
would argue he still needs to work on his skills, but anyway...), and he
will join your crew! Head out through the "Return Hole" (raid the Giftbox
as you go for an IQ Capsule) to have him join you!

Walk south through the desert, eventually walking through an area where the
Dungeon Man gets stuck! Continue exploring to find a fellow who will tell
you a submarine is now needed to get to Deep Darkness, which is where the
Hawk Eye is supposed to be used (hence the reason you grabbed it). It is
time to return to the Dungeon Man! Once you enter, retrace your steps
through the four floors to find Brick Road once more, speak to him, and he
will open the "Goodbye Exit" for your crew, so move by the first hole on the
path below to find a second hole to jump down.
Drop down through two more holes to land on a high ledge on the first floor,
so head down and then right to find a Talisman Ribbon for Paula in a
Giftbox. Now follow the ledge to find Brick Road's collection of odd and
weird things, making sure to check the Yellow Submarine to see if Jeff can
fix the thing, which he can! They will then ride the Submarine into the
Deep Darkness!

When you arrive, you will be treated to a few neat things. If you teach a
Monkey how to teleport, he will give you "Monkey's Love", which can be used
to freeze an enemy in battle (multiple uses). Also, an Arms Dealer is here
as well as a fellow who is a hospital and a shop owner with some good
merchandise:

You will also see a phone (looks like a Toucan) as well as a monkey inn you
can stay at for free. If you need cash, you can head south to find a
snorkeling fellow who will give you money, but at the price of an equal
amount of cash for him! Also note that the walkthrough will be giving rough
locations of the Magic Truffles, so be sure to have your Piggy Nose from
Scaraba handy to grab these luscious treats!

Once you are ready, get ready to slog downwards, remembering the darker
areas of water will sap your character's Hit Points continually. To start,
go into the deep stuff to the right of the monkey inn, then move down and to
the right to a small corner near a log where the Piggy Nose can help find a
Magic Truffle. Now head right again to find the Arms Dealer again, check
around the tree near the Arms Dealer with your Piggy Nose for another Magic
Truffle, and then turn south. When you near the Giftbox (which holds a
Banana), use the Hawk Eye to reveal the path forward! Continue south along
the shallow water until you arrive at an area where the path splits (go
left).

Move northwest to reach the deep stuff again, slogging to the west to find a
Giftbox along the top of the area in shallow water (it holds Beef Jerky).
Before leaving this area, you can get a Magic Truffle from the deeper water
by the tree line above. Now head to the left through a brief portion of deep
water to find a Giftbox with an IQ Capsule inside, then return to the right
to take a path leading southwest. Move to the left, and then up past a
crashed Helicopter (which you should recognize as the one that Pokey stole
from Monotoli!) to find a Giftbox with a Cup Of Lifenoodles inside. Now
head down and left to find an opening leading to the left, which plunks our
crew back into the wet stuff, but keep moving to the left and using the
Piggy Nose to unearth yet another Magic Truffle!

Once you finally reach the dryer soil, head left on the path to find a
Souvenir Coin in a Giftbox, then turn upwards to find a small opening the
trees on the right for the party to pass through, When you emerge into the
larger, open area of deep swamp, head for the northern side of it to find
some Rock Candy in a Giftbox, and then head back into the deep swamp you
just exited. This time, head right through the east branch of the swamp,
turning north to find a massive red pile of GROSSNESS! Master Belch returns,
but he is far more powerful with no weakness to Fly Honey like last time!

Exp.: 125056

Well, he has double the Hit points this time and no convenient out by using
Fly Honey. Barf can use a continual attack (attacks twice in one turn), he
can blow his nauseating breath at you (poisoning an ally), and he can exhale
stinky breath (causing your team to cry, thus lowering their accuracy).
Although he is not too dangerous to deal lots of damage, his status altering
attacks are not only annoying, but make hurting him tough to do with
physical attacks. Ness should Bash and play healer to the team as needed,
Paula should use PSI Freeze, and Jeff should use the Heavy Bazooka (provided
he fixed it by now). If you REALLY want to hurt him, have Jeff unleash a
Multi Bottle Rocket on him for a one hit kill most of the time! Poo will
swoop in to help once his Hit Points are run down rather low (ending the
battle).
Now with Poo back on your team, take care of any aches and pains your crew
may have endured, equip the Casey Bat if you feel REALLY lucky (note that
the terrible inaccuracy of this Bat for Ness makes it too unpredictable and
too undependable to use regularity), and then continue moving upwards to find
some shallower water. You will then move into the deeper stuff again as you
move left, making sure to check out the northern tree line with the Piggy
Nose to find one last Magic Truffle if you wish, and then continue to follow
the path as it leads to a dry area. Keep going to enter a large cave.

o---------------------------------------------o
| The Tendas Shyness, And The Disappearances! |
o---------------------------------------------o

Check out the entire cave, including the garbage cans in the bottom right
corner to find a Death Ray. Talk to the head Tenda to learn of the shyness
of the Tendas as well as the area below their cave. Leave the cave to get a
call from Apple Kid who appears to be taken away while he waits to see the
missing Dr. Andonuts in Winters! Then Orange Kid calls to say Apple Kid had
the book "Overcoming Shyness", which would help get some more info out of
the Tendas. Time to Teleport off to Winters.

