JSA – Blasting and Painting

Please rename this Document as JSA for Abrasive blasting and Painting, because blasting are of many
types, which also include the use of Explosives

1. Prior approval to be taken from the GADL Safety team before Abrasive blasting operation.
2. Blasting area to be barricaded with GI Sheets
3. MSDS for the Grit substance being used to be displayed.
4. Grit Substance used for the blasting to be stored in an isolated location with signage’s
5. Washing facility to be provided to prevent ingestion of the Grit substance and iron dust
6. Consequences of Inhalation , Ingestion and Injection of paint substances to be elaborately
explained in the Document

JSA – Mechanical
1. While cutting Underground utility pipeline, working area to be signage posted.
2. The Spillage of Oil during any cutting activities to be attended immediately without delay , for
which what control measures are taken to be added
3. Workers to be trained on emergency preparedness
4. Mobile Crane to be inspected with a checklist in place
5. Spark arrestor to be used and it is mandatory
6. Ensure blowing of horn while lifting and shifting of Plates to alert nearby workers
7. Lifting gear usage to be discussed for safe lifting
8. How Proper and good ventilation is ensured at hot work areas?
9. Training for all the workers on Usage of Fire extinguishers
10. What kind of Jacks will be used, Hydraulic or mechanical to be specified.
11. Crushing of the load also to be included
12. The amount of exposure to radiation during radiography test to be monitored by dosimeter and
recorded
13. Transportation of Radio Active Substance

Safe Work Procedure


1. Identified consequences as Hazards, it is inappropriate
2. Exhaust system to be used in addition with the Air Respiratory System.

HIRA – Civil, Mechanical


1. Risk matrix is not documented with the Risk management steps being taken
2. In the Hazards Column , mentioned consequences of the hazards , Hazards to be identified

SHE Manual
1. Responsibilities of Workers, Engineers/ Supervisors/Managers, Safety Officer to be
documented
2. Site logistics plan to be prepared and displayed
3. Weather Conditions, Wind Speed monitoring, Checklists being used to be documented
4. Display of Safety policy on site in a language which is understood by the workers
5. Register of Regulations to be maintained
6. Audits
7. Frequency of audits to be conducted to be documented
8. Deploying Security person on site and roles and responsibilities to be clearly documented
9. Plan for Medical surveillance on early detection of Occupational Illnesses to be documented
10. Tie-up with nearby emergency clinics
11. Drinking water facility to be maintained in regards with Quality of Water , Consumption and
Availability .TDS of the water to be checked at regular intervals
12. Where ever required NO SMOKING /NO NAKED FLAME SIGNAGES TO BE DISPLAYED
13. Emergency contact numbers to be displayed
14. Location for the storage of Gas cylinders to be identified
15. Appropriate access way for the Emergency vehicles to be arranged
16. Waste Disposal methods , Waste segregation, Location of Garbage bins to be clearly
documented and implemented
17. Assembly point to be identified
18. Safety officer to be accompanied by number of staff
19. List of items in the first aid box to be documented in SHE Manual
