    IET membership fees - The IET

    Current membership fees including the IET qualified and registered member fee and current Engineering Council fees.

    Standard membership fees for 2018


    Fellow (FIET) £187.00
    Member with designatory letters (TMIET or MIET) £160.00
    Associate £160.00
    Students and apprentices (one year) £20.00
    Students and apprentices (for duration of course) £50.00

    IET qualified and registered membership fees for 2018

    If you are professionally registered with the Engineering Council, or were awarded the title Chartered Electrical Engineer
    through the IEE, you are required to pay the IET qualified and registered member fee. This rate includes the standard IET
    membership fee.

    IET registered Fellows: Chartered Engineers, Incorporated Engineers

    IET registered members: Chartered Engineers, Incorporated Engineers
    £198.00
    or Chartered Electrical Engineers
    IET registered Fellows: Engineering Technicians or ICT Technicians £203.00

    Engineering Council fees for 2018

    If you are professionally registered with the Engineering Council, you are required to pay the IET qualified and registered
    member fee plus the Engineering Council registration fee below.

    Chartered Engineer (CEng) £39.00


    Incorporated Engineer (IEng) £33.00
    Engineering Technician (EngTech) £19.00
    ICT Technician (ICTTech) £19.00

    CMI annual registration fees for 2018

    Chartered Manager registrants are required to pay the following annual fees in addition to their IET membership fee:

    Chartered Manager Fellow (CMI) £124.00


    Chartered Manager Member (CMI) £108.50

    CITP annual registration fees for 2018

    CITP registrants are required to pay the following annual fees in addition to their IET membership fee:

    Chartered IT Professional (CITP £47.00

    Please note...

    All IET membership fees and Engineering Council fees are effective from 1 January 2018.

    Membership of the IET runs for 12 consecutive months from date of payment (e.g. an individual joining the IET in March
    2018 would receive a renewal notice in April 2019).

    Members who are employed, pay UK income tax and pay for their own membership subscription may claim tax relief on
    subscriptions to periodicals and their membership fees as expenses of their profession.
    Reduced membership subscription rates are available to members in certain circumstances.

    The IET has made special arrangements for members in the following countries:

    India
    Nigeria