When you arrive, you will be just outside the boarding school, so head south
to the Tessie Watching Club to find the Bubble Monkey who will summon Tessie
to help your crew out. Once you are on the far bank, go through the Brick
Road Dungeon again or use the Pencil Eraser if you wish to bypass it. Then
you will arrive at the large cave where the Fourth "Your Sanctuary" was.
Head left through the first two caverns, head left past the first rope to
take the second rope upwards, and then move left to exit the cave. Now head
south past Stonehenge to enter Dr. Andonuts Lab. You will find only the
friendly Cave Boy (peddling his wares) and Apple Kid's Mouse, who holds the
Eraser Eraser that you should grab. once you are prepped, head north to
Stonehenge, and enter into the hole in the centre of the blocks to start
your investigation into the base here!

o------------------------------------------------------------o
| Starmen, Starmen Everywhere! So let's all have a drink... |
o------------------------------------------------------------o

Head down the ladder and into the next room to find a giant, Iron Eraser
blocking your way. Use the Eraser Eraser to remove it, then advance
downwards to find a door. Continue along the path you are on to arrive at a
crossroads, choosing either path to reach a door, both leading to the next
room. Both paths will lead to an area with a Giftbox with Spicy Jerky
inside, then move to the path on the right to find another door to go
through.

Head right to a more open area, choose the path on the right, and then
follow the twisting path to find a Guts Capsule in a Giftbox, then return to
the more open area to take the path leading downwards. Fight all of the
enemies as you reach a door, finding another long, winding path to follow to
reach an open area. Take the path above to find a Giftbox with a Cup Of
Lifenoodles inside, then return to the open area again, and then move to the
path on the right to follow it until a door presents itself for your party
to pass through.

Now the surrounding change, reaching a more modern looking portion of the
base. This is the place that Starman Super starts to show up, holding that
valuable weapon for Poo, the Sword Of Kings! Good luck on winning one, but
most don't bother though due to the less than 1% (1/128) chance of winning
it in a battle.

Anyway, head right to start, finding a Giftbox that holds a Broken

Harmonica, return to the left, and then descend on the ladder to the area
below. Now move to the right to grab a PSI Caramel from a Giftbox, continue
right to find a ladder, and then head down it to the area below to pass
through a door to the next area.

Grab an Exit Mouse if you would like, then pass through the next door to an
area where the lighting is not functioning at full abilities. Head right to
pass a path leading up to go around a winding path to a Giftbox with a
Broken Trumpet inside, and then return back to the left to take that path
leading upwards. Choose the left path to take upwards to wind around to a
choice in directions, so go right to get a Speed Capsule from a Giftbox,
then go down and left to find a Pixie's Bracelet in a Giftbox, and then take
the lower path to the right to find a door to go through. This room has all
of the kidnapped people sealed away in TUBES! Head quickly for the next
room, fill up your characters, and then step forward to fight the prototype
for the new line of Starmen!

Well, you are facing a being that looks more impressive than the lesser
models he was commanding in the Stonehenge base, but is he tougher? Well,
he can call Starmen Super (who in turn can call Starmen), he can fire a
beam, and he can make use the mighty Starstorm alpha (badly hurts your
entire party!). The trick is though, he BEGINS the battle with a PSI Shield
already in place! This leaves you with two battle options:

i) Use Jeff's Neutralizer to remove his shield, and then have Ness use PSI
Special as well as heal the party, Paula should use PSI Freeze, Jeff
should use the Heavy Bazooka/Bottle Rocket/Shoot, and Poo should use
PSI Freeze and heal the party.

ii) Use physical attacks with Ness, Paula, and Poo while Jeff launches a
Multi Bottle Rocket. IF he survives the first round, make use of the
Heavy Bazooka or Big Bottle Rocket with Jeff while everyone continues
the physical assault.

Now head back to the previous room to speak to three people specifically:
Mr. Saturn (gives the Saturn Ribbon for Paula to wear), Apple Kid (tells you
he returned the book, "Overcoming Shyness" to the Onett Library), and Dr.
Andonuts to learn he is working on the Phase Distorter so the group can go
into the past to defeat the evil. Use the Exit Mouse or walk out of the
base to get outside.

o---------------------------o
| Shyness; The Death Of It! |
o---------------------------o

Teleport to Onett, head north to find the library just north of town, and
enter. Go into the first door you see, and check the book shelf on the far
left to find the book. Now head outside and Teleport to the Tenda Village,
use the book beside the leader (the fellow with horns) who also gives you
Tendakraut as well as teaching everyone else in the cave, and then go take
in the whole cave, including a shop! However, you will need to make some
trades to get the Items, each time asking for a Horn Of Life. Here is the
order of the Items being traded to you:

