Arkansas Winter Wheat Yield Forecast Down 4 Bushels from June


Mississippi Winter Wheat Yield Forecast Down 3 Bushels from June

As of July 1, Arkansas winter wheat production for 2018 is forecast at 5.60 million bushels, down 15 percent from the
June 1 forecast and down 14 percent from last year. Based on July 1 conditions, yield is forecast at 56 bushels per acre,
4 bushels lower than last month but 4 bushels above last year. Area for harvest, at 100,000 acres, is unchanged from the
Acreage report released on June 29, 2018, but down 20 percent from 2017. The July 2, 2018, Arkansas Crop Progress and
Condition report showed 100 percent of the winter wheat crop had been harvested.

Mississippi winter wheat production for 2018 is forecast at 2.07 million bushels, down 5 percent from the June 1 forecast
but up 42 percent from last year. Based on July 1 conditions, yield is forecast at 59 bushels per acre, 3 bushels lower than
last month but 1 bushel above last year. Area for harvest, at 35,000 acres, is unchanged from the Acreage report released
June 29, 2018, but up 40 percent from 2017. The July 2, 2018, Mississippi Crop Progress and Condition report showed
99 percent of the winter wheat crop had been harvested.

United States winter wheat production is forecast at 1.19 billion bushels, down slightly from the June 1 forecast and
down 6 percent from 2017. Based on July 1 conditions, the United States yield is forecast at 48 bushels per acre, down
0.4 bushel from last month and down 2.2 bushels from last year. The area expected to be harvested for grain or seed totals
24.8 million acres, unchanged from the Acreage report released on June 29, 2018, but down 2 percent from 2017.
