“At Murdoch I made some friends that I will
never forget. They helped me and taught
me so much, and I know that some of my
memories with them will never be topped.
I would recommend Murdoch to a student
who doesn’t want a huge university, and
one that doesn’t want to get lost in the
crowd. At Murdoch, I felt like I was an
integral part of my friends’ lives, and an
important part of the community, even if
only there for four months. It is the type of
school where you can make an impact if you
want to. Also, because Murdoch is located
between Perth and Fremantle, there are so
many different things you can do at night.
I had so much fun at Murdoch, especially
in Student Village, and I wouldn’t trade my
experience or memories for the world, and I
think choosing Murdoch was a big factor
in that.”

“I have had a lot of fun at Murdoch University. One of the best experiences I had was the
Northwest Trip with other exchange students. We go to visit so many landmarks in ten days.
I enjoyed this trip so much, not only because we had great activities, but I shared them with
wonderful friends. I have been able to meet many different people from many different
backgrounds on exchange.

Studying at Murdoch is unlike my university in Japan. The campus is so relaxing. One of my

favourite places is Bush Court, a massive field filled with beautiful grass, but the reason I really
like it is that there are some chairs and beanbags available for students. It’s a great place to
take a break at lunch time, when I am stressed and want to have a rest. The environment is
excellent and everyone here makes you feel so welcome.”

The Murdoch
North West trip
This region, called the Pilbara, is rugged, hot and dusty, yet will mesmerise you with its
beauty and splendour. The mountainous outcrops are the oldest on earth and they will
impress you with their majesty. The region also has some of our most hardy fauna and flora.
You may come across the shy rock wallaby, the perenti lizard, the grey and the red kangaroo
and many other unique animals.

Monkey Mia in Shark Bay is one of the highlights of the excursion. Monkey Mia is World
Heritage-listed and is one of only 12 places in the world to have satisfied all that is required
for the honour. The main attraction is dolphins swimming close to the shore to greet you,
hoping to be fed. This is as close as you will ever get to a dolphin unless you work in a
marine park. Along with dolphins, there is other marine life, such as the Dugongs, called
the ‘Mermaids of the Sea’, turtles and giant rays. This area is also home to our oldest living
ancestors, the Stromatolites, (which have evolved over three to four billion years) as well as
Shell Beach, which is an entire beach made of shells.

You will have the opportunity to snorkel in our most well-known marine park, the Ningaloo
