Universal Design for Learning (UDL):

 Supports ELL students (shows the problem and possible answers to the questions)
 Supports visual learners
 Supports students with elimination process (multiple choice)

Describe the instructional activities that will occur PRIOR to the SRT activity and how you will
introduce the SRT activity.

The teacher will introduce the activity to the students by giving the students 3 warm up problems on
the board to get their mind jogging. Once the students complete their warm up problems, the teacher
will have 3 different students go to the board and work out the problems so that all the other students
can watch and see how it is worked out and see the correct answer. After the students get done
working the problems, the teacher will give the students the computers and have the students
complete the Plickers assignment.
Describe the purpose of the SRT activity (check all that apply):

Student Response and Assessment Tools
☒ Assess prior knowledge ☐ Anticipatory set (Create interest in a topic) ☒ To illuminate
common misconceptions ☒ Formative assessment of content knowledge (for purpose of
differentiation and mastery for ALL students) ☐ Summative assessment of content knowledge
☐ Test preparation
☐ Survey/Poll ☒ Discussion starter ☐ “Homework” collection ☐ Other (please explain):

Briefly describe what will happen DURING the SRT activity:

The students will work independently completing the teacher made Plickers and once the students
have completed the Plickers, the students will make their own Plickers to share with their peers and
have them complete it to show understanding and mastery of adding and subtracting with numbers 0-
20. The teacher will monitor the class as they are doing since as it is a formative assessment. The
materials needed would be the computers, pencil, and paper for scratch work. This activity will last
approximately 30-45 minutes long.
Type of questions/prompts used in this activity (check all that apply):
☒ Multiple choice ☐ Multiple select ☐ True/False ☐ Yes/No
☐ Short open-ended response or fill-in the blank ☐ Longer open-ended response

If you are unable to provide a working sample of your questions, please list them below (8-10):

Right/Wrong answers: Will there be right/wrong answers to these questions?
☒ Yes ☐ No
☐ Mixed (Some will have correct answers, other will not.)
Immediate corrective feedback: Will you pre-select correct answers to some of all of the questions
and display correct response to the class after the SRT activity?
☒ Yes
☐ No
Why or why not?

Student Response and Assessment Tools
There will be a corrective feedback so that the student will be allowed the opportunity to learn and
understand the correct answer so that they will not go into the next lesson with unknown information
and questions.
Describe what will happen AFTER the SRT activity?
After the students complete the students complete the teacher made Plickers and make their own
Plickers, the students will trade computers with their friends and complete their Plickers. Once they
finish about 3 peers’ Plickers, the students will go back to their seats and the teacher will introduce
adding with larger numbers above 20.
How will the data be used?

The data will be used to see where the students stand in adding and subtracting within 0-20. If the
majority of the class struggles, the teacher will continue to teach the lessons and make sure that the
students are understanding and mastering the information. If the students are understanding the
information, the teacher will move on to adding numbers larger than 20. All the students will receive a
participation grade doing this assignment.
Describe your personal learning goal for this activity.

The teacher is allowing the students to take an online quiz that they have not yet experienced. The
students are also getting to make their own Plickers test for others to try which they have not gotten to
make. This allows the students to learn their facts forwards and backwards when making their own
Plickers. I plan to learn if Plickers is a website that students can work through and if they can, we can
use this more often I the classroom and even with homework assignments.
Reflective Practice:
To move this activity to a LoTi 5, the teacher could have the Plickers published and made to where
the other students can complete the student made Plickers on the classroom website. The final projects
could also be published to a website where a whole team of students and teachers could access them,
learn from them, and display the students work to the public.
