ADVANTAGE OF ROLE-PLAY

In a role playing situation, students get the opportunity to practice skills they might
not use in regular basis such as debating, acting and reasoning. This help to flourish these
skills for the students thus help them to also use these skills in their daily life. Furthermore,
this also help the students to adapt the situations they might not normally fit in, eventually
forcing the creativity inside them to be exerted

Some students are hard to talk or approach when they find all the attention are
focused towards them. However, with the help of role-play, this will get rid of the cold feet
these students felt by adapting to the character the character they portrayed. Moreover,
role-play also help the students to improve their social skills such as negotiating, leadership
and having a conversation with strangers as sometimes a group for role-play also consist
of a group of people that we didn’t recognize. This eventually will lead to communication
between each of the people to ensure the role-play can be succeeded.

Since role-play can be involving in both cognitive and emotional ways, it can also
be a bridge to help people understand others and the positions they in. For an example, the
person can play a role which the character have something or reason why the person
disagree about the character’s role, to better understand the position. It doesn’t mean to
change the person perspective about others, but just to let the person feel how or why the
character become what he is today and what leads to the character’s decision that makes
the person disagree with him or her.
