    THERMODYNAMICS (DME 2401)

    Attention:

     Please answer all following question neatly in A4 paper.


     Make sure you include this assignment question as well when
    submitting your assignment.
     Please make a cover page and clearly state your name, ID number,
    semester and your program when submitting your assignment.

    1. What is a system? What is the difference between a closed and open system?
    2. What is a cycle?
    3. Explain the concept of Thermodynamic Equilibrium.
    4. What is a Quasi-Static Process? What is its characteristic feasure?
    5. What is Zeroth Law of Thermodynamics? Explain its thermodynamic significance.
    6. Explain the First Law of Thermodynamics. Which is the Property introduced by the First Law?
    7. Give the Statements of Second Law of Thermodynamics.
    8. What is the difference between Work and Heat?
    9. If 𝑃1 = 3.00 𝑎𝑡𝑚, 𝑉1 = 500 𝑐𝑚3 , 𝑃2 = 1.00 𝑎𝑡𝑚, and 𝑉2 = 2000𝑐𝑚3 , calculate the work, 𝑊
    for the process shown in figure below.

    10. The initial temperature of 150g of ethanol was 22°𝐶. What will be the final temperature of the
    ethanol if 3240J was needed to raise the temperature of the ethanol?
