Course Description: A study of the concepts and general principles of succession, kinds
of succession (testamentary, legal or intestate, and mixed succession), kinds of heirs,
legitime and collation, principles affecting the legitime (preterition, reserva troncal,
reserva adoptiva, disinheritance) and the freely disposable portion (institution and
substitution of heirs), principles common to testamentary and legal succession, as well
as partition and distribution of the estate of the decedent.