1. Plain Roll
2. Plain Yogurt
3. Plain Roll
4. Spicy Jerky
5. Bag Of Dragonite
6. Talisman Coin
7. Hall Of Fame Bat

After you have done all of your work, head over to the right side of the
cave, talk to the Tenda near the big rock, and he will lift it, revealing
the rope leading down the hole!

o-----------------------------------o
| Seventh "Your Sanctuary" Location |
o-----------------------------------o

Move through the opening on the right to go up and right on a path to reach
a fork, where you should go down to find a rope ladder going down to a room
where a Giftbox sits with a Super Bomb inside. Now return back to the level
above, head up the other path you saw to go down a path to the left to pass a
hole to go find a ladder leading downwards. Head down to the bottom of the
room to find an IQ Capsule, then climb the ladder above that, and then go
right to find a Giftbox with a Diadem Of Kings (great armor for Poo). Now
return to the level below, go up the other ladder, and then go right to pass
the hole and end up on the main path, heading upwards to eventually get a
Luck Capsule from a Giftbox before heading down a level through the nearby
hole.

Now head down the path, following it till you can see a Giftbox to grab,
finding a Rock Candy inside. Now continue along the path, ignoring the
ladder to move right to get a Bottle of DX Water from a Giftbox, and then
return to the left to climb the ladder to find a Giftbox with a Cup Of
Lifenoodles inside, followed by hopping down the hole. Go right to open a
Giftbox for Spicy Jerky, then continue to the right to climb the rope ladder
to the floor above, where the party should turn left. Continue left, going
down and left into a small cubby below the shining spot to find a Rabbit's
Foot in a Giftbox, and then go examine the shinging spot to meet the new
owner of Your Sanctuary!

The Electro Specter has high Hit Points, but he has very few attacks. He
has an electrical shock attack (equivalent of PSI Thunder), he can use a
Neutralizer (takes PSI effects off of all participants in battle), and a
Shield Killer (destroys your Shields). He also has a PSI Shield to start,
so you have one of two options:

i) Use Jeff's Neutralizer to remove his shield, and then have Ness use PSI
Special as well as heal the party, Paula should use PSI Freeze, Jeff
should use the Heavy Bazooka/Bottle Rocket/Shoot, and Poo should use
PSI Freeze and heal the party.

ii) Use physical attacks with Ness, Paula, and Poo while Jeff launches a
Multi Bottle Rocket. IF he survives the first round, make use of the
Heavy Bazooka or Big Bottle Rocket with Jeff while everyone continues
the physical assault.

Now walk to the left to drop through the hole, then walk to the left to walk
through the Lumine Hall, and receive your seventh melody from the Earth
while seeing a vision of his Father holding him.

o---------------------------------------o
| To The Lost... Err... The Underworld! |
o---------------------------------------o

Welcome to the Underworld, where Ness and company are microscopic in size,
facin down massive foliage and dinosaurs long thought extinct! Remember
that Blue Geysers will refill your people's Hit Points/PSI Points and the
Red Geysers will remove any status effects you may be suffering from.

Start off by heading west (passing a Blue Geyser) to get to the left of the
mountain range in the north, then turn northwest to find a cul de sac
mountain range to the west of a caged in area (two Tendas and a phone) to
find a Giftbox containing a Brain Food Lunch. Now head northeast past the
caged area to turn east to follow the mountain range to the right to find a
Giftbox with a Horn Of Life inside. Now have the crew head north along the
mountain range to the right to find another Giftbox, this one holding a Sea
Pendant, and then turn southwest to get by the wall of mountains on the
team's left. Now head west until you see a pond to the north, which you
will head towards before continuing northwest to get on the western bank of
a small creek to head north to a Giftbox with a Guts Capsule inside. Head
southwest from here to find a large caged in area, which is the Tenda
Village that the elder of the Tendas above spoke of!

Go up to the gate to have the Tendakraut you carried stolen so the Tendas
will let you out of their "Dinosaur Cage". Inside is a place to sleep for
$400, a Tenda who will give you cash (provided you give him a handling fee
of how much is being withdrawn), a Talkative Rock (worth a listen), and a
store!

can see a cave to the north (there is nothing in that cave though, but take
a look if you are curious) to then turn east when the mountain range on the
right allows you to do so. If you head north first as the path opens up,
you can raid a Giftbox for a Cloak Of Kings (good armor for Poo), but head
south to continue forward to find a Blue Geyser to fill up at as well as a
phone to use to save. Now head northwest to find the entrance to the Fire

Start off by entering the nearby cave to get a Speed Capsule from a Giftbox,
then return to the previous area to go to the right to climb a rope and head
through the series of ropes and caves to reach a Giftbox holding a Bag of
Dragonite. Now return to the the first rope you climbed to head right to
find a second cave to pass through to the next section to find a Cherub's
Band in a Giftbox, and then go back to the left to find a rope. Climb this
rope, head left to find a cave (this one will have Magical Butterflies in it
frequently, so enter and leave repeatedly to fill up for free), climb the
rope above the area to find a small cave with a Giftbox (Horn Of Life), and
a cave leading to the right that will advance your group.

