Eloisa will play Theme from “Surprise” Symphony by Joseph Haydn, an Austrian composer from the Classical
Era. Due to his contributions to musical form, he was dubbed the “Father of the Symphony” and “Father of the
String Quartet”. Surprise Symphony is Symphony No. 94 in G Major. The theme was named “Surprise” because
of it’s startlingly loud chord, that interrupts the otherwise soft and gentle flow of the second movement. The
distinctive feature did not appear in the original score, rather, it was added by Haydn on an impulse for the
London premier on March 23, 1792, thus the name Surprise.
Let’s welcome Miss Eloisa Canasa.
