Applicability 0
This manual describes the steps that are necessary to connect an AXIOM.Sensis to an
AXIOM.Artis with VBxx or VC12 system software.
Prerequisites 0
Upgrade Materials 0
Remarks 0
• This upgrade has to be performed by a CSE who completed AXIOM Artis and AXIOM
Sensis training.
Safety Information 0
The D20 ECG board is the ECG interface in the AXIOM Artis.
• In cardiology systems, the AXIOM Artis RTC is already equipped with the D20 ECG
board.
• In all other systems, the D20 has to be installed.
The D20 ECG board has to be installed on the D10 SIRC PCI-board.
- Unplug the three ribbon cables from the rear connector panel.
- Remove the red mounting clip on top of the board. To do this, press the clip and
simultaneously pull it out.
- Carefully remove the SIRC PCI-Board from the PCI slot and place it down on an ESD
mat.
2. Install the D20 on the SIRC PCI board. Pay attention to correct positioning of the board
when plugging it into the connector strips! Secure it with four (plastic) nuts.

3. Reinstall the SIRC PCI-Board in the same PCI slot. Plug the three ribbon cables back
in on the rear connector panel.
4. Reinstall the red mounting clip that holds the board in place.
5. Check the boards in the PCI slots and the plug-in connectors for proper seating.
6. Close the RTC.

Configuration 0
1. Open the Local Service, click on Configuration in the Home Menu and Next.
Artis System
ECC Components
If the “enhanced (key)“ was selected in the previous step (remote control from ECC), the
number of ECG monitors in the examination room (1 or 2) now has to be set. If the “basic
(key)“ was selected, skip this section.
If there is only one ECG monitor, the physician can toggle between the real-time ECG curve
display (RTC monitor) and the dialog monitor (DMC monitor). Therefore an additional but-
ton appears on the ECC.
With two ECG monitors in the examination room, there is no need to toggle between the
different displays and consequentially there is no additional button on the ECC.
Select Components - ECC in the left pane.
1. Run the Local Service again, select Configuration and go to Components - ECC.
2. Select Sensis-related configuration items.

2. Highlight Network Node: Sensisxxxx, see (Fig. 11 / p. 15) and click on Config in the
footer.
3. Store Monitor
Set Ready Processed and Resize to Disabled.

4. Click on OK, Save and Home.
5. Close the Local Service.
AXIOM.Sensis 3.1
For any default and user-defined setup of the Hemodynamic or Electrophysiology applica-
tions, it is possible to assign the wave form that is visible on the X-ray image display of the
AXIOM.Artis. In most cases, the II lead of the EGC is used to display the ECG signal.

2. Checkmark ARTIS Connected.
3. Checkmark
- BSR, if the system software of the Artis is VBxx.
- AXIS, if the system software of the Artis is VC12.
4. Click on Save and acknowledge the message
X-Ray communication settings successfully saved with OK.
Local Host
The IP address of the DMC Ethernet adapter, port 2 is predefined, but has to be checked:
1. In the “Local Service“, go to Local Host / TCP/IP LAN.
Fig. 18:
DICOM Settings
Network Nodes
The AXIOM.Artis has to be added to the DICOM nodes.
- TCP/IP Address
If the host has not been found, enter its IP address.
- Click on the Test button to send a PING command to the host.
¹ The message “Host is alive” should appear.
3. Click on Verification.
A C-ECHO command is transferred to the selected DICOM service, which is defined by
the IP address, the port number and the AET.
4. Supported DICOM Services
On the AXIOM.Sensis, open the patient browser and enter the name, patient ID, date of
birth and fill in all mandatory fields. Start a study, then click on the Axiom Artis Patient
Browser. The current patient must be visible and you can start with the study. Then start
with a scene, all X-ray data (angles, doses, voltages and amps) must be visible in the
Axiom Sensis Event viewer.
The selected ECG wave forms in the X-ray scene also must be visible.
Adjusting the ECG Analog Signal on the D20 EGC Board 3.3
The D20 ECG board in the RTC (A) is factory adjusted. If the signal is not correctly dis-
played, for example it is clipped, adjust the EGC board.