After passing through the cave, climb the two sets of ropes, enter the cave,
go left to go through another opening, and then use the ropes to get to the
Giftbox holding a Moon Beam Gun for Jeff. Return to the previous cave, go
left to find another opening to go through, and then climb the ropes to
reach the place of the new owner of "Your Sanctuary"!

~~~ Carbon Dog ~~~ ~~~ Diamond Dog ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

H.P.: 1672 H.P.: 3344

P.P.: 0 P.P.: 154

Exp.: 0 Exp.: 337738

This fight will be a two step battle, as you have to fight the first form of
the Boss (Carbon Dog) before fighting the second (and tougher) form of the
Boss (Diamond Dog).

Carbon Dog can use a few attacks, including: a flaming fireball (deals tons
of damage to a single target), a loud piercing howl (does nothing), a biting
attack (moderate damage attack to a single target), and a spray of Fire
(massive damage to all characters). As for weaknesses, he has one weakness,
and that is to Brainshock (he will come out feeling strange, often hurting
himself when he attacks). Have Ness Bash and heal, Paula should use PSI
Freeze or Bags Of Dragonite, Jeff should use his Heavy Bazooka, and Poo
should use PSI Freeze and heal. Also note that you can just use a Multi
Bottle Rocket from Jeff and just use regular attacks from the rest, which
will also quickly cause Carbon Dog to lose (note that if Jeff delivers the
final blow to Carbon Dog, half of the damage dealt will bounce back and
crank him thanks to the appearing Power Shield of the Diamond Dog). Another
option is to use PSI Flash Beta, which has the potential to kill him off
immediately, bringing on the Diamond Dog.

Now that Diamond Dog has appeared, the rules of the battle change. He
starts with a Power Shield, meaning physical attacks will have half of their
total damage dealt being thrown back at the deliverer of the blow. He also
has a myriad of attacks like: emitting glorious light (same effects as PSI
Flash Beta), a Biting Attack (moderate damage to a single target), a loud
piercing howl (does nothing), and he can hit you hard (heavy damage to a
single target). You are presented with two choices on how to fight this
menace:

i) Attack him with an all out display of PSI attacks (PSI Special for Ness,
PSI Freeze/Thunder for Paula, and PSI Starstorm for Poo) while Jeff just
defends and uses food Items to heal his friends as needed.

ii) Have Ness use PSI Special, have Paula use PSI Freeze/Thunder, and have
Poo use PSI Starstorm (or maybe PSI Brainshock Alpha to confuse the
Diamond Dog) on their first turn while Jeff uses his Neutralizer to
remove the Power Shield of the Diamond Dog. Now you can go after him
with any attacks you wish, but the Multi Bottle Rocket attack by Jeff is
highly recommended as it can remove up to 60% of the total Hit Points
Diamond Dog has to begin the fight!

Now step through the opening, then walk to the left to approach the Fire
Spring, and receive your eighth melody from the Earth while seeing a vision
of Ness looking at himself as a child.

However, this time you will see the vision and then the images will
overwhelm Ness as he appears to warp off to some mysterious place!

o--------------------------------------o
| Magicant, Truly A Place Of Weirdness |
o--------------------------------------o

Take some time to look around this strange creation of Ness's own mind!
Talk to people, check things out, and check out the shop!

____________ _______ _____________

| Name | Price | Stat/Effect |

|Pudding | $680 |Gain 40 PP |

|____________|_______|_____________|

Now head west to a new island to find a Giftbox with a PSI Caramel and more
weird things from Ness's past to interact with. After finishing up here,
head north to find the Flying Man House, which is where Ness can recruit one
of the Flying men to join one. If he ever croaks, you can return to recruit
a new one (provided any remain). Now that you are ready, head east to enter
into the battle within Ness's own mind!

Head up the path to the first fork, choosing to go right to find a younger
version of Ness, who offers his cap to him (don't bother as it is inferior
armor to have now) as well as finding a Giftbox with a Bag Of Dragonite
inside. Return to the fork to go up to a second fork that should be
followed upwards to get a Goddess Band from a Giftbox, then return to the
fork to head right along the path until a Giftbox appears that contains a
Magicant Bat (sweet weapon for Ness). Ness should then continue along the
path to a Giftbox with a Magic Tart inside, then continue around the
spiraling path to touch the twisted horn object to be warped away.

Ness will appear in the Sea Of Eden, so start slogging off towards the east.
Continue along the path, hugging the wall on the left, and facing the three
Krakens (I suggest just Bashing away, hoping for a SMAAAAAAAAAAAAAASH!
attack) to reach the final destination, the embodiment of the evil within
Ness!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Ness's Nightmare ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
H.P.: 1654
P.P.: 882
Exp.: 89004
This entity starts off the fight using a PSI Shield, which will stop any
direct PSI attacks at him! However, once he uses Power Shield Beta, he will
only block physical attacks. He has a few attacks to use as well,
including: glorious light (PSI Flash Beta equivalent), PSI Special (well he
is part of your own psyche), and PSI Lifeup Beta. To win, start out using
Bash attacks (or possibly Super Bombs if you are carrying any), remembering
to heal yourself with PSI Lifeup as needed. Once the Nightmare uses the
Power Shield on himself, it is time to switch up to using your hard hitting
PSI Special attacks to try and finish him. If you do not succeed by doing
this, you can also try PSI Hypnosis to put him to sleep temporarily (does
not always work).
