In anticipation of rigs being activated in our Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific regions, Ensco
is recruiting externally for Assistant Drillers. Vacancies for these roles may not be immediate
and are contingent upon stacked rigs being reactivated. Successful candidates must be willing
to work anywhere in these regions.

Job Summary

Assist Driller with the operation of drilling equipment and machinery, including the fluids-
circulation system. Directs the Drill crew to assure optimum in the drilling process.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

* Responsible for own safety as well as that of the Drill crew

* Attend and participate in all pre-tour, post tour and weekly safety meetings

* Conducts pre-tour, pre-task planning, safety orientations, and safety meetings

* Controls operation of well control equipment under direction of OIM, Toolpusher, and Driller

* Assists specialized contractors during wireline, casing, and cementing operations

* Administers preventative maintenance program on all drilling equipment under direction of

Driller

* Maintains appropriate logs and records in accordance with company, regulatory, and
certification agency requirements

* Operates drilling equipment and coordinates the operation of machinery and equipment
necessary to prepare to drill and to drill

* Operates the draw works to lift casing, drill collars and drill pipes as required to connect
joints of pipe together

* Operates drilling fluid circulating pumps to discharge the fluid from the pit into the drill
string

* Controls power to the drill pipe tongs used to tighten or break loose pipe connection joints

* Interprets gauge readings showing status of weight indicator, rotary speed, circulation
system flow and others for an optimum drilling process

* Monitors drilling fluid status and alarms to ensure within specified criteria along with Driller

* Conducts pit drills for Drill crew training

* Conducts a flow check on every connection when on the controls

* Controls operation of well control equipment when on the controls

* Monitors assigned jacking station during jacking operations

* Responsible for pipe and casing tallies under direction of Driller

* Responsible for maintaining check and tracking documents as required including: Trip
Sheets, Trend Monitoring, and HPHT Finger Printing under direction of Driller

* Adhere to and follows correct lock-out, tag-out procedures

* Responsible for measuring and laying out a new bottom hole assemblies prior to time they
are needed

Experience

* Prior offshore experience as Assistant Driller or land experience in a Driller role and good
working knowledge with top-drive

Education, Training, Licenses and/or Certifications

* High School diploma or GED equivalent required

* Must meet all the training and certification requirements which will vary by unit location
according to local requirements and regulations. Specific unit requirements will be found in
local job specification procedures and guidelines

Minimum Requirements for this position

* Demonstrate and conduct behavior in line with Ensco vision and core values, and Ensco
Management System (EMS)

* Demonstrates understanding and is proactive regarding STOP program objectives

* Encourage awareness and actively participate in STOP program

* Must have the ability to initiate and promote Stop Work Authority

* Must be willing to notify direct supervisor of any unsafe acts, safety violations or potential
safety violations

* Compliance with Ensco training, certification and competence requirements

* Physically capable of performing Emergency Response team Duties as per MODU Station Bill

Minimum Requirements for all Ensco positions

* Able to display commitment to Ensco's safety culture through personal behavior and
willingness to influence others

* Must be willing to report safety violations and potential safety violations to appropriate

* Ability to multi-task and establish priorities

* Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate
effectively

* Must have excellent team-working and organizational skills

* Work effectively alone or as part of a team on projects

* Exercise sound judgments and make decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job
functions

* Maintain flexible attitude and approach towards assignments and successfully operate under
ambiguous guidelines.

* Able to maintain regular and acceptable attendance

* Available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as determined
necessary to meet business needs

* PC proficiency required - competency with Microsoft Office Software suite version 2007 or
greater
