What is it; What’s its purpose; Where is it? - Bishop’s Storehouse is a place owned by the LDS church that holds food and other basic necessities to provide to those in need. - The purpose is to provide this food and other necessities to those who need it so long as they have permission from their local bishop. - It is found all over the place, but the one I served for is located at 615 East and 8400 South, Sandy, UT 84070. Best Parts of Service - Helping people find and get what they need and talking with them. - Working with the other service members there. - The snack/lunch room. Difficult Parts of Service - Some were difficult to work with as they had mental disabilities.
- Trying to find an opening in my schedule to do the
work. People I worked with - Worked with mainly older people and couples who are service missionaries assigned to work here. - There are a few workers with mental disabilities. - Worked with a few people my age. Jobs I did - Stock shelves and other produce. Jobs I did (continued) - Prepare produce for storage. Jobs I did (continued) - Helped people collect their things. Conclusion - Overall enjoyed working there. - Very nice people to work with. - Stocked lots of shelves. - Helped people in need there. - Opened my eyes to the amount of people in need.
