Staff Meeting Minutes

Meeting started with Duaa and Quran Recitation by Br. Abdulsalam


Then Sr. Elmira spoke about the afternoon duty. She mentioned that the duty starts at 3 and ends at
3:30. The teacher on duty should stay at school even if the students are in the office, the teachers
must supervise inside.

1- RAMADAN
 Br Abdulsalam spoke about the students who are young and fasting. He asked the teachers to
separate them from the other students who are eating because this is causing them to be
hungry. He suggested that the students who are eating can continue their food in the class when
the bell ring while the others go to the playground. He also suggested that while the students
are eating, the ones who are fasting can be distracted by playing some board games in the other
corner of the class.
 Br Denis spoke about an Eftar that will be happing on June 8 at Deveron Park for staff and
parents. He also mentioned that there will be another Eftar just for staff.

2- Quran Competition
 The competition will take place on Thursday Week five
 The competition will start on Thursday after recess. Reception and Year 1 will start first
and then they will go to their classes.
 The teachers should make sure all the students drink and go to the toilets before the
competition.
 The competition will start at 11:30 and ends by 12:50
 The parents will be invited to the competition.

3- Eid Festival 2018


 The Eid comes after Ramadan. The festival usually doesn’t take place on the first day
after Ramadan because the people are busy with their prayers and social activities.
 The festival will be held on June 23 and 24. The festival will be for two days because of
the great number of people attending it.
 The teachers are asked to prepare something with the students to present it at the
festival. The two campuses are asked to present four performances. The two campuses
can collaborate to present any performance. Our campus is asked to present two
performances. The performance should present what the students are learning.

4- Islamic Book Week


 The Islamic Book Fair is going well. The parents are coming and the students are enjoying.
 The library will stay busy till next week>
 Teachers are kindly asked to take the students for a look at the library and they can note
down what the students like and then they can tell the parents.

5- Bus Issue
 Salisbury bus is coming so early in the morning. Br Orhan will solve the issue by asking
the bus driver to pick the first student at 7:45 starting by next week.
 In the afternoon, Sr. Elmira had prepared a list for the bus students. The teacher on Bus
duty is asked to take this list so it helps them make sure all the students are on the bus.
The teacher is also asked to note the absent students beforehand so the buses are not
delayed.
 Regarding the students that take the big bus, the teacher is asked to lead them to the
bus or at least to the gate to make sure all of them are save.
6- AOB
 Sr. Nada spoke about the Premier’s Challenge Book, Indonesian Challenge. The students
are asked to read a story in Indonesian language or about the Indonesian culture. The
competition due date is on August 24th, but the teachers asked to provide Sr. Nada with
the filled forms by the end of this term. Sr. Nada mentioned that Br Mohammad had
already ordered some stories, but the students can also use their local libraries.
 Sr. Nada also spoke about STEM Reading and Design Challenge. The due date is on the
6th of July.
 Sr. Elmira mentioned the importance on not turning right when leaving the school due
to Health and Safety precautions and it also increases the traffic. She also asked the
teachers to act as role models for the parents and students and to follow the sign.
 Sr. Elmira also mentioned the importance of taking the duty seriously and to never
neglect the students’ incidents. The teachers should make sure they check over the
students situation even if they think that the students are faking it.

Meeting ended with Dua recited by Br. Abdulsalam.
