Numerology
Numerology, or Numerolmancy: is a system of magick and divination using
the letters numerical equivalent. The tone is equial to number, which
is equivalent to a letter.

This was first developed by the Chaldeasns and then adapted for the
Greek language by Pathagerous ca 550 B. C. E.. The method that the
Quabbalists like to use is called Gematria, based on the Hebrew
language. but this system is considered by some to be the least accurate.

Some definations:
Arithmance, Arithomancy, Aritmomancy,: Divination by interpreting
numbers. Greeks used the number and value of the letters in the names
of two combatants to predict the victor. This form of divination has
been adopted and modified by many cultures over the millennia. One of
its evolved forms is the current magickal system of Numerology.

Gematria: A system of discovering truths and hidden meanings behind


words, using numerical values for letters of the alphabet. Each letter
corresponds to a number. The numerical values of words are totaled and
interpreted in terms of other words with the same numerical value.
Gematria dates back to the 8th century B .C. E. Babylon, and has been
used by most mystics since that time including the Magi, Gnostics, and Quabbalists.

Notarikon: A form of gematria in which the first and last letters of a


word or phrase are put together to create a new word, or more often
than not to turn a word into a phrase. The Notarikon most Christians
are very familiar with is A. M. E, N. which is found at the end of all
the prayers and the like. These letters stand for the Hebrew phrase “El
Melech Nehehmahn” which translates to "God is a faithful king." in
English. Then the letters of this phrase are then added up and reduced to get a result.

Reduction,: A method used in numerology where the digits of a number


are added together to form a new number. This is repeated until the sum
is one digit (or is one of a few special two digit numbers.

Temurah is a form of gematria that creates anagrams through systematic letter substitutions.
In numerology, all words, names and numbers may be reduced to single
digits, which correspond to certain characteristics that influence the
life. of the person, place or thing. Numerology is used to analyze
character; assess weaknesses, strengths and natural gifts; it
future and fate; determine the best place to live; and discover the
best times to make decisions and take action.

The Greek system and the Hebrew can be easily shown in the example of
the nine chambers. This was first illustrated by Henry Cornelius Agrippa
von Nettesheimin Book III, part iii of his three books on magic, using
the Hebrew. Both the Greek and the Hebrew alphabets can be placed into
this pattern. Though these alphabets match up for the most part there
are some differences. The space for 300 in Hebrew is Shin, but in the
Greek it is Tau. The Greeks use three letters that no longer exist in
the modern Greek alphabet for 6, 9- and 900. If you want to use the
Latin alphabet that we currently use place the appropriate letters by
the sounds they make, not numerical order.

Modern numerology uses the Latin alphbetical order number 1-26. in three rows

To build any number in Greek or Hebrew you take one fron the ones, ten
and hundreds such as the much talked about number 666 in Greek it would
look like this Xi, Chi, Digmanna or in the Hebrew Mem f, Samekh,
Vav. do these form actual words in thier respective languages or maybe a Notarikon?
