List of selected candidates for Admission to PhD Program, Even Semester 2017-18

1. The following candidates have been selected as per the merit list prepared by the departments for
admission to various categories of PhD programme at NIT Durgapur.

2. This selection is provisional and subject to fulfillment of the admission criteria.

3. The selected candidates should come up personally with the following original documents
alongwith a set of self-attested photocopies and report to the Academic Section for admission on
10th January, 2018 at 10:00 AM.

4. List of documents that must be produced by the candidates

A. Full time research scholar with institute fellowship

(i) Marks sheet / Grade card of the secondary, higher secondary board and other university examinations

(ii) Certificate / provisional certificate of the last qualifying examination

(iii) Proof of date of birth

(iv) NET/GATE certificate as applicable

(v) Community certificate (SC/ST) from a competent authority as per the format given in the website, if
applicable

(vi) Community certificate in case of OBC candidates from a competent authority as per the format given in
the website indicating the status regarding creamy layer, issued on or after 01/04/2017.

(vii) Person with Disability (PwD) certificate from a competent authority as per the format given in the website,
if applicable
 (viii) Relevant document showing CGPA-Percentage of marks conversion as followed in the qualifying degree
awarding University / Institute.

(ix) Fees payment receipt; Rs. 22500 (Rs. Twenty two thousand five hundred only)

(x) Any other relevant document

B. Full-time Research Scholar with financial support from Government/Semi-Government /

other organizations
(i) Marks sheet / Grade card of the secondary, higher secondary board and other university examinations

(ii) Certificate / provisional certificate of the last qualifying examination

(iii) Proof of date of birth

(iv) NET/GATE certificate as applicable

(iv) Community certificate (SC/ST) from a competent authority as per the format given in the website, if
applicable

(v) Community certificate in case of OBC candidates from a competent authority as per the format given in
the website indicating the status regarding creamy layer, issued on or after 01/04/2017.

(vi) Person with Disability (PwD) certificate from a competent authority as per the format given in the website,
if applicable

(vii) Relevant document showing CGPA-Percentage of marks conversion as followed in the qualifying degree
awarding University / Institute.

(viii) Fees payment receipt; Rs. 22500 (Rs. Twenty two thousand five hundred only)

• Candidates seeking admission to PhD program having their fellowship from various government
organisations such as CSIR, UGC, DBT etc. (Must be supported by a No Objection Certificate from the
Supervisor).

• Candidates seeking admission to PhD program having their fellowship under the DST-INSPIRE scheme
 (Must be supported by a No Objection Certificate from the Supervisor).

C. Full-time Research Scholar selected in Externally Funded Sponsored Projects in the

Institute

(i) Marks sheet / Grade card of the secondary, higher secondary board and other university examinations

(ii) Certificate / provisional certificate of the last qualifying examination

(iii) Proof of date of birth

(iv) NET/GATE certificate as applicable for the categories

(v) No Objection Certificate from the Principle Investigator as per the format given in the website (for the
candidates of externally funded sponsored projects)

(vi) Relevant document showing CGPA-Percentage of marks conversion as followed in the qualifying degree
awarding University / Institute.

(vii) Fees payment receipt; Rs. 22500 (Rs. Twenty two thousand five hundred only)

(Viii) Any other relevant document

5. All candidates are also required to pay an amount of Rs.3000 towards mess fees in the respective
hostel account.
