Artifact #5: Smart Board Presentation

This artifact demonstrates my ability to create a smart notebook presentation showcasing

my smart board skills. Technology is very important to include in your lesson planning because

the students that we are teaching are growing up in a technology era. I feel that incorporating

technology into my classroom is a great way to keep students engaged and motivated by showing

them how fun technology really can be beyond what they are accustomed to. In this presentation

I introduced the planets to my students in hands on way. Each slide of my presentation consisted

of a different activities from hide and reveals, matching games, transparent backgrounds, slides

that contain movement and links to songs. This presentation was fun to teach to the classroom

because it allowed the students to be hands on in their learning process. Dewey believed that

human beings learn through a 'hands-on' approach (Dewey, 1938). I myself learn better when I

am hands on rather than sitting still. This artifact was so much fun to create and I really

understand from this presentation the importance of incorporating technology into the classroom

because the students that we are teaching are growing up in the age of technology. It is what gets

them excited and makes learning fun and entertaining.

how I used my content knowledge to create interactive and engaging activities that advance
