Mechanization is when machines are incorporated in performing some tasks. We can also
find methods and procedures intended to replace man as operator and instead have an
artificial operator, which is known as automation and this we can start the robot control,
which is also the process automation without human intervention.
If we have a set of devices responsible for managing, sorting, direct or regulate the behavior
of another system in order to reduce the chances of failure we are talking about a system of
control. In which we have control system and open-loop control system closed loop.
A sensor device is in contact with the measured variable and an actuator device capable of
transforming that hydraulic, pneumatic or electric power in a process activity, and we have
several types of actuators, such as electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical. The
transmitters are those that capture the process variable and transmits distance to an
indicator instrument or controller.
A protocol is the language that devices communicate on the network. Some of its features
are: detect the physical connection on the connection, negotiation of connection
characteristics, error correction is performed.
The Hart protocol is one that is used to send the analog signal of 4-20 mA and some signals
from the transmitter. This protocol levels which can be handled are: 1 (physical level), 2 (link
level) and 7 (application level).
A measurement field or range is the set of values of the measured variable in which the
instrument is able to work reliably. The scope or span is the algebraic difference between
the upper and lower measurement range of the instrument values and an error is the
algebraic difference between the actual value of the measured variable and the value read
by the instrument. Accuracy is the quality of a measuring instrument by which tends to further
reading the true value of the measured magnitude and precision is the quality of an
instrument which tends to give each other very close readings. The sensitivity for its part, is
the ratio of the increase of the output signal or reading and increasing the variable that
causes it.
