Map Visualization of frequency of Earthquake

Abstract Results: magnitude in Sindhupalchok and Dolakha:
The Gorkha 2072 (2015) earthquake was very unique and destroyed
many houses and infrastructures. The damage distribution indicates
significant ground motion directivity which results more damage in the
eastern side compared to western side of the epicentre.

Introduction
Nepal lies in the central part of the Himalayan chain and seismically
active zone. Geologically, the Gorkha earthquake which is Mw 7.8
occurred on or close to the main Himalayan frontal thrust fault and
geographically near Barpak, a mountain village of Gorkha district The
earthquake was followed by many powerful aftershocks. From the
graduated symbol map showing magnitude of earthquakes, we can
analyse about the intensity of earthquake graphically, predict the
damages caused,
Conclusions
The Gorkha earthquake was a uncommon earthquake
The 2072 (2015) earthquake severely damaged the 15 districts of Nepal, where in the Himalaya because it has damaged heavily to the
Sindhupalchok and Dolakha were extremely suffered. east compared to west from the Epicentre. Moreover,
the seismic nature of this earthquake is still mysterious
for geo-scientist working in this reason. The major
earthquake effects include infrastructure and building
losses, land sliding, and ground failures including
liquefaction and lateral spreading. It is very hard to
explain the nature and pattern of damage of the
earthquake due to lack of sufficient ground motion data.
