Introduction
-Connecting the camera with the computer via network
and checking the video
Perform the following settings in accordance with the Quick Start
Guide.

1. Prepare the camera.


2. Connect the camera with the computer via network.
3. Download the installer of "SNC toolbox" from the following URL,
and install it on the computer.

For details on installation and usage, refer to the Application Guide.

4. Start up “SNC toolbox” and double-click the model in the list.

Make sure to change the administrator user name and password
from the factory setting to secure the security.

1. Lighting up the white LED linked to the
presence sensor
◆This is a function to light up the white LED when the presence sensor
has reacted in the dark environment.
Presence sensor is a sensor that will detect the change in infrared
emitted from human, animal, and other sources.

1-1. Changing the camera setting

1. Click Setting in the main menu.

Changing the light up time and brightness of
the white LED
The light up time ([Duration]) and brightness ([Illuminator level]* :6←1)
can be set in White LED in Action output.
* It is displayed as [Maximum strength] for the software version 1.10.0 or earlier.

[Duration] is the duration time after the presence sensor has
stopped reacting.
It will continue to light up while the presence sensor is reacting.

larger values.

1-2. Checking the operation of the white LED

Confirm that the presence sensor is linked with the white LED. When using
a camera with software version 1.11.0 or later, skip “2.” in the following procedure.

1. Using a handkerchief, etc., so the lens is not touched with hands directly, cover
the lens section of the camera completely so the light will not get in. (If the
room can be darkened, darken the room without performing procedure 1.)

3. After approximately 5 seconds, remove the hand covering the presence


sensor and wave your hand in front of the presence sensor and then
confirm that the white LED lights up taking care not to look at
the white LED directly.

2. Sounding an alarm linked to
the presence sensor, etc. (Voice Alert function)
◆ This is the function to sound an alarm from the speaker on the camera
when specific conditions are met.
- Conditions that can be set are as follows.
・ Camera tampering detection
・ Motion detection
・ VMF (Video Motion Filter)
・ Face detection
・ Network disconnection
・ Presence sensor

2-1. Installing the SNC audio upload tool

"SNC audio upload tool" is used to upload the audio file to a camera.

1. Access to the following URL via the Internet.

2. Download the "SNC audio upload tool" zip file from Utility & Software.
3. Extract the downloaded zip file by right clicking, and start up the exe file.
4. Read the description regarding the agreement if there is one,
and click [Agree] to continue.
5. Change the installation destination if necessary, and start the installation
after the final confirmation.

Installation of "SNC audio upload tool" is completed once the completion


window is displayed.

2-2. Downloading the sample audio to a computer

It is necessary to download the sample audio from the Internet to use


the Voice Alert function.

1. Access to the following URL via the Internet.

2. Click the sample audio to acquire and save it in a desired location


on the computer.

Caution
The downloaded audio file (vof file) can be listened only with "SNC audio
upload tool".
Refer to the step 2 in “2-3. Uploading the sample audio to the camera”
for the listening method.

2-3. Uploading the sample audio to the camera

1. Connect the camera with the computer via network and start up.
"SNC audio upload tool".
① Select the check box ✔ of the camera to upload the audio.
② Enter the administrator [UserID]/[Password] of the camera.
③ Click Voice Alert.

① Click [Open file] ( ) and specify the audio file downloaded

3. Upload.
① Click [Upload] ( ) to start the upload.
② Confirm that [Succeeded] is displayed in the [Status] field,
and confirm that the file name is reflected at selected Voice alert number.

2-4. Changing the setting of the camera
The setting to hear the uploaded audio to the camera when the presence
sensor has reacted is performed here.

1. Click Setting in the main menu

Setting is completed if the setting for the audio file playback is changed to
[Presence sensor] after clicking OK.
Wave your hand in front of the camera and confirm that the sound is heard.

Caution
・Setting for a separate action input is required when setting the execution condition
to anything other than [Presence sensor]. Refer to “Setting the Camera
tampering detection/Motion detection” in the User Guide for detail.
・ Setting for a separate action input is required when combining various

3. Recording a Video on microSD
(Edge Storage function)
3-1. Preparing the microSD

Make sure to confirm the following

About the microSD card that can be used with the camera
・ SDHC card compatible with Class 10
・ Operation guarantee temperature: 85˚C or higher
Operation is not guaranteed for all the microSD that will fulfill above
requirements.

Recommended microSD
・SanDisk Extreme Series microSD(operation confirmed)

Perform the setting in following procedure in accordance with the software


version of the camera.

For software version 1.10.0 or earlier:

3-1-1. When using a camera with software version 1.10.0 or earlier
1. Format the microSD to be used.

Use “SD Formatter” supplied by SD Association to format the microSD.

①. Download the installer for “SD Formatter” from the SD Association Web site.

②. Install “SD Formatter” into the computer.
③. Read the microSD on the computer, start up “SD Formatter,” and click Format.

Format is completed when OK is clicked in the confirmation window.

