Professional Experience relevant to Surveying


Field Tech/Student Internship and Office Assignment
Bureau of Land Management, Cadastral Survey Dept. Salt Lake City, UT, June 2015 to Current.
Land Survey Field Tech. June 2015-November 2015 (Full time 40 hrs.)
Duties: Assist crew chief with carrying necessary equipment on different types of terrain, driving
ATVs, setting up survey equipment, such as tripods, solar panels, starting Trimble GPS units,
assisting with field notes, setting monuments for boundary markers, help with identifying past
monuments and marking new monuments correctly.
Student Internship. June 2015 to June 2016. (Full time during summer months/Part time during
school months.)
Duties: Attend classes relevant and within the Surveying and Geomatics program, such as Public
Land Surveys, Land Boundary Law, AutoCAD etc. Attendance was full time to half time,
depending on class availability and requirements within the degree.
Office Assignment. June 2015 to 2016. (Part time 15 to 20 hrs.)
Duties: Assist with editing and correcting field notes, printing out and editing plats in AutoCAD,
scanning historical documents of previous field notes and assisting with anything that could be of
help within the office.
Crew chief Assistant/Field Tech/Monitor
Bighorn Archaeological Consultants, Orem, UT August 2013-January 2015 (Full time 40 hrs.)
Duties: Operate hand held GPS units for barricading and surveying archaeological sites, work
with crew chiefs for assistant of field notes, monitor heavy machinery within sites, drive company
vehicles on different types of terrain throughout different times of the year, carry and setup heavy
equipment for excavations and other projects.

Field Tech
Colorado Plateau Archaeological Alliance, Ogden UT March 10-17 2013
(Volunteer work, all together a 40 hour work week)

Duties: Operate hand held GPS units, trekking and surveying over long distances of land in Grand
Staircase Escalante Kanab UT, Filling out IMAC forms for site overview documentation for
BLM.
