DAHANU THERMAL POWER STATION

Dahanu Thermal Power Station (DTPS), Reliance Energy's hostage control age
plant is one of the first power age plants in India. It initiated its business
operations in January 1996.It is a coal based plant situated at seaside Dahanu
town in the territory of Maharashtra. The power plant is worked by Reliance
Infrastructure. It has an introduced limit of 500 MW (2x250 MW) and supply
energy to rural Mumbai.

As fuel the plant utilize blend of Indian washed coal from Chhattisgarh and
imported coal from South Africa and Indonesia by means of ocean course. The
general mixing proportion is 80:20. It supplies vitality at the tax of Rs 2.45 for
each unit.

The plant has many honors for its unmistakable highlights as far as execution,
mechanical advancement and maintainability. The plant is the primary Power
Company to be affirmed ISO 14001 for its ecological administration framework
and ISO 9001 for its quality administration.

Dahanu town in the domain of Maharashtra. The power plant is worked by
Reliance Infrastructure. It has a presented point of confinement of 500 MW
(2x250 MW) and supply vitality to provincial Mumbai.

As fuel the plant use mix of Indian washed coal from Chhattisgarh and imported
coal from South Africa and Indonesia by methods for sea course. The general
blending extent is 80:20. It supplies imperativeness at the assessment of Rs 2.45
for every unit.

The plant has many respects for its unmistakable features similar to execution,
mechanical headway and viability. The plant is the essential Power Company to
be insisted ISO 14001 for its environmental organization system and ISO 9001
for its quality organization.
DETAILED DAY WISE INFORMATION
AT DTPS TRAINING :-

DAY 1

• Initially, a composed test was directed which had inquiries regarding nuts
and bolts of warm power plant designing and gear's and plant points of interest
at DAHANU THERMAL POWER STATION.

What's more, after the addresses we went by the plant and found out about the
fundamental structure of plant.

Day 2

The primary preparing began on day 2 of our training. The following gives a

short record of the work done on the second day of the preparation:-

• DC battery set up in plant-220 V DC, 1200 Ah for each unit, its

intention is to control and ensure hardware and in addition crisis supply.

• Station transformer-220/6.6 KV hydrogen filled

• Bus course of action

• Switch yard types of gear-

SF6 Circuit Breakers-for operation and upkeep Current transformer-venture

down current to 1 A for security, observing and estimation
reason

Potential transformer-advance down voltage to 110V

Lightning arrestor-releases lightning and exchanging over voltage

securely to ground.

Wave trap-squares higher recurrence.

Transport and covers

In the second half we were taken to switchyard and were acquainted with
the switchyard types of gear which were instructed in before address i.e.
Circuit breakers,CT,PT,Lightning arrestors and so forth.

DAY 3

DAY 3 was a continuation of energy plant operations began on DAY 2

The operations performed on day 3 are given beneath:

220KV Switchyard assurance

Course stumbling loads gets moved to other line causing over-burdening

Zone setting-3 zones as indicated by the length.

Auto reclosure transfer to extinguish the curve in electrical switch

Power swing hindering because of uneven load

Wire come up short supervision

Line differential assurance

S
Reinforcement overcurrent and earth blame transfer trips entire 3 stages.

End blame assurance This will work if blame is outside electrical switch.

Breaker disappointment assurance if breaker isn't working then this transfer

will

trip the various transfer on that line.

HT(> 1KV) and LT(<415V) engines

2 shaft motor,DOL starter at DTPS

Testing-

CONCLUSION
Industrial training is very essential for engineering students. It is also a great
opportunity to acquire practical knowledge . During the training period I
acquired lots of experience in Energy production and Production management.
This will surely help in theoretical classes as well as in future profession. We
also enhanced competencies and competitiveness in our area of study. We tried
to relate the experience in the workplace with knowledge learned in our
university and applied the knowledge to understand the working of plant with
the help of faculty members and workers of DTPS.

Here we gained the experience and knowledge that can be used for suitable job
without delay after studies.

We learned to hone soft skills appropriate to the working environment. Also

get improvised in communication skills. We assessed knowledge and confidence
as well as enhanced our marketability more competitive.

With experience and knowledge and skills acquired during industrial training
we will be better prepared to face working world.
