SIR:
The Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University which the undersigned represent
humbly seek for a strengthened partnership of our agencies on the area of education.
Believing on the dictum that it takes a whole village to educate a child, we are
partnering with several government and non-government organization particularly with
the Department of Education for a stronger delivery of our extension programs
particularly in helping solve problems in education and community.
We have several extension programs open for partnership and we are initially offering
our services to your agency through our 1) Institutional Development and Capability
Building Program, 2) Educational Leadership, Professional Development, and Teacher
Support Program, and 3) Adopt-a-School Program. Under these programs are training
projects and other activities aimed at the professional development of our school heads
and teachers covering different specializations/subject to enhance competencies for a
more effective instructional delivery that would redound to higher achievement of our
students. We also offer our service in the area of research should your agency need
technical assistance.
Attached are outlines of our six (6) initially-lined up training projects for your perusal and
evaluation of their relevance vis-à-vis the thrusts of your agency. We can offer these as
a stand-alone training or as a joint endeavor embedded in your lined-up training
activities on a division level, or as a school-based training.
For September to November 2014, we have lined-up trainings in the areas of Science
Education, Special Education, and Educational Administration/ Community
Development of which we seek for the endorsement of your office (see appended
Training Matrix).
Likewise, we seek for partnership in our endeavor for the further professionalization of
our public school teachers through graduate education. We are currently exploring for
possible graduate school scholarship of our public school teachers/heads as we try to
solicit for support from various agencies and foundations (see attached concept paper
re: Community/School Development Graduate Scholarship Program for Public School
Teachers).

Synergia, Inc.; and Resources for the Blind, Inc. for a stronger delivery of our programs

under the auspices of the Provincial Government of La Union (Provincial School Board),
LGU-Agoo, Synergia, Inc, while the first series training of the Leadership Training

The Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University-South La Union Campus is holding
a 3-day Seminar-Workshop on Enhancing the Proficiency and Pedagogical Skills of Science
Teachers Handling Children/Students with Diverse Needs.

The seminar-workshop will be held on October 2-4, 2014 at Eriguel Hall, Teachers’
Training Center, Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University, Agoo, La Union.
The training presents trends in Science teaching and interactive workshops aimed at
developing the competencies (skills and attributes) of teachers for effective teaching in the 21st
century. Likewise, different laboratory activities will be conducted for different curriculum levels
that will equip participants with effective skills and apply age-appropriate techniques that will
facilitate learning and develop appreciation for Science.
The seminar-workshop is a live-in training partly subsidized by the university and other
patrons, Hence only a minimal amount of six hundred pesos (PhP 600.00) will be charged per
series inclusive of 6 meals and 6 snacks, accommodation/lodging, handouts, and certificates.
The training is a limited engagement; hence, each division is allotted only a maximum
of seven participants – 3 from the elementary and 4 from the secondary levels who shall be
nominated by the division. Pre-registration is required by filling out the form below and

The Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University-South La Union Campus is holding
a a series of Seminar-Workshop on Caring and Empowering the Differently-Abled.
.
The seminar-workshop will be held on October 4 and November 28-29, 2014 at Eriguel
Hall, Teachers’ Training Center, Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University, Agoo, La
Union.
The training presents trends in Special Education and workshops in handling students
with diverse needs aimed at developing the competencies and attributes of SPED teachers for
effective teaching. Likewise, activities will equip participants with effective skills and apply age-
appropriate techniques that will facilitate learning.
The seminar-workshop is a subsidized by the university and other patrons, hence, only
a minimal amount of one hundred pesos (PhP 100.00) per day will be charged covering 1 lunch
and 2 snacks, handouts, and certificates. An additional three hundred pesos (P300) will be
added for lodging provisions on the second series.
The training is a limited engagement; hence, each division is allotted only a maximum of
five (5) SPED/regular teacher trainees – three (3) from the elementary and two (2) from the
secondary levels who shall be nominated by the division. Pre-registration is required by filling

The training is a limited engagement; hence, other divisions are allotted only a maximum
of four (4) school heads preferably those with 0-5 years of experience in educational
administration in either elementary or secondary level who shall be nominated by their
respective division.
