Based on your order, DEUTZ AG has had a package of several data files sent to you. We’d like
to take this opportunity to explain to you the data formats and programs contained in the
package.
Please be aware that passing on the data files to third parties or usage of the data for any
purpose other than testing the assembly is only permitted if written permission from the
Information Systems Sales & Service department of DEUTZ AG has been obtained.

SMG files for viewing the engine on standard PCs

An SMG file with the complete engine is always supplied, and if appropriate, an SMG file with
any loose assembly kits supplied is also included. These are bundled with the corresponding
program 3DVia Composer Player and are supplied in EXE file format. No installation is
necessary.

You will be supplied with STEP files if these are requested. They are structured as follows:
In the folder „xxxxx-x_{Typ}_engine“, all assembly kits built onto the engine are saved as STEP
files. The STEP files must be loaded individually.
All assembly kits not built onto the engine are saved as STEP files in the folder „xxxxx-
x_{Typ}_shipped-loose“. If required, these can be loaded up as well, and then positioned.

You will be supplied with Parasolid files if you have requested these. They are structured as
follows:
All assembly kits built onto the engine are saved as Parasolid files in the folder „xxxxx-
x_{Typ}_engine“. The Parasolid files must be loaded individually.
All assembly kits not built onto the engine are saved as Parasolid files in the folder „xxxxx-
x_{Typ}_shipped-loose“. If required, these can be loaded up as well, and then positioned.

zukommen lassen. An dieser Stelle möchten wir ihnen die erhaltenen Datenformate und
Programme erläutern.
Bitte beachten Sie, dass eine Weitergabe an Dritte oder eine Verwendung der Daten über die
Einbauuntersuchung hinaus nur mit schriftlicher Genehmigung durch die DEUTZ AG, Abt.
Information Systems Sales & Service, erlaubt ist.

SMG Dateien zum Betrachten des Motors auf Standard-PCs

Im Lieferumfang immer enthalten ist eine SMG Datei mit dem vollständigen Motor und ggf. eine
SMG Datei mit den lose mitgelieferten Bausätzen. Diese werden mit dem zugehörigen
Programm 3DVia Composer Player gebündelt und als EXE Datei beigefügt. Eine Installation ist
nicht notwendig.

Short introduction for the most important functions of the 3DVia Composer Player

Kurze Einführung in die wichtigsten Funktionen des 3DVia Composer Player

Dear user,
within the data transfer you get the "normal" 3D CAD model and a special designed 3D format that
includes the program 3DVia Composer Player and a 3D SMG model.
In one of the attachments you will find an *.exe file.
This 3D program runs without any installation on any standard windows computer.

Sehr geehrter Nutzer,

mit diesem Datenabruf erhalten Sie das "normale" 3D CAD Modell und ein spezielles 3D Format, das
sich aus dem zugehörigen Programm, dem 3DVia Composer Player und einem 3D SMG Modell
zusammensetzt. Die Datei ist als *.exe Programm angehängt.
Dieses 3D Programm ist ohne Installation auf jedem handelsüblichen Windows Computer lauffähig.

Datei Öffnen
Doppelklick auf die Datei.
Beim Öffnen der Datei wird das
Programm und das 3D Modell
geöffnet.
Wenn die folgende
Fehlermeldung erscheint: „Your
video card is not in 32 bit Mode“,
dann muss eine Änderung in
den Grafikkarten-Einstellungen
vorgenommen werden.
Wenn diese Meldung erscheint
ist Ihre Bildschirmanzeige noch
nicht auf eine 32 Bit Rate
eingestellt. Dieses lässt sich
sehr einfach umstellen. Mit der
rechten Maustaste auf den
Desktop klicken und
„Eigenschaften“ auswählen.
Im dann erscheinenden
Auswahlfenster unter dem Punkt
Einstellungen den Bildschirm
von 16 auf 32 Bit umstellen und
mit „OK“ bestätigen
Nach dem Öffnen erscheint das
3D Modell inklusive den
sogenannten Annotationen. Für
die weitere Beschreibung, die
Annotationen zunächst
ausblenden. Über den
Menüpunkt “Show and hide
collaboration” werden die
Annotationen ein und
ausgeblendet.

Open file
To open the file, make a duple
click over the icon. Both, the
program and the 3D model open
automatically.
If the fault message "Your video
card is not in 32 bit Mode"
appears, you need to change an
attribute in your video card.
If this message appears, the
video card is not set to the 32 bit
rate yet. A simple adjustment is
necessary. Click with the right
mouse button on the desktop
and select properties in the
menu that appears. Open
"Settings" on the tool bar. In the
drop-down-window "Color
quality" change the value to 32
(bit) and confirm with “OK”.
After loading the 3D model it
appears together with the
annotations. To hide the
annotations for the moment
select “Show and hide
collaboration” from the menu

Composer Player
Bewegen des Modells
In der Menüleiste, siehe
Abbildung, sind die folgenden
Funktionen vorbelegt. An dieser
Stelle bedarf es keiner weiteren
Einstellung, wenn ihre Maus

Anderenfalls die gewünschte

Hinweise zum Drehen des
Modells:
Den Cursor auf den Punkt
positionieren um den gedreht

Der rote Punkt zeigt die Stelle
um die das Modell nun gedreht

Zoom
Hinweise zum Zoomen des
Modells
Einfaches Ein-, und Auszoomen
ist mit dem Mausrad möglich.
Soll ein bestimmter Bereich
gezoomt werden, dann wie folgt
vorgehen:
Wähle in der Menüleiste den
Menüpunkt "Zoom window" aus.
Mit gedrückter linker Maustaste
mit dem Cursor über den
gewünschten Bereich einen
Rahmen ziehen. Maustaste
gehen lassen. Der gewünschte
Bereich erscheint nun groß auf
dem Monitor.
Hinweis: Eine Bewegung des
Cursors beim markieren von
rechts nach links bewirkt keine
Vergrößerung sondern eine
Verkleinerung.
Gesamtdarstellung / Zentrierung
des Motors
Nach dem ganzen Zoomen und
Drehen will man oft den Motor
wieder zentriert und komplett
sehen können. Hierzu gibt es
eine sehr gute Funktion, die fast
aus jedem Modus heraus
funktioniert.
Einfach einen Doppelklick
irgendwo auf das Modell, und
dann sollte der Motor sich selber
zentrieren und an den Rahmen
anpassen.

Zoom
Advices for zooming the 3D
model
A simple zoom function is
available with the mouse wheel.
To zoom a special area do the
following:
Select “Zoom window” from the
pull down menu.
Position the cursor to the upper
or lower left corner of the
desired viewing section. Press
down the left mouse button and
drag the cursor diagonal over
the desired viewing section.
Release the mouse button. The
marked section will be enlarged.
Note: Moving the cursor from
right to left will not enlarge the
section, it will reduce the image.
Total view / Positioning of the
Engine
It is possible to view the engine
complete and centered after
zooming and rotating. A simple
procedure enables this in almost
every modus.
With a double click the engine
should center and locate itself in
the frame.

"Motorkonfiguration 3D", blendet
alle Motor Bausätze aus. Der
Motor wird ausgeblendet.
Es kann jetzt einer oder mehrere
Bausätze ausgewählt werden,
indem in das Feld vor der BS
Nummer geklickt wird.
Nur die ausgewählte Baugruppe
wird angezeigt.
Um wieder den ganzen Motor
anzuzeigen, wähle in der