An alternate strategy (thanks to Brian "Dalton Of Zeal" Bond) is to play a
more passive role in the fight. Ness should use Lifeup Beta to keep his
health up as his opponent hammers in with PSI Special, occasionally taking
a Bash at the Shield that is up at the moment. COntinue this until the
Nightmare has run dry on PSI Points, meaning it it now defenseless to face
your merciless hammerings!
Afterwards, Ness will realize that Saturn Valley is the next place to go and
he will gain power from the Earth as well as from releasing the hidden
powers within his own mind, all of this occurring JUST before Magicant
finally disappears (it was tied into the power of evil side that he
defeated).
(Meteorites tend to have it). However, check out the Saturn shop for the
north out f town to get to Ness's House, using it as a place to heal and
save (as well store useless items for free). Upon leaving the house, head
left to find a path leading down for the crew to follow west to reach a
turn to the east. Go until you see a rising path going upwards to a small
house, then turn east again to follow the route the rest of the way to reach
the meteorite, where Ness will grab the Meteorite Piece, which contains the
Zexonyte! Now return to Ness's House to refill your team, and then Teleport
back to Saturn Valley once more.
Now go give the Meteorite Piece to Dr. Andonuts, and he will fix the Phase
Distorter (once you spend the night at the Saturn hotel). Now make sure you
have all the equipment you wish to, and then step into the Phase Distorter
when you are ready to be taken to the Underworld!
When you arrive, Poo will be taught PSI Starstorm Omega! Continue along to
find the kidnapped Mr. Saturn, go take a look at the strange horn, and then
return to the Mr. Saturn to have Apple Kid and Dr. Andounts show up in a
newer Phase Distorter than transcend even time itself! However, your bodies
would not be able to make the trip, so they must first make some...
adjustments. I will leave it you to see, but it is somewhat disconcerting
to this author!
o---------------------------o
| Onto The Past And Giygas! |
o---------------------------o
"Clank" to the left to find a path leading upwards, so follow it along as it
moves, stopping at the Giftbox to grab the Legendary Bat from within for
Ness. Now it is just a quick trip up and then to the right to find an orb
that will warp your crew to the next area of the past. Head over to the
right and then up to find the path moving to the left to the next transport
orb. Now you will see a path going left and then up to find the entrance to
the lair of the evil of most evil, the proposed destroyer of Earth, GIYGAS!
Walk upwards along the fleshy paths to find yourself looking at the ageless
and timeless being. However, an old foe will first show up for you to get
re-acquainted with!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Heavily Armed Pokey ~~~ ~~~ Giygas ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

H.P.: 2000 H.P.: 9999

P.P.: 999 P.P.: 0

This fight has three distinct sections, so it will be separated thusly:

========
Part One
========

For this portion, Giygas will attack your crew much like Ness would attack.
Pokey on the other hand will attack in the following ways: discharging a
very stinky gas (drop offense on all characters), charging forward (heavy
damage to a single target), and tears into you (drastic damage to a single
target). For this form, focus your best attacks on Pokey (Ness should Bash,
Paula should PSI Freeze/use Bags Of Dragonite, Jeff should use Multi Bottle
Rockets/Heavy Bazooka, and Poo should use PSI Freeze). DO NOT attack Giygas
as the attacks will just reflect back into your party, causing unneeded
damage. Be sure to have Ness and Poo keep everybody's Hit Points up, and
you may wish to consider putting a PSI Shield up to keep Giygas PSI Special
attacks from connecting with the party.

========
Part Two
========

Giygas will now spend most of the time in the fight taunting Ness and then
attacking with PSI Spells that are not defined (he basically has free rein
to use any existing PSI Spell without restrictions to them that would apply
like single/multiple targeting and defenses/strengths). Continue the all
out assualt with Ness Bashing, Paula using PSI Freeze Omega, Jeff should use
his Heavy Bazooka (Multi Bottle Rockets appear to not work), and have Poo
use PSI Freeze Gamma. Keep your Hit Points high while doing this and you
will cause Pokey to return to the scene.

==========
Part Three
==========

To win on this part, dealing damage will not be the path to victory. No,
you must actually resort to a command that you have likely used on your
quest more in fun than in seriousness. I, of course speak of the... PRAYER
COMMAND! Have Paula Pray, each time calling in support from the present
(the future from where you are), each time causing Giygas some damage that
will actually connect. Once Giygas swallows your last prayer attempt, the
game will then appeal to you, the player to give your support and this will
lead to your ultimate victory!

Now that you have done it, go enjoy the ending and remember the game is not
truly over until you return home, so explore the world and take in the
sights!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------Weapons---------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

5) This section will look into the weaponry that Ness and his crew can make
use of. It will be divided into specific weaponry for everyone (they
each have a unique weapon type) and one set for common weaponry (that all
can use).

11)This section will strategies for each Boss Fight from through out the
game.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Starman Junior ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
H.P.: 200
P.P.: 999
Exp.: 16
Starman Junior brings his impressive array of PSI spells to battle, but Buzz
