OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to narrate factual and imagined events and experiences by
writing minimum 4 captions based on the pictures given.

Complementary Writing
By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to connect minimum 4 sentences by using at least one
conjunction. (E.g. For, And, Nor, But, Or, Yet, So…)

Activity 1 (Pair Work).
a) In pairs pupils study the pictures given.

Pupils write the captions with guidance from the given words.

Pupils write the captions based on the pictures given.

b) Pupils are reminded to use conjunctions like for, and, but, or, yet so etc to construct captions.
c) Pupils share their answers with other pairs.
Activity 2 (Group Work)
(a) Pupils work in a group of 4-5 members.
(b) Pupils write a narrative of the chosen pictures.

Low/Intermediate: (Handout 2a)


(i) Pupils are assigned to the pictures with some guiding words.
ii) Pupils write a 50 word narrative. Pupils are reminded to use the conjunctions given.
High: (Handout 2b)
(i) Pupils choose a picture.
(ii) Pupils write a narrative of 50 words. Pupils are reminded to use the conjunctions given.
(c) Gallery Walk – Pupils share their stories.
Post Lesson
Pupils talk about the things they consider “needs” and “wants”.
