PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Raise the Children International : ​Vryburg, South Africa- Tiger Kloof Combined School
(January 2018- present)
● Mentoring eighteen orphaned South African youth both in combined and individualized
settings
● Providing individualized intervention strategies for at-risk students and weekly
one-on-one tutoring
● Co-organizing and executing group mentorship sessions on a variety of topics such as
self-love, mindset, successful black families, etc.
● Assessing individualized needs of each orphaned child and communicating with
necessary stakeholders in order to ensure proper living and self-care during their stay in
the boarding school.
● Drafting weekly reports that outlines each youth’s overall stamina, moral, well-being and
progress in the program.
● Initiating and sustaining a fluid dialogue with each of the mentee’s teachers in order to
ensure quality performance within the classroom
● Creating and delivering lesson plans for grade eight, eleven and twelve English classes.
● Organizing a Spanish club which offers optional after-school classes for South African
students interested in learning the Spanish language and culture

academic needs in preparation for Parent-Teacher conferences.

Spanish class.

● Crafted lesson plans under the TPR/TPRS model for students in both Spanish I and
Spanish II level courses

the school studio.

TRAVELS/ EXPOSURES

● January 2015: ​Spent a month in Peru visiting Machu Picchu, the capital, and
surrounding cities.
● Winter 2013:​ ​Spent 3 months doing volunteer work in 8 different cities in Venezuela
while staying with various Venezuelan host families
● Fall 2012: ​Lived on the island of San Pedro, Belize for three months with twenty-seven
other students from varying cultures and ethnicities.