Buzz will have Shields in place to protect your party from them. This
battle is not really a battle as you are destined to win this one thanks to
Buzz Buzz (he does all of the work with Shields and damaging attacks).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Frank ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

H.P.: 63

P.P.: 0

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Frankystein Mark II ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
H.P.: 90
P.P.: 0
Exp.: 76
This behemoth is actually not difficult at all. It will spend the first
round generating steam, then it will throw a punch/tear at you on the
second round. Then it will just repeat this pattern of attacking every
second round, so your job is to just bust it into a pile of punk with
repeated bashings from your Tee Ball Bat. You may need to use a healing
Item/Lifeup alpha once because of your damage from your tussle with Frank
however.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Titanic Ant ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

H.P.: 235

P.P.: 102

~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Cop ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~
H.P.: 75
P.P.: 0
Exp.: 86
Simply use your Bash attacks against these consecutive fights, remembering
to use healing Items/Lifeup alpha as necessary because you have to heal on
the go. The Cops can use a regular attack (lower damage) or a Crushing Chop
(massive damage), so they will drain your Hit Points continually.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Captain Strong ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

H.P.: 140

P.P.: 0

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Everdred ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
H.P.: 182
P.P.: 0
Exp.: 986
This guy has a wide array of possible moves, including: Steal (takes an
item), Bite (does decent damage), and knit Brow as well as Grin (wastes a
turn). However, he can inflict good damage when he does attack, so use PSI
Special if you can, and use your bash attack otherwise to win quickly.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Mr. Carpainter ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

H.P.: 262

P.P.: 70

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Mondo Mole ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
H.P.: 498
P.P.: 161
Exp.: 5791
This guy can bring out some hard hitting attacks (Attack, Claws, and Tears
Into You) as well as some annoying PSI spells (PSI Shield alpha, Offense Up
alpha, and Lifeup alpha). However, this hard hitter does have one huge
weakness, and that is too Paralysis alpha (if you have omega by now, you are
WAY over leveled), so make use of it from Ness. So, Ness should use
Paralysis alpha to start and Paula should Thunder alpha (risky, but it does
great damage), with Ness changing to Bash attacks/PSI Special after
successfully getting Mondo Mole rendered useless (he will just heal himself
and up his now useless offense).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Boogie Tent ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

H.P.: 579

P.P.: 56

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Mini Barf ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
H.P.: 616
P.P.: 0
Exp.: 7521
This annoyance will expel stinky breath frequently, causing your people to
cry (dropping their accuracy) as well as attacking. Use PSI Special with
Ness, PSI Fire/PSI Thunder, and Bottle Rockets with Jeff to get the quick
victory.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Master Belch ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

H.P.: 650

P.P.: 0

Exp.: 12509

This fight is so simple, PROVIDED you do one thing. Use the Fly Honey
immediately to make Belch forget about battle, and follow that up with the
strongest PSI attacks from Ness and Paula while Jeff Shoots. If you choose
to not use Fly Honey, it appears Belch does not take any damage (it will show
him taking damage, but it will not subtract from his totals).

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Trillionage Sprout ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
H.P.: 1048
P.P.: 240
Exp.: 30303
This bad sprout is accompanied by two Tough Mobile Sprouts, so wiping them
out quickly is an excellent idea. As for Trillionage Sprout, it can attack,
put a character to sleep, and it can also cause your characters to be
Mushroomized. Have Ness use PSI Special (keep laying it on), PSI Fire for
Paula's first turn, then switch to PSI Freeze every turn following, and Jeff
should make use of his Bottle Rockets and other toys he has on hand.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Guardian Digger ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

H.P.: 386

P.P.: 110

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Dept. Store SPook ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
H.P.: 610
P.P.: 290
Exp.: 24291
With no actual physical attacks to use, this SPook comes at Ness and Jeff
with a wide array of PSI spells, including: Freeze alpha, Brainshock alpha,
Magnet omega, and Lifeup alpha. Ness will be playing the role of healer for
the team as his primary job, Lifeup beta being called into use to repair the
damage this entity deals out, attacking as his secondary duty (save his PP
for the Lifeup spells). Jeff should make use of Bottle Rockets, Bombs,
etc., and then switch to shooting after those run dry. The SPook can be a
super tough enemy, but only if you fight recklessly while letting your Hit
Points go too low.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Mani Mani Statue ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

H.P.: 860

P.P.: 88

Exp.: 28139

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Clumsy Robot ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
H.P.: 962
P.P.: 0
Exp.: 32378
