BUSINESS OVERVIEW
Doing things habitually is such a boring thing, so we need to deviate from the usual.
It's like getting out of the box. Indeed, change is inevitable, no one can stop it. Luckily,
we Filipinos are very adaptive enough to adapt and cope easily with changes.
On a hot summer day, nothing beats a refreshing scoop of your favorite ice cream.
As an answer for a hot summer season we experience in our town and upon doing our
research and thinking critically, we--the group of young entrepreneurs, decided to build
an affordable and profitable ice cream business. We will name it "Mang Veggie's Ice
Cream".
As a solution, we the owners of "Mang Veggie's Ice Cream" thought of a new and
healthy ice cream business and we came up with the idea of selling vegetable-based ice
cream. We chose vegetables to be our main ingredient because first, we want to promote
healthy eating. Second, because of the fact that health is one of the biggest concerns that
we must address and finally for the reason that vegetables are very abundant in our
barangay.
Moreover, Mang Veggie’s Ice Cream offers remarkable and extraordinary taste
which will make our customers patronize our ice cream shop. Our shop will offer ice
cream vegetable flavor such as malunggay, squash, tomatoes and eggplant. We will let
our customers choose their own style and mix of their ice cream. Also, we ought to
provide the best quality services that will surely make us the best ice cream shop in the
town.

To make Mang Veggie’s Ice Cream shop a fun and happy place to work on.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Mang Veggie’s Ice Cream will be a scoop shop located at a certain stall of in some
of the municipalities in Isabela. We anticipate the success of the business due to our
product's diverse flavor and well-known healthy quality ice cream.
Our business' initial flavor offerings will be malunggay, squash, tomatoes and
eggplant. Additional flavors will be added if costumers told us to do so. The price of our
veggie ice cream will be determined according to its size. Small sizes will be Php10.00,
medium sizes will be Php15.00 and large sizes will be Php20.00. Additional P5.00 will be
added for every toppings requested by our customers. Specifically, our add ons (toppings)
will be mallows, rice crispies, sprinkles and chocolate nips.
Mang Veggie’s Ice Cream will demonstrate its commitment to sustainability, both
individually and as a firm by actively participating in our community's affair. We also
plan to participate at every event in every barangay; we will provide special offers during
these events.
We will ensure that we will hold ourselves accountable to the highest standards by
meeting our customers' needs precisely and completely whenever they patronize our
products. We will make sure that upon tasting Mang Veggie’s Ice Cream, a curve on the
lips will be formed. We will cultivate a working environment that provides a human
sustainable approach in earning a living and living in our barangay for our partners,
employees and customers.
II. SALES AND MARKETING PLAN
TARGET CUSTOMERS
One of the most important aspects of opening virtually any new business is
knowing your target audience. Ice cream shops are no exception. You can waste a lot of
time, money, and effort marketing to people who have no interest in entering to an ice
cream shop. It may seem like a lot of work to research your target audience and learn
how to market to them, but it will be well worth the effort.
Families with children, teenagers, adults and other customers like drivers, Local
Government Unit Officers, tricycle drivers all love to consume this healthy frozen
dessert. We can even cater to other customers in our shop who prefer fat free, reduced fat,
and no sugar added ice creams or prefers to create the treat themselves.
Frozen dessert preferences can vary according to both age and gender.
Households enjoy a larger range of frozen dessert products. Young children also consume
a wider selection of ice cream flavours and other frozen desserts. Families who are
traveling with children are more likely to stop for ice cream than individuals and couples
traveling without children.
Teenagers
Teenage girls tend to opt for healthier products such as frozen yogurt, particularly
those labelled as low-fat. On the flip side, teenager girls are also prone to choosing
premium ice cream as a comfort food after a breakup or even a tough day at school.
Teenage boys consistently select premium ice cream products, regardless of personal
circumstances.
Adults
Adults tend to remain faithful to their favourite ice cream products. If a child
loves this frozen dessert, he or she will most likely still love ice cream as an adult. As
youth populations are projected to be in decline over the next seven years, catering to the
adult segment is more important than ever. Most adults prefer the same few flavours that
they have been eating their entire lives. These people believe that the extensive variety of
ice cream flavours available today appeals to children, not adults. This is like proposing
new and trendy ice cream that is vegetable base, which adults will surely love because
they are health conscious.
Other customers
After a long and tiring day at work, LGU officials and tricycle drivers wants to
remove their stress and exhaustion brought by their work so an ice cream is the best food
treat they could give to themselves.
III. OPERATING PLAN
Almost every day, people tend to go to malls to buy goods and different products
so we, the proprietors choose to launch Veggies Best ice cream at Xentro Mall, Tumauini,
Isabela.
We aim for what’s best. We will offer healthy and low fat ice creams that are
vegetable based. In terms of competitors, probably our main competitor would be
those stores who sell manufactured ice cream.
Moreover, we will make sure to provide the best quality services that will surely
make us the best ice cream shop in Tumauini Isabela.
IV. HUMAN RESOURCES PLAN
Owner- The owner is the one that has the power or authority that can orient, select,
recruit, train, instruct and discipline his/her people that can increase the management’s
effectiveness.
Accountant- He or She is accountable for all money issues including preparing financial,
budgets and statements for the organization.
Sales People- They are the one who communicates with the customers and uses the
opportunity to company’s products and services.
VI. PRODUCT AND SERVICE OFFERING
At Mang Veggie’s Ice Cream, we deal in all forms and flavors of ice cream. Our
business will succeed due to our one of a kind healthy product.
Our product in Mang Veggie’s Ice Cream consists of healthy ingredients. We will
use skim milk, eggs, white sugar, and our main ingredient--vegetable. No preservatives
added which means it is a low fat ice cream and definitely a nutritious one.
Our most competitive edge is our unique product offering not found elsewhere.
Our goal is to maintain product consistency so that every time a customer comes into our
store they will receive the same high quality, great tasting frozen treat.
Mang Veggie’s Ice Cream competitors also offer ice cream but we provide one of
a kind product. We ought to provide taste and twists of our product if our customers will
ask for it. It is also great for special occasions. We will give freebies and promos during
Valentine’s Day for couples. During Christmas Day we will offer 25% discount for every
10 purchase of Mang Veggie’s Ice Cream but the discount depends on the price of the ice
cream. The higher the price, the higher the discount to be availed.
V. ACTION PLAN
Mang Veggie’s Ice Cream will be positioned at a certain stall in Xentro Mall,
Tumauini, Isabela. In terms of products we don’t have a major competitor because our
product is one of a kind and no one sells a vegetable ice cream.

Don’ts
Never ignore your customers- Interactions with the customers is an important
aspect in our daily work. Our staff must give his or her full and undivided
attention to the customers.
Don’t treat people like a peso sign- You must remember that your customers are
human beings and not walking wallets.
Aggression is not the answer- What makes a genuinely successful interaction is
primarily the knowledge that there is a friendly and experienced employee
available nearby to assist if help is required.
Don’t be discourage by negative feedbacks- Regardless of how biting a review
may be, it is important not to take these comments to heart. A negative review is a
golden opportunity to improve your business.