2. Insert the microSD into the camera while the power of the camera
is turned off.

Caution To initialize the memory card, it takes about 1 minute with a 32 GB


microSD card.

If initialization is not possible, set the Edge Storage setting to Off in

3-2. Setting the clock on the camera

This setting is necessary to record video on correct time.

1. Click Setting in the main menu.

3-3-1. When performing constant recording

1. Click Setting in the main menu.

4. Open Schedule and check that [Always] is selected ✔ for [Edge Storage movie].

3-3-2. When performing event recording

3-3-2-1. Setting a single event recording

The setting to record a video for a specified period when the presence sensor
has reacted is performed here.

1. Perform the setting up to “step 3 of 3-3-1.”

2. In Edge Storage of Action output, confirm and set the following items
and click OK.
① SD memory card Confirm the available space of the microSD
② Overwrite Place a check mark ✔ .
③ Recording target Select [Image 1].
④ Pre-alarm period 10 s
⑤ Post-alarm period 600 s

3-3-2-2. Setting a multiple event recording

The setting for setting multiple event conditions and recording a video
for a specified period when the conditions are met is performed here.

1. Perform the setting up to “step 3 of 3-3-1.”

2. Open Event condition in Action input, set as a desired condition, and click OK.

Example: When the recording of video is to start when the presence sensor
or the motion detection has reacted

The “presence sensor,” “camera tampering detection,”
and “network disconnection” cannot be set simultaneously
when setting multiple event conditions.

3. Perform the setting for conditions to be set from above tabs.

Always set the event conditions other than the presence sensor.
Refer to “Setting the Camera tampering detection/Motion detection”
of the User Guide for detailed setting method.

4. As for the “step 2 of 3-3-2-1.,” confirm and set following items


in Edge Storage of Action output.

5. Open Execution Condition in Action output, set the setting for
[Edge Storage movie] to [Event condition 1], and click OK.

3-4. Playing back/saving/deleting the recorded video
1. Select the video to save from the [List] panel and click Export.

2. A wizard for exporting is displayed. When completed, click Close.

The saved video file is displayed by clicking on the open file ( )


in the [List] panel.

The range can be cut and saved by specifying that range


in the Details in the Control Panel.

1. Select the video in the [List] panel and click Delete.

4.Troubleshooting
4-1. To forcefully light up the white LED
This is a function to forcefully light up the white LED regardless of the presence
sensor or the ambient brightness of the environment.
Please note that the procedure is different depending on the software version
of the camera.

4-1-1. When using a camera with software version 1.10.0 or earlier

1. Start up "SNC toolbox" and confirm the IP address of the camera to


light up the white LED.

2. Display the camera image, enter the following URL in the address bar,
and press the Enter key.

3. It will light up when the administrator user name and password are entered.
Once the check is completed, turn it off by entering the following URL
in the address bar and pressing the Enter key.

1. Click Setting in the main menu.

4-2. To confirm the response of the presence sensor

Perform following setting before performing “3-3. Changing the setting
of the camera . ”

1. Click Setting in the main menu.

[Audio sending], and click OK.

4-4. Unsure of administrator user name and/or password
It is possible to return the administrator user name and password back to
the initial setting by performing the initialization of the camera when you have
forgotten the administrator user name and/or password. Read the
“Initializing this unit” in the Quick Start Guide or
“Basic Operations of the Administrator Menu” in the User Guide
for initial setting of the administrator user name and password.

1. Turn off the power of the camera.

2. Perform reset.
① Using a narrow tipped object, press the reset switch and simultaneously
connect the AC adapter to the power supply input terminal.
(* Connect the network cable to the network cable for the CX600 model)

② Confirm the POWER/NETWORK indicator.

3. Initialization will complete in a few minutes and the POWER indicator will
light up in green.

If the initialization does not complete, repeat from above step 1.

Caution Please be cautious when performing the initialization of the camera


since all the settings will be set back to the factory settings
when the initialization is performed. 42
4-5. How to confirm the software version of the camera

There are 2 methods to confirm the software of the camera.

1. Confirm with “SNC toolbox”


Software version of all the cameras connected can be confirmed simultaneously.

① Start the “SNC toolbox.” (Refer to P. 4 for detail)


② Confirm the model, serial number, etc., of the camera to confirm the version,
and confirm the version.

2. Confirm with the main menu of the camera


Software version can be confirmed with the Web browser.

① Click Setting in the main menu.


② Confirm the software version in Information of System.

4-6. To restore the video stopped on the browser
This section describes how to restore the video from the camera on the Web
browser due to an error such as connection timeout.

1. Click the Refresh button on the Web browser.

* If the video does not appear even after refreshing, turn off the power of the
camera and turn it on again to reconnect the camera.

* If the video stops frequently under the environment where the camera is
connected wirelessly, try the following measures.

(1) If the router has the auto update function of wireless channels,
turn it OFF.
If this function is set to Auto or ON, the radio wave may be shut off
momentarily.

(2) Change the update time of the router’s encryption key.


The radio wave may be shut off momentarily when updating the
encryption key.