To win this battle, your strategies will need to be slightly different than
the normal ones employed. Your sole goal here is to Bash/Shoot (NO Bottle
Rockets or PSI attacks) away at the odd, little robot, using Lifeup
alpha/beta as needed to keep your Hit Points up. The Clumsy Robot will
waste quite a few turns, land a harsh hit here and there, and he will refill
his Hit Points completely with a Balogna Sandwhich every now and then. Keep
battling it for a bit till the Runaway Five comes through and shuts the
robot off for you!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Shrooom! ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

H.P.: 1700

P.P.: 112

Exp.: 96323

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Shattered Man ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
H.P.: 694
P.P.: 0
Exp.: 44690
Simply put, your people will be receiving some harsh blows from this vicious
fellow. Have Ness Bash, Paula use PSI Freeze, Jeff Shoot, and have Poo
defend or use PSI Freeze to take down the harsh fellow quickly. Be sure to
be ready with Ness or Poo on the Lifeup spells.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Plague Rat Of Doom ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

H.P.: 1827
P.P.: 60

Exp.: 115272

This vermin can be an incredible pain to deal with, as he has Poisonous

Fangs he can attack with (and poison your characters of course) and a
regular attack. The harsh part is he can land multiple SMAAAAAAAAAAASH!
attacks per fight, which for the three characters not named Ness means they
are likely to be mortally wounded by the Plague Rat Of Doom. Ness should
Bash away (especially if you have any Sudden Guts Pills to feed him), Paula
and Poo should unleash PSI Freeze attacks, and Jeff should use Bottle
Rockets before reverting to Shooting. As always, Ness and Poo should be
ready with Lifeup and Healing spells to handle any problems that the Plague
Rat Of Doom serves up.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Thunder And Storm ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
H.P.: 2065
P.P.: 70
Exp.: 129026
These guys can really deal out some pain to your troops with their Crashing
Boom Bang attack (equivalent of a PSI Thunder Beta attack, but requires a
rest by them on the next turn), Intertwine with a character (heavy hitting
attack), and summoning a storm (equivalent of PSI Flash Beta). They are
extremely dangerous, so you should make good use of your time to get rid of
them. Ness should use PSI Special, Paula and Poo should use PSI Freeze, and
Jeff should have a couple Bottle Rockets handy to hurt the team of two
badly. This fight is a truly tough one where your team CAN lose if they are
unprepared.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Kraken ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

H.P.: 1097

P.P.: 176

Exp.: 79267

Kraken can do a few things to try and hurt your party, including: a Crahsing
Boob Bang attack (equivalent of PSI Thunder Beta, he does not have to rest
though, unlike Thunder And Storm), he can breather fire (hit-all attack that
is very powerful), generated a tornado (hit-all attack that is very
powerful), PSI Flash Beta, and a pale green light (neutralizes PSI shields
and status effects).
Poo should use Brainshock Alpha to get him
confused so Kraken will attack himself, followed by joining Paual in the use
of PSI Freeze. With most of the big guys attacks nullified, he will be
easier to beat, but be ready with Lifeup from Ness and Poo as needed so your
party stays strong.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Guardian General ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
H.P.: 831
P.P.: 6
Exp.: 95390
This ancient guard has a few moves, but they go well with the high offense
and higher defense rating it possesses. It can use the following attacks:
shrieked a war cry (lowers offense and defense of one character), come out
swinging (moderate damage to one character), charges forward (heavy damage
to one character), and a regular attack. To win, have Ness Bash, Paula
and Poo should use PSI Freeze, and have Jeff contribute a Bottle Rocket
before beginning to shoot. Provided you get lucky with the PSI Freeze, the
baddie may never get to land a single attack.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Master Barf ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

H.P.: 1319

P.P.: 0

Poo will
swoop in to help once his Hit Points are run down rather low (ending the
battle).

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Starman Deluxe ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
H.P.: 1400
P.P.: 418
Exp.: 160524
Well, you are facing a being that looks more impressive than the lesser
models he was commanding in the Stonehenge base, but is he tougher? Well,
he can call Starmen Super (who in turn can call Starmen), he can fire a
beam, and he can make use the mighty Starstorm alpha (badly hurts your
entire party!). The trick is though, he BEGINS the battle with a PSI Shield
already in place! This leaves you with two battle options:
i) Use Jeff's Neutralizer to remove his shield, and then have Ness use PSI
Special as well as heal the party, Paula should use PSI Freeze, Jeff
should use the Heavy Bazooka/Bottle Rocket/Shoot, and Poo should use
PSI Freeze and heal the party.
ii) Use physical attacks with Ness, Paula, and Poo while Jeff launches a
Multi Bottle Rocket. IF he survives the first round, make use of the
Heavy Bazooka or Big Bottle Rocket with Jeff while everyone continues
the physical assault.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Electro Specter ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

H.P.: 3092

P.P.: 80

Exp.: 261637

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Carbon Dog ~~~ ~~~ Diamond Dog ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
H.P.: 1672 H.P.: 3344
P.P.: 0 P.P.: 154
