THE FACTORS THAT INFLUENCE THE LEVEL OF IMPLANT USING IN THE

WORKING AREA OF TAHTUL YAMAN LOCAL GOVERNMENT CLINIC
JAMBI CITY IN 2017

Based on the Reports of Birth Control Result in January to July 2013 National
Family Planning Coordinating Board, the coverage of birth control in postpartum and
post-miscarriage is compared with the coverage of new birth control participants as
many as 13.27%. The results are still dominated by non long-term contraception
methods, namely injections (52.49%) and pill (18.95%), while long-term
contraception methods of implant (8.08%), IUD (14.06%), female operation method
(3.27%) and male operation method (0.02%). (Ministry of Health RI, 2013). The use
of Implant birth control devices in Jambi City is still quite low where Local
Government Clinic (LGC) with the use of the lowest Implant birth control of first order
in the year of 2016 is Tahtul Yaman LGC namely 0%.
This research is a quantitative research with Cross Sectional design. the
research design used is descriptive analysis with path analysis which aims to see the
influence of knowledge, motivation and social economic status of birth control on the
utilization rate of birth control of Implant in working area of Tahtul Yaman LGC of
Jambi City in 2017. The number of populations is 1,430 people with number of
sample 93 respondents.
The results were obtained that most of the respondents are not very good
knowledge, low motivation, low income and use implant 1-23 months. From the
results of statistical test Path analysis are found that there is a positive influence of
knowledge, motivation and social economic status on the level of using birth control
of implant In the Work Area Tahtul Yaman LGC City Jambi in 2017.
The character based on a good knowledge will be a guideline that can be used
as a basis for someone to act correctly and appropriately. The more someone knows
what an implant is, the implant advantages and the benefits of using the implant then
automatically the motivation will also increase to use Implant birth control.
Accordingly one of the efforts that can be done to increase the interest of birth
control acceptor to use Implant birth control is to routinely give counseling about birth
control typically about Implant birth control and National Family Planning
Coordinating Board should cooperate with LGC in giving subsidy of birth control
devices especially long-term contraception methods.
