 What’s the range

 Its hard to find a norm violation that’s good and sets it apart

 Why is negative going to have a bigger impact than positive?
o Breaking norms would be more noticeable if negative because its less probable for
positive norm violations to occur?
o People are more discriminating when it is a negative norm
 For males, why would norm violations and attractiveness not have an effect on impression
formation on females
o It may not be enough na face and a few acts in order to determine impression, there
could be more factors other than attractiveness and those violations
o Facial attractiveness is really subjective
o So use body figure nalang (?)
o Men judging women could have a different criteria for judging women (determine
these)
o This doesn’t apply for guys, explain why it applies for one and not for the other
o What other factors have been found that can be relevant to men
o Evolutionary perspective shows that it really is different when it comes to impression
formation for men and women and we have to find this out
 Theres a difference from hypothetical and actual exposure to the sexes
o When hypo, there was a difference in what people look for
o Don’t use as argument, use gender differences
o If that doesn’t apply, what does?
 For norm violation, we can’t find any articles on filipino norms that are violated by gender
o Put into our context
o Look up on our values?
 Try to find a way to integrate the arguments
 Provide explanations for each main effect + interaction effect
 Think of implications of this
 Where does leave women?
 It could be interpretation of results, but its better if we have studies
 Has to be reflected by related lit
 Evolutionarily, men should provide, so this could be the cause of these effects
 We could go for papers about gender roles
 At this point, think outside of the box
 Broaden your mind, be objective, and look at literature, we’ll find an explanation
 Make it an informative discussion, that we look at different things (men n women)
 Attraction is cognitive
 We report all t tests in manipulation check part (beginning of results before looking at sig
differences)
