CHSDA
INSTALLATION, ACCEPTANCE
and
TURN-OVER CEREMONY
August 13, 2016

Introduction

Brothers and sisters in Christ, good morning. Praised be Jesus and Mary. This morning
we will witness the acceptance of Mrs. Eliza Perez-Mendoza as President of CHSDA and her
installation to the Office and the Turn-Over ceremony of Mrs. Alma D. Mercado, the outgoing
President.

The whole life of Christ on earth was a series of acts of obedience to the Father. The life
of Mary was centered to God’s holy will. To please God, she followed the order of the Roman
Emperor, undertaking the journey to Bethlehem despite being heavy with child. She once more
manifested the spirit of obedience when she fled to Egypt with Jesus and Joseph. Finally her
obedience has reached its apex when she offered her son on Mt. Calvary.

Obedience is the root of all virtues since it is a source of peace, of security and humility.
Even in secular life, obedience is looked upon as important to the success of any undertaking. In
the family, the parents are looked upon as the head that other members of the family usually
obey. This example is in accord with the teaching of St. Paul who said to let every person be subject to
the higher authorities. For there is no authority except God.

As followers of Christ, we try to make our life a constant act of loving submission to God’s
will and to the will of those who hold the office. Today we are gathered to witness the CHSDA’s
acceptance of Mrs. Eliza Perez-Mendoza as President of CHSDA and she will be installed to the
Office and the turnover of Mrs. Alma D. Mercado.

Let us invoke the Triune God to fill him with His gifts, especially the gifts of wisdom,
discernment, knowledge, understanding, compassion, love and awe in God’s presence.

TURN OVER CEREMONY

Mrs. Alma D. Mercado - Outgoing President

Almighty and loving God, may my obedience be translated into total availability of being
sent. I have been blessed more than I deserve. I acknowledge You as the giver of all good gifts.
This day as I turn over my responsibility, help me to be free of any attachment to any positions,
of any persons I have learned to love, of things I have become familiar to. I know Lord that this
life is not all there is; that the best is yet to come if I live for You. So, help me each day to live my
life in ways that honor and please You. Amen.

Mrs. Eliza P. Mendoza – the new CSHDA President

Almighty Father, You know the secrets of my heart. I surrender my heart to you in sincere
submission to Your will.

Lord Jesus, I desire to serve You through the ministry of education with totality of heart, soul and strength.
Bless me with the spirit of sincerity and fidelity as I accept this responsibility entrusted to my
care.

Holy Spirit, fill me with all of the gifts that I need to be of service to Your people. I dedicate myself
once again; to serve others as Jesus taught me to serve. Amen

School Administrator (Dean Jovenal Lor, MA)

As you journey onward, may you remember always that our love and appreciation for you are
written in our hearts.

As you experience the insecurity of change and the uncertainty for moving on, may you also
experience the blessing of inner strength and spiritual growth.

As you walk through good times and hard times, may you never lose sight of the security and
shelter of God’s loving arms.

Intercessory Prayer

Leader:
The ability to work with groups is a most important skill. Let us beg the Father, Son and
Holy Spirit to empower us on how to go about it. For every supplication we pray:

LORD, HELP US SO WE CAN WORK FOR YOU.

- Lord, when we come to a new group, we experience uncertainties and insecurities. We

raise questions such as --- How will these people treat me? Will I be accepted? How will
I be challenged to change this group? Will this group threaten my self-esteem? We pray
to you, Lord.

- Lord, leadership includes the ability to create a climate of safety, to encourage

interaction among members, adhere to the task established by the group and
intervene when issues prevent group progress. We pray to you, Lord.

- Lord, a basic function of leadership is to activate charisms and bring the members to
collaborate together. It is important that we recognize your gifts and provide
opportunities for these gifts to be used for service especially to the poor and those under
our care. We pray to you, Lord.

- Lord, the appointment of leadership is to skillfully coordinate these many gifts and make
them available to the community. We pray to you, Lord.

Leader:
Lord God, help us to put these into the center of our charism and gifts. Lead us to
a wholesome and faithful journey, as we embark this school year. We ask this
through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Closing Prayer:

Lord, Jesus the disciples recognized you in your act of service. You prepare us and inspire us to
perform our appointed task with great humility. We are humbled that you chose us, thus we will
strive to be worthy of our mission. Aided by your grace, our daily work and service will contribute
to the growth of the Church. Like Venerable Ignacia del Espiritu Santo, allow us to delight in work
and prayer. We ask this in Your Name. Amen.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
