It is with great pride that MAM presents Mira Schendel: Sinais/Signals,
a panorama of the work of this internationally admired artist.
Sinais/Signals* apresenta uma extensa seleção de trabalhos de Mira
Schendel (1919-88) dos quais emergem os elementos que tanto ca-
racterizam a natureza singular da obra gráfica da artista: linhas, pala-
vras, letras, rabiscos, traços, números, frases e muito mais. Sem ser
um resumo ou retrospectiva, esta exposição pretende reunir uma
região da obra em que se manifestam tais aparições, especialmen-

Without being a summary or retrospective, this exhibition seeks to
assemble an area of the work where such apparitions are manifest,
particularly the works that Mira called the Monotipias (Monotypes),