Exp.: 0 Exp.: 337738
This fight will be a two step battle, as you have to fight the first form of
the Boss (Carbon Dog) before fighting the second (and tougher) form of the
Boss (Diamond Dog).
Carbon Dog can use a few attacks, including: a flaming fireball (deals tons
of damage to a single target), a loud piercing howl (does nothing), a biting
attack (moderate damage attack to a single target), and a spray of Fire
(massive damage to all characters). As for weaknesses, he has one weakness,
and that is to Brainshock (he will come out feeling strange, often hurting
himself when he attacks). Have Ness Bash and heal, Paula should use PSI
Freeze or Bags Of Dragonite, Jeff should use his Heavy Bazooka, and Poo
should use PSI Freeze and heal. Also note that you can just use a Multi
Bottle Rocket from Jeff and just use regular attacks from the rest, which
will also quickly cause Carbon Dog to lose (note that if Jeff delivers the
final blow to Carbon Dog, half of the damage dealt will bounce back and
crank him thanks to the appearing Power Shield of the Diamond Dog). Another
option is to use PSI Flash Beta, which has the potential to kill him off
immediately, bringing on the Diamond Dog.
Now that Diamond Dog has appeared, the rules of the battle change. He
starts with a Power Shield, meaning physical attacks will have half of their
total damage dealt being thrown back at the deliverer of the blow. He also
has a myriad of attacks like: emitting rainbow light (same effects as PSI
Flash Beta), a Biting Attack (moderate damage to a single target), a loud
piercing howl (does nothing), and he can hit you hard (heavy damage to a
single target). You are presented with two choices on how to fight this
menace:
i) Attack him with an all out display of PSI attacks (PSI Special for Ness,
PSI Freeze/Thunder for Paula, and PSI Starstorm for Poo) while Jeff just
defends and uses food Items to heal his friends as needed.
ii) Have Ness use PSI Special, have Paula use PSI Freeze/Thunder, and have
Poo use PSI Starstorm (or maybe PSI Brainshcok Alpha to confuse the
Diamond Dog) on their first turn while Jeff uses his Neutralizer to
remove the Power Shield of the Diamond Dog. Now you can go after him
with any attacks you wish, but the Multi Bottle Rocket attack by Jeff is
highly recommended as it can remove up to 60% of the total Hit Points
Diamond Dog has to begin the fight!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Ness's Nightmare ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

H.P.: 1654

P.P.: 882

Exp.: 89004

This entity starts off the fight using a PSI Shield, which will stop any
direct PSI attacks at him! However, once he uses Power Shield Beta, he will
only block physical attacks. He has a few attacks to use as well,
including: glorious light (PSI Flash Beta equivalent), PSI Special (well he
is part of your own psyche), and PSI Lifeup Beta. To win, start out using
Bash attacks (or possibly Super Bombs if you are carrying any), remembering
to heal yourself with PSI Lifeup as needed. Once the Nightmare uses the
Power Shield on himself, it is time to switch up to using your hard hitting
PSI Special attacks to try and finish him. If you do not succeed right
away, just try again and you will surely get him.
An alternate strategy (thanks to Brian "Dalton Of Zeal" Bond) is to play a
more passive role in the fight. Ness should use Lifeup Beta to keep his
health up as his opponent hammers in with PSI Special, occasionally taking
a Bash at the Shield that is up at the moment. COntinue this until the
Nightmare has run dry on PSI Points, meaning it it now defenseless to face
your merciless hammerings!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~ Heavily Armed Pokey ~~~ ~~~ Giygas ~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
H.P.: 2000 H.P.: 9999
P.P.: 999 P.P.: 0
This fight has three distinct sections, so it will be separated thusly:
========
Part One
========
For this portion, Giygas will attack your crew much like Ness would attack.
Pokey on the other hand will attack in the following ways: discharging a
very stinky gas (drop offense on all characters), charging forward (heavy
damage to a single target), and tears into you (drastic damage to a single
target). For this form, focus your best attacks on Pokey (Ness should Bash,
Paula should PSI Freeze/use Bags Of Dragonite, Jeff should use Multi Bottle
Rockets/Heavy Bazooka, and Poo should use PSI Freeze). DO NOT attack Giygas
as the attacks will just reflect back into your party, causing unneeded
damage. Be sure to have Ness and Poo keep everybody's Hit Points up, and
you may wish to consider putting a PSI Shield up to keep Giygas PSI Special
attacks from connecting with the party.
========
Part Two
========
Giygas will now spend most of the time in the fight taunting Ness and then
attacking with PSI Spells that are not defined (he basically has free rein
to use any existing PSI Spell without restrictions to them that would apply
like single/multiple targeting and defenses/strengths). Continue the all
out assault with Ness Bashing, Paula using PSI Freeze Omega, Jeff should use
his Heavy Bazooka (Multi Bottle Rockets appear to not work), and have Poo
use PSI Freeze Gamma. Keep your Hit Points high while doing this and you
will cause Pokey to return to the scene.
==========
Part Three
==========
To win on this part, dealing damage will not be the path to victory. No,
you must actually resort to a command that you have likely used on your
quest more in fun than in seriousness. I, of course speak of the... PRAYER
COMMAND! Have Paula Pray, each time calling in support from the present
(the future from where you are), each time causing Giygas some damage that
will actually connect. Once Giygas swallows your last prayer attempt, the
game will then appeal to you, the player to give your support and this will
lead to your ultimate victory!
