Report on the Home Economics Building

By Arkiel, John, Beatrice, Amiel and Bill Mae

 This is your standard strip center in which the condition looks to be maintained for the most part. No major
structural problems were observed.
 The electrical system was observed to be overall in a satisfactory condition. Grounding electrode conductors
have been vandalized and should be repaired.
 The heating and air conditioning should be taken a look at or at worse to be repaired. Several air
conditioning units are icing up due to low refrigerant levels. The responsibility for maintenance of these units
should be reviewed in the current lease agreements.
 The ventilation systems are observed to be functional and maintained for the most part.
 The plumbing system was observed to be generally functional and in proper condition.
 The roofing system was observed to be maintained and at satisfactory condition. Several areas of possible
leakage were noted at the vicinity of the rooftop equipment. Repairing is recommend because the roof is
ballasted and visual assessments of the membrane itself is prevented. Finally a bad seam was noted near
the large rooftop unit.
 The exterior walls are observed to be in satisfactory condition. An area in rear of the main grocery store is
recommended to be looked at on the rooftop. Guards should be assigned at the rear loading platform.
 Windows are doors were found to be in satisfactory condition.
 The asphalt paving was observed to be in satisfactory condition. Localized repair and seal coating should be
done on a scheduled basis.
 The fire suppression system was recently tested by Capital Fire Protection
