1 PRESENTATION
The BSD 2.0 is a gateway between your GENSYS / MASTER and Internet. It allows you to remotely
monitor your GENSYS from any device with a web browser (Tablet, Computer and Smartphone). This
device is compatible with GENSYS 2.0, GENSYS COMPACT and MASTER 2.0. One BSD 2.0 is necessary
by unit. You will find below the functions provided by this module:
‐ Sending of mails and/or text messages when an alarm or a fault appears on the GENSYS
‐ Location of your generator
‐ Control of your generator (Control of breakers, changing mode, start or stop the engine etc.)
‐ Visualization of many parameters (generator, mains, engine, inputs/outputs, etc.)
The connection between the BSD 2.0 and Internet can be done through two different ways:
‐ By connecting the BSD 2.0 on a network with internet, using an Ethernet cable
‐ By using a SIM card with a “data” plan
A GPS antenna allows the geolocalisation.
5 / 37
A61 Y2 9 0020 D EN user manual - technical documentation
Once the connection and configuration are done, you can access the GENSYS connecting to the
websitehttp://bsd20.cretechnology.com/with your login and password provided by CRE Technology.
There are 2 types of users:
‐ « User » level: You can use all the functionalities of the BSD 2.0 but you can't realize the
installation of the product (or any other configuration)
‐ « Manager »level: You can use all the functionalities of the BSD 2.0 and realize the
configuration for the installation of the module. You can also realize many manipulations
shown in the« Advanced configuration »part of the documentation.

The next two sections detail the connection between the BSD 2.0 and Internet, and then the
connection between the GENSYS / MASTER and the BSD 2.0.
2.5.1 Connection between BSD 2.0 and Internet
Follow the next steps according to the configuration chosen at the beginning of this chapter:
Configuration 1: Ethernet network connected to Internet
Connect your BSD 2.0 to an Ethernet network with Internet access using an Ethernet cable plugged in
the WAN port of the BSD 2.0.
9 / 37
A61 Y2 9 0020 D EN user manual - technical documentation
If your network is equipped with a DHCP server (auto configuration of IP addresses), the connection
is automatic. Wait a few seconds and check if the light of the LED Uplink/WAN is green.
If your network does not use DHCP protocol or if you would like to manually configure an IP address
for the BSD 2.0:
Disconnect the WAN port of BSD 2.0 and connect your BSD 2.0 LAN port to your computer with an
Ethernet cable without using a switch. Open a web browser, type the LAN IP address of the BSD 2.0
(10.200.1.1) and be sure your computer is in the same subnet (IP address: 10.200.1.X with X between
2 and 250). You will see a message box requesting a username and a password:
Username: admin
Password: Type the activation code which is at the bottom of your BSD 2.0
When you are connected, you can modify the WAN IP address of your product selecting « Network
settings ». « Use DHCP to assign an IP address automatically » must not be checked.
Then, do not forget to reconnect the BSD 2.0 to your installation as described before.
10 / 37
A61 Y2 9 0020 D EN user manual - technical documentation
Configuration 2: SIM card with a "data" plan (Mobile internet bundle)
Note: A « data » plan is a mobile plan with an Internet connection
‐ Deactivate the PIN code of your SIM card
‐ Insert the SIM card in the module
The SIM card should be pushed into the slot provided on the top side of the unit. The side of the SIM
card with the gold plating should face upwards, and the end with the cut corner should be inserted
first. When the card is fully inserted it will lock into position.
Note: Push the SIM card again to extract it
Check that the BSD 2.0 is powered on.
Connect on http://bsd20.cretechnology.com/, select the system (BSD 2.0) you want to configure,
then, select« Management »and click on « Mobile network »:
‐ Select "I have a custom or standard SIM‐Card"
‐ Type in the phone number, including country code
‐ Type the APN (Access Point Name) ‐ Contact your operator
‐ APN username ‐ Contact your operator
‐ APN password ‐Contact your operator
‐ Click on "Send". This will allow you to transfer all the APN parameters to the BSD 2.0 via
a text message
Wait a couple of minutes until you see the message "Configuration SMS delivered. Note it might take
a few minutes before the system comes online".
Check if the LEDs Modem and Uplink/WAN of the BSD 2.0 are turning green.
