This ZIP file contains 4 bootable hard disk image files for the Emulator-III.
Operating system 2.42 has been installed on these images, but no sound banks.
The images have been pre-formatted for hard disks with a physical size equal to or
larger than:
- 96 MB (=typical 100MB ZIP disk size)
- 239 MB (=typical 250MB ZIP disk size)
- 464 MB
- 953 MB
A/ How to create a normal (un-partitioned) hard disk (e.g. CF card, SD card, ZIP
disk, SCSI HD, ...)
1. Find the image in the ZIP file which fits best the physical size of the hard
disk/card
(without exceeding the physical size of the hard disk/card)
3. You can boot the Emulator-III from the hard disk/card now !
6. Reboot the Emulator-III with the floppy disk inserted in the floppy drive
7. Re-format the hard disk/card. The hard disk/card will now be formatted to a
size which may fit better
in its physical size than the original image size does.
9. Copy the operating system from the floppy disk back to the hard disk/card
with the Copy Software function
1. First format all partitions on the SD card with the "Format Hard Disk"
function in EMXP, available on http://www.emxp.net
(select option "Format a multi-device SCSI2SD ... hard disk" to do this !)
2. Find the image in the ZIP file which fits best the physical size of the first
SCSI2SD partition
(without exceeding the physical size of that partition)
4. You can boot the Emulator-III from the first partition on the SCSI2SD card
now !
7. Done. The Emulator-III can boot now from any of the SCSI2SD partitions.
The first partition is now formatted to a size which may fit better in its
physical size than the original image size does
9. On the Emulator-III, copy the operating system from one of the other SCSI2SD
partitions (see step 6) back to the first partition now.
Use the Copy Software function (Master->Disk Utilities->Copy Software)
10. Done. The Emulator-III can boot now from any of the SCSI2SD partitions.
