2Hardware Installation

D20 ECG Board 0

The D20 ECG board is the ECG interface in the AXIOM Artis.
• In cardiology systems, the AXIOM Artis RTC is already equipped with the D20 ECG
board.
• In all other systems, the D20 has to be installed.
The D20 ECG board has to be installed on the D10 SIRC PCI-board.

Check whether the D20 board is present:

1. Shut down the AXIOM Artis system and switch it off.
2. Open the RTC of the Artis system. Loosen the 6 screws on the top and bottom of the
RTC front door, see arrows (Fig. 1 / p. 6) and swing it out.

Fig. 1: RTC front panel

3. Check whether the D20 is present; its location is shown in (1/Fig. 2 / p. 7).
If the D20 board is already there, close the RTC and continue with (Cabling / p. 9).
To install the D20, continue with the next step.
Installing the D20 ECG Board:
E 1. Remove the SIRC PCI-board, see (1/Fig. 2 / p. 7) from the PCI slot.

- TCP/IP Address
If the Sensis has not been found, enter its IP address.
- Click on the Test button to send a PING command to the host.
Acknowledge the message Host is alive with OK.

The TCP/IP ping may fail for the following reasons:

The Sensis system is turned off or not in the same network (or subnet),
There is a gateway that is is not configured correctly,
The TCP/IP address is configured incorrectly,
A network device (router, switch, bridge,...) denies access.
3. Connected by LAN is always selected.
RAS is not supported.
4. Click on Save and acknowledge the message

6. If an error occurred, click on AutoConf in the footer.

If no error occurred, click on Exit, Finish, Home and restart the application.

ECC Components
If the “enhanced (key)“ was selected in the previous step (remote control from ECC), the
number of ECG monitors in the examination room (1 or 2) now has to be set. If the “basic
(key)“ was selected, skip this section.
If there is only one ECG monitor, the physician can toggle between the real-time ECG curve
display (RTC monitor) and the dialog monitor (DMC monitor). Therefore an additional but-
ton appears on the ECC.
With two ECG monitors in the examination room, there is no need to toggle between the
different displays and consequentially there is no additional button on the ECC.
Select Components - ECC in the left pane.
1. Run the Local Service again, select Configuration and go to Components - ECC.
2. Select Sensis-related configuration items.

Checking/Changing the Network Card Settings 0

The newly established network connection

AXIOM.Sensis Ethernet adapter, port 2 ---------RTC_A switch/AXIOM.Artis
comprises the internal AXCS network, which is used exclusively for connecting the Artis to
the DMC of the AXIOM.Sensis. This AXCS network is used as a communication channel
to transfer ECG data (no ECG signals), patient data and X-ray data. It is not used to transfer
images from the Artis to the Sensis, which is done via the hospital network.
The speed and mode settings on the DMC Ethernet adapter, port 2 depends on the
AXIOM.Artis system software and has to be checked and changed if necessary.
