1. Project Details
M/s Loom Crafts Shade Systems (P) Ltd has invited Skeleton Consultants Pvt. Ltd.,
Noida to provide Structural Engineering consultancy services for the proposed Hospital
Building, Rabale, Mumbai.
General Details:
 The project consists of a building having Basement, Ground+4 upper floors
and Terrace floor.
 The project land and built-up area to be considered are as per architecture.
 Height of each story in each building as per architectural drawings.
 Ground Floor level = +450
2. Structural System and Expansion Joint Detail

 The building will be designed and constructed as RC Steel hybrid structure

where the structure (Substructure) up to the ground floor level shall be in
RCC and the Superstructure shall be built in Structural Steel.

 The super structure system will be designed as Moment Resisting frame with
steel Beam-Columns and cross bracings & concrete slab over metal deck sheet.

 Column-Beam connection shall be considered as rigid jointed for main frame

& joists shall be simply supported.

 The Steel beam & columns will be made using Plate fabricated built-up
sections and hollow tubes.

 Rigid diaphragms in horizontal direction at floor levels will be considered

and same shall be achieved through concrete screed and floor bracings at
suitable locations, if required.

 Cross/Portal Bracings in vertical plane will be provided at suitable locations

to resist the lateral force due to earthquake & wind. The total design lateral
force will be resisted by the columns-beam frames and bracings in proportion
to their lateral stiffness at floor levels.

 Hollow tubular sections shall be considered for cross bracings.

 Steel column shall be analyzed as fixed at top of RC pedestal and support

 reaction at that location will be taken for substructure design.

 Block wall panels of 150mm thick having density of 650 kg/m3 shall be
considered.

 The floor system shall have GI metal deck sheet 0.8mm thick fixed over steel
beams with nominally reinforced 75mm thick concrete slab over it.
Conventional floor tiles shall be laid above concrete.

 Vertical End connection will be used in order to utilize the tensile capacity of
bolts.

 No Expansion joint shall be provided in the Building.

 Roof shall be pitched roof metal sheet with purlins over steel rafter and
gutter/down take pipes shall be provided as per architecture.

 Design shall be carried out as per IS800-2007 and NBC-2016.

Columns will be covered with 50mm thick Concrete blocks. Beams will be in line with the
columns as the wall panels will be fixed 50mm outside the beams so that everything will be
inline. The beams will be covered with 50mm thick concrete panels in shape of U. The weight of
wall panel of size 750 x 600 x 150mm
